I’m not sure what’s going on... but this book just isn’t doing it for me. I’m only half way through and it’s starting to feel like a chore. I’m sad because I wanted to love it. Maybe if I finish, I will? But it doesn’t even make me excited to watch the Passionflix adaptation.. ugh 😑 .

As it’s Christmas I’m on a self-imposed book buying ban - totally doesn’t count if your boss brings you in a massive stack of books they no longer want right? 🤣
Why is it whenever I start a book buying ban I instantly find myself scrolling through my phone and looking at various #shelfies from my favourite bookshops. 🤦🏽♀️
The only analogy I can think of is that book bans are like diets, the instant I tell myself I can’t buy anything I have a sudden urge to go on a massive spree. 😢
Anyone else on a book buying ban this Christmas. If you are good luck, we have totally got this!! 🤓
So many new releases this week... R.S Grey's new book, the Christina Lauren relese today, hopefully Luna and The Lie by Mariana Zapata and Bumps Along The Way by Taylor Danae Colbert. I've read 2/4 and I wish could get that first read experience back!
Do you feel sad after you've finished an amazing book because you'll never get that first read experience back? Closest I get to that is a reread after a year or so 😃 #bookishproblems
Check out my interview with @taydanaewrites over on the blog (link in the bio). I find the whole writing process for self published authors really interesting because they're not only writing but marketing and all the rest of it!
Didn’t anticipate that I’d be spending so much of today at a laundromat, but sometimes a Monday really feels like a Monday.
Bad news is we don’t have a working washing machine at home and I cried in the car earlier. Good news is that I’m loving reading Nine Perfect Strangers with the #bigbookbuddyread and I’ll probably treat myself to a milkshake later.
Life’s all about #balance apparently. Hope you have something to smile about this Monday! ❤️
This is the reflection in my window, not some fancy photoshopped overlay! 🤣
Today I have spent countless hours going through my TBR list and sorting it out 🙈 Last Year I didn't read even a fraction of the books I wanted to 😩 Instead, I kept purchasing them onto my kindle with the intention of getting around to it some day, but my addiction to one click has led to a full kindle and a lower bank account 😳 Given that I quit my job yesterday, I thought that one way to be more frugal would be to read books I've already purchased 😁 (but don't judge if you happen to see a brand new release on my feed or a new hardback for my shelves....I have an addiction after all!) You can see in my stories that I used the free app Trello and created boards for each section of my TBR list (e.g. Contemporary/Fantasy, Purchased, Wishlist etc)
After that, I added the image and blurb then tagged it with the trope so I can use the search bar to find what I'm in the mood for!! 🙌🙌🙌 Sometimes it has to be Romcom, other times I like it Dark or Fantasy. My moods play a big part in what I might enjoy 😊In fact some of my DNF were because it wasn't hitting the right spot on that particular day but when I go back to them, they're perfect!! It wasn't just for financial reasons that I wanted to organise my TBR pile 🤔 Last year was spent in turmoil, trying to recover from a long term bout of illness and accepting changes that I didn't want. I felt too anxious and unsettled to really enjoy reading despite it being my biggest passion. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of books on offer and couldn't seem to make a choice 🤷♀️ Now that my life has taken a new direction, I need to find myself again 😊 And a big part of who I used to be was an avid reader 📚 •
QOTD: How do you organise your TBR list?
NOVEMBER WRAP UP ‼️
I read so many great books this month and definitely have a couple new favorites from this pile.
Books I read this month that aren’t pictured:
A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti
America is not the Heart by Elaine Castillo
I think a couple of favorites that stood out to me this month were A Heart in a Body in the World and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! Both ended up being five star reads for me
I still haven’t thought much about what I’m going to read in December, but can’t wait to see what next month holds 😛
Let me know what your favorite read of November was!
Łapcie jesienne zdjęcie! 🙈
U mnie nadal bardziej jesień niż zima, więc fakt iż dzisiaj jest 1 Grudnia jeszcze mnie nie zobowiązuje, racja? 😂🙊
W weekend jednak muszę zrobić jakieś świąteczne zdjęcia, bo zostały mi ostatnie 3 w zapasie! 😱
Muszę ogarnąć rozdanie... I mam do was pytanie...
No i zawieziemy to do zwierzaczków! 😁
Przyznac się - mieliście już śnieg? 🙈

• I haven’t done an unboxing in ages! I loved the @alchemyandink Dark Arts mini subscription box and I wanted to show it off! Plus it’s the last day of fall (in my head winter starts December 1 😁) and the Dark Arts feel perfectly moody for the last day of November. This fabulous mini box included a woodmark, a Draught of Living Death roller ball perfume (YUM), Borgin and Burke’s lip balm, Deathly Hallows wax seal stickers and a gloriously perfect Mordsmorda enamel pin! 🐍
• Today was another chill day for me, though I can’t say I’ve been doing anything to really “deserve it” but hey, I’m gonna take it anyway! I am about a third of the way through An Ember in the Ashes now and still very intrigued!🔥
• Who’s your fav Harry Potter villain/dark wizard? 🖤
My first Kate Morton book did NOT disappoint. I picked this book for my first #ThankfulForBOTM read earlier this month and am so glad I did. I didn’t know much about this book before picking it up, but quickly got so immersed in this story. Her writing was descriptive and beautiful and I loved the little twists and turns that we got along the way
At first it was a little confusing keeping the different storylines straight, but I thought she did such a great job of making each character dynamic and well-rounded, so it was worth the confusion to me. I got so attached to all the narrators!
Also, again, obsessed with England and London especially so loved getting to see little British quirks peek through this story
This book had a slow build and was one that I enjoyed reading at a slower pace, but the plot moved quickly. Towards the end I became enthralled and needed to know how everything came together, and I was not disappointed! I loved the mysterious and elegant mood of this story and definitely need to check out Morton’s other writings 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5!
If you’ve read any of her other books let me know which I need to read next!
Humans, like me, can we have a conversation?
I started seeing Nora Roberts' name on the internet sparsely yesterday, but I swear it didn't click in my head that it was THE Nora Roberts.
So Tomi Adeyemi, the author of "Children of Blood and Bone" accused her of taking her book title and trying to profit off it, which is just ludicrous. I mean; a simple factcheck would have told you EVERYTHING you needed to know without anyone being the wiser but no, it had to get bloody on social media.
And all those people who bring out their claws and tear at people in the most sacred of places based on hearsay alone, what REALLY is your problem? Do better, please. Be human. Be humane.
I'm not even an author, but I recognise that the relationship between a writer and their words is a sacred one, and to just carelessly swipe at a career 30 years in the making is in poor taste to say the least.
On the one hand, I hope this all goes away. On the other hand, I hope Nora Roberts takes action. People can't just get away with bad behaviour, especially when they don't show remorse for their action and inaction. 😑.
Ok y’all my sentimental rom com holiday heart made me obsessed with this book. I flew through it last week in two days because I just fell in love with the story and needed to know what happened
This book by @josiesilverauthor introduces us to two people, Jack and Laurie, as they meet with their eyes (? Idk how to word this? They see each other at a bus stop and don’t find each other again for a year?) and the friendships, relationships, and hardships in the years that follow
I loved this book. For me it was really reminiscent of The Royal We in that on the surface it seems like it will be just a light and fluffy story, but ends up being more meaningful as you get attached to these characters and follow them through ten years of their lives. The friendships in this book are what really stuck out to me, and I think Josie Silver did a really great job of portraying the way that our relationships change as we go through different stages of life
Also I’m obsessed with all things British, so getting to see so many of my favorite things about London brought up made me so happy. (Also shoutout to Thailand! Another one of my favorite places!)
Overall this book was so fun to read, I cried real tears reading it on the plane because I’m an emotional mess most days, and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a fun, romantic, slightly holiday-themed book this winter! This book made me feel like I do when watching The Holiday, tbh. I cry but I also smile
I think if you enjoyed Love Actually, One Day, The Royal We, Something Borrowed, or the like, you should pick up this book. 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 for me!
Also if you have any other fun, sweet, Christmassy book or movie recommendations, lmk ✌🏽
It is with a heavy heart I acknowledge I do not have the resources - neither the money nor the space - to keep buying books. These are from my local library rather than the one I work in as I wanted i go and have a browse.
❓ Do you like your handwriting?
〽️ I don’t because I can’t even understand it half the time. 😂
I just received my copies of Vicious and Vengeful and I’m so over the moon! I can hardly wait but first... ADSOM. 😁
