Pure Kentucky XO is yet another solid value in the KBD/Willett family of quality small batch bourbons. Proofed at 107 and about a decade old, it’s toffee and eucalyptus on the nose, cinnamon toast and pepper on the palate, and winds down slow and steady with a fulsome leather and spice. Cheers! 🥃
A Late night cocktail to take me into Hump Day. The Old Fashioned is by far my favorite cocktail! Not only is it a timeless classic that tastes incredible, but it is also unbelievably versitile. I can think of so many delicious variations.
I'm staying classic tonight but I'm curious. What is your favorite twist on the Old Fashioned?
Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Select from @wineandcheeseplace. I have had the Russell’s Reserve 10 year expression but other than that I don’t have much to compare this to. I am sure it is going to be good.
Excited to have finally found an @eaglerarelife up here! Had to cross into Missouri for it, but happy to have gotten one. Apparently, six bottles of Blanton's arrived in the same shipment this morning, but someone came in and bought 5 right after the first sold. I missed it by an hour 😭
So if you cross a farm horse and a racing stallion, you get a caribou? Well maybe not in nature, but there are some apparent similarities between these Sazerac Company products.
Starting from the left, Rock Hill Farms and Blanton’s are distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery using their mash bill #2 recipe. Caribou Crossing is a Canadian single barrel offering. Coincidentally, they are also in order of our preference. Rock Hill Farms is bottled at 100 proof, Blanton’s at 93 proof, and Caribou Crossing at 80 proof. Which is your favorite?
