On Monday’s I like to give my digestion a break and fast.  For 24 hours I typically will consume water, Black coffee or tea, BCAA if I have a heavy workout and bone broth.

There are tons of important reasons why I shop at local farmers markets. 👩🏻‍🌾👨🏻‍🌾 From a consumer standpoint, I spend my dollars at the markets because I know that with my dollars, I’m voting for these hard-working organic local farmers who have decided to stick to natural practices, even when big corporations come knocking at their doors with bags of 💰, GMO 🌽 seeds, and sprays to increase yields. I know that if I choose to spend my money on locally grown food vs food that could be coming to me from any number of miles away, that’s my way of saying I support the workers who are near me. Farmers markets are a great way to interact with and get to know the farmers, get outside for a walk, see all the beautiful colors, and the best place to utilize food as medicine (besides the kitchen 🙃) If you can and I believe in you, amp it up and bring your own bags 👜👜 The farmers are generous enough to provide plastic ones if need be, but let’s be real... it mainly need not be 🤗 
From a personal health standpoint, shopping at the farmers markets is something that just comes naturally and makes the absolute most sense. 💁🏻‍♀️ 3 large sweet potatoes from $3 at the market, or for $4.99 lb at the grocery store? I will most certainly take the market ones every damn time! 🍠🍠🍠 You get all that great soil still on your produce, and if I’m remembering correctly, Dr. B @theguthealthmd told me that it’s within that dirt that lies some aamazzinggg gut friendly bacteria✨ You get to eat SEASONLY with our plants; the way we just naturally adapted to do so ❤️ Some people would say $5 for a dozen free roaming organically fed chicken eggs for the week is too much, but I say that $5 for a Starbucks drink for the one time is too much.🤦🏻‍♀️ THISS is where it’s at, folks!! Nourish your body with real foods! 🍅🥔🥚🥦 I do have veggie scraps and chicken bone broth going on in the slow cooker too 😋 We had a great weekend, it’s all on this amazing prep table that we managed to get through the front door with a beautiful handmade cheery wood produce cut board for me😍 Have a great week everyone, and head to your local farmers markets when you can! 👩🏻‍🌾

Flavor is salted chocolate almond 😁These are quite oily because of the coconut oil! All ingredients are organic: almond butter, chocolate chips, coconut oil, chicken bone broth, sea salt, dates. 😁Thick oily texture and fingers get all chocolate covered but it’s so worth it because these bars are sooo delicious and soo different from any other bars I have ever tried😍😍You get very filling rich salty sweet almond butter chocolate flavor combined with something that is hard to figure out at first and then you remember: it’s the chicken bone broth 🤪🤣🤣🤣Yup these bars do have some chicken flavor in them and it’s so weird because it’s the perfect combination 🙈How can almond butter and chocolate and sea salt fit together with chicken, I don’t know, but I’m loving it🍗😁😍It’s like you get such an interesting flavor experience that you just want to take another bite and another and then open another bar, but then you won’t because these are filling!! Pan-Fried Bone Broth Steak

Ingredients
•1 boneless steak (New York Strip or Rib Eye are best for cooking on the stove)
•1/4 cup @bonafideprovisions bone broth
•salt & pepper (I used @primalpalate Steak Seasoning)
•
Directions

•Pat the room-temperature steak dry so there's no excess liquid.
•Season with salt and pepper.
•Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it begins to smoke. Lower to medium heat. •Add 1 Tbsp. of ghee (or cooking fat of choice) and place seasoned steak down on the skillet. •Cook it for 3-4 minutes. •Right before you flip it, add enough bone broth to line the pan (about 1/4 cup), then flip the steak and sear for an additional 3-4 minutes. •Remove the steak from the heat and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain. •Serve and enjoy • #guthealth #bonebroth

Sauer veg is my version of sauerkraut except I grate up red and white cabbage, different colour carrots, beetroot, Spanish onion and follow the same instruction as per sauerkraut. Just more interesting and tastier! .

New favourite soup recipe 🙌🏻 although, when it’s ball breakingly cold out you can’t really go wrong with soup...period!. 2 cups pumpkin, diced
2 carrots, roughly chopped
2 sticks celery, roughly chopped
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 red onion, diced
Small knob ginger, diced
1/2 avocado
1 tin lentils, rinsed and drained
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp shiro miso
2 cups chicken stock or bone broth
1 tsp ground coriander
4 tbsp coconut amino
Handful pine nuts

Sauté onion, garlic and ginger in olive oil until softened. Add pumpkin, celery and carrot and cook for a further 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except lentils and pine nuts and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer until veggies are soft. Pour into blender with lentils and pine nuts and blend until creamy. Recipe....
500gm organic beef mince 
1 teaspoon of curry @meadowmarrowbonebroth mixed in a cup of hot water
1 stick of celery chopped up
1/4 of zucchini chopped into wheel slices
Half head of cauliflower sliced into pieces 
1 tin of crushed tomatoes puréed or your own cooked tomato sauce
Some Parmesan shavings 
1/2 cup of mozzarella grated
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 sprig of rosemary 
Paprika

1. Coconut oil into a pan - add chopped celery and rosemary to the pan followed by the beef mince.

2. Steam the cauliflower and zucchini wheels until starting to soften (you will then finish these off in a fry pan with butter and top with Parmesan cheese) sprinkle some paprika over the top.

3. Add the broth, puréed tomatoes or sauce to the mince, season to taste. Simmer for a few minutes

4.place a layer of the cauliflower and zucchini wheels on your plate, top with a layer of the mince, sprinkle some mozzarella and repeat the steps.

Plain and simple just beef bone marrow bones, pink Himalayan salt, small chunk of white onion and ACV. Last nights #dinner became today's lunch. I love #leftovers! If you guys still have some odds and sods from the last couple of boxes then this #stew might be right up your alley! Brown some slowcooking meat, I used #lamb #shanks. Deglaze the pan with a little #redwine. Chop up a peeled #parnsip, an unpeeled #carrot, the remants of a leftover #bokchoy and some #cavolonero (no need to take the main stem out if you slice it thin enough. Trim and put in two whole fresh #garlic. Season. Add 350mL ish of #chickenstock and the same of #passata. Top up with a little more water if necessary, simmer on low for about 2 hours. We had it with some #wholemeal #bread I had made, slathered in @victorchurchill's compound #butter. The garlic is also lovely smushed up into the bread and devoured. Very easy. Delicious. I used a bread recipe from @thebrowneyedbaker which was super easy, though I didnt use as much sugar as she asked, I did use much more salt and I only had wholemeal flour on hand.
