Throwback to one of the most prescient Bourdain moments from @partsunknowncnn ・・・
That time Bourdain compared Putin to Trump when asked what he thought of him. 🤔 (Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown - Season 3, Episode 5)
Loved the man, watched all his shows, yet had never read this book. If Kitchen Confidential proves one thing, it’s that #Bourdain knew how to live. More heartbreaking then, that he chose to throw in the towel #anthonybourdain#chef#book#love#read#food

#AnthonyBourdain RIP. You introduced the world to the famous #TheLunchLady#NguyenThiThanh in #Saigon and she’s changed the food world. Today, she served #banhcanhcua aka crab udon soup #Vietnamese style and super fresh.
#Bourdain raved “…the broth that the gods would have suckled on... Like all truly great #soups , it soon becomes center of the universe. You pass through an event horizon of pleasure, moments ticked off in mouthfuls, everything else ceases to exist.” She has a daily rotation of her #noodlesoup dishes which she labors every morning to get the freshest ingredients and there is only one soup per day on the menu. #Streetfood menus tend to be minimal, no more than four dishes at most. But she gets so many, it’s dizzying the setup. The fish based broth is golden brown. The soup is warming, comforting, homey and somehow reassuring. It’s thick, rich, velvety. There’s shrimp, fish cake, crab meat, quail eggs, bbq pork slices, beef, and little mushrooms. Strangely, the taste is mild compared to the aroma, but it still has all the fishy, salty flavor you’d expect from a #seafood broth, loaded w #lemongrass , garlic, shallots, and onions. The famously slippery #udon noodles – which constantly frustrate the hungry diner by falling off their chopsticks – are easier to manage than usual as I think she uses brown rice so it has a less slippery texture. #banhcanh#crab#lunchlady
The best part, it was only $1.50 and filled w throngs of both locals and tourists. She’s famous and she knows it and sold our friend her cookbook and signed it without asking. She knew we wanted a photo and obliged too. #vietnamesefood#saigoneats#foodporn#livesuptothehype
Today we are touring with our stomachs through Jackson Heights, Queens — one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the world, and briefly my neighborhood in 2005-2006. First stop, a Tibetan momo shop hidden behind a cellphone shop. Framed photos: the Dalai Lama and Anthony Bourdain, who of course knew all about it. 🖤 #momo#tibetan#jacksonheights#queens#bestborough#bourdain
I listened to another podcast about Anthony Bourdain today. This one was specific to his writing and how he documents stories. He explained how he tries to be sensitive to his subjects and never risk their safety, to get the story. The people he meets are often in conflict zones and could be left in danger if he presses them to speak too boldly. //
This specific podcast was a reflection on his work as a storyteller following his receipt of the Peabody Award. //
The little spot in the photo is from Hai Hai in Minnesota. It’s a Vietnamese fusion-type joint with powerful cocktails and retro charm. Walking past this table set made me think we could easily add in Bourdain and Obama to replicate the episode of Parts Unknown which featured the pair slurping over noodle bowls in Hanoi.
Time to say goodbye to Barcelona. It’s been good to me this week. I couldn’t have asked for better weather or nicer people. I always felt safe and I was never hungry for long. I was able to retrace some of Anthony Bourdain’s footsteps and honor him in the best way I know how. ¡Salud! #barcelona#travel#solo#foodie#bourdain
After a long day of exploring, I decided to head to Tokyo Station (almost got lost inside, this place is huge) to finally try something I have bucketlisted for years. This is my ramen dinner at Rokurinsha, the place made popular by Anthony Bourdain. As expected, there was already a queue for dinner, I patiently waited for 45 minutes together with other diners.
So, anyway after ordering and paying at the machine, and shown to my seat, I didn't wait long to be served with this beautiful bowl of goodness. Yumm, loved the ramen! SLURP! I was smiling like a geeky cat, because getting something done on your list is definitely an #achievementunlocked
Thank you, Tony.
Ognuno nella sua partita: tagliere, ciotole, cucchiai. Geometrie perfette
Militari del cibo
Visto e rivisto video dell'altro.
Magnetico, carnale.

This one is for you chef, @anthonybourdain
You’ve never been here but when I was looking for a place to give you a proper goodbye toast, this is it. The magnificent view from this restaurant softens even the jaded souls, not that you were one. You would have loved this place. I just want to say thank you. Unbeknownst to me, I am among the people whose lives you’ve inspired. I didn’t realize how much your works affected me until I started crying when I heard you passed. You are dearly missed. Cheers, man. 📌 The Saltry Restaurant, Halibut Cove, Alaska. =====
So today I have prepared my own first dinner - ever. Okay, might not be fully true, I've cooked dinner before, but today I made it all on my own. Since I'm watching a lot of the TV shows by Anthony Bourdain, who basically travels the world educating us on food and culture, my parents thought it'd be a good idea to let me cook. I made hamburgers, based of off the recipe by Big Fernand. Plain ground beef, bacon, onions and mushrooms. A little pepper and salt and everything's done. I loved it. I loved cooking and preparing dinner today. Maybe I'll find a passion.
Call me the next Anthony Bourdain. No, cross that out. I will never be as talented as passionated as him. I miss you, Tony. ∆
As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life - and travel - leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks, on your body or on your heart, are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt. #Bourdain 🎨: @bradleytheodore
