“Trees are some of the most majestic natural organisms on the planet. There is a symbiotic bond between living animals and living trees (they give us oxygen and we give them carbon dioxide). This bond was regarded as very mystical and magical to ancient civilizations who did not even know of this exchange. They simply knew that trees had power of their own. They believed each tree has a unique spirit and specific powers that it holds within its bark.” (from mysticfiles) Mixed media on handmade paper. 70x100 cm. AAARTH’s cover artwork is by @fernando_chamarelli , a very talented painter, illustrator and muralist from Brazil. We were so drawn to the piece , it’s colour & dimension, the way you see a different symbol & layer every time you look. It reminds us of the album we’ve made & we’re so glad for the collaboration.
We wanted to hear Fernando’s background on the piece, so here in his own words is the inspiration behind Eu Vim de Muito Longe. “I made this illustration inspired by a Sumerian myth. a myth about the existence of another planet in our solar system called Nibiru. this planet would have collided catastrophically with Tiamat, another hypothetical planet, and this collision would have formed the planet Earth. this work is about the first explorers that arrived in the earth, coming from a long way, a long time ago”
