This came as a surprise to me🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️thank you so much.
I am humbled.
For some reason, this video never made it to the gram when i needed to post it, Instagram was having hay fever i guess, hehehe.😁

Even before I begin the rant, I can guarantee that there will be some amazingly inconsiderate dicks in the comment section going on about how they're sick of all the 'feminist type' and how it's all just male bashing. (Note the use of dicks and not men because #notallmen ) So before you start your self-righteous rant let me say, it's not about you. It's never about you.
It's about how it becomes difficult for someone who has been abused to talk about it. Of how a child just thought it was a game because his parents didn't know how to talk to him about good touch and bad touch and by the time he realised what had happened, he had grown up, the uncle had his sights on some distant cousin and talking about what had happened would probably result in someone questioning his masculinity.
It's about how my mother gets worried when I return home late from work because she read somewhere about a cab driver raping the passenger.
It's about how I'm scared of the very institution of marriage because I've seen a cousin turn into a shadow of her former self because marital rape isn't grounds for divorce. Marital rape doesn't even merit a definition in our laws.
It's about how I've to forever find ways to strike a balance between sounding nagging and being overtly apologetic when I'm having a conversation with my subordinates.
It's about how asking for equal rights and pointing out blatant show of sexist discrimination aren't an infringement of your privilege.
It's about how tiring it is to be at odds with yourself in trying to justify your existence and being apologetic for it even.
It's about how if you could, for just one moment, put that self-righteous attitude aside and just talk honestly then maybe you'd realize that we're just asking to not being treated as second-class citizens. - 📝 @shruti2102 Shruti Singh
