Happy Sunday! ✨
Spending a quiet day at home. During the year we have a full, and busy schedule. Summer to me, is all about unscheduling. Don’t go chasing attractions, or activities everyday. We fully embrace not having plans as the plan. 😊
Sharing another snap of our bookshelves today. I don’t think I ever told you their story. This unit was delivered just a few weeks, before I started instagramming. We previously had a pair of ikea bookshelves, that served us well for almost 10 years. While in near perfect condition, they were looking disproportionate in the room. High ceilings commanded a larger unit, with more of a presence. Had sketched more than a few sketches, for possible built in units, but knew they would be a far off project if at all, because of the cost.
I follow many furniture and decor pages, both locally and abroad. While casually scrolling FB one day, saw one of the local design showrooms, was having a floor model clearance sale. Spotted this unit, and what seemed a too good to be true price. About ¼ or less of the usually cost! 😲 Didn’t want to delay, but because of the sheer size of it, 2x2.2 m, I knew it probably wouldn’t sell so quickly either. The pic they uploaded had the interior looking, creamy yellow. While the store wasn’t super far away, about 1.5 hrs didn’t really want to make the 3 hr round trip just to see it. So spoke to one of the showroom owners, and they WhatsApp’d me some additional pics, and a video, so I could better see the colour. Wanted to insure that colour was white. It was a bit of a gamble, but for a solid wood unit of this size, I was willing to try. After seeing additional pics, felt fairly confident, I would love it. Had a few minor flaws, scratches etc. from being the display model but nothing I couldn’t live with. Also my trusty magic sponge was able to eliminate nearly all of the little scuff marks. 😁
Being a family with growing children, nothing is too precious. I don’t mind items with a few dings, it’s sure to suffer a few more sooner or later. 🤷🏽♀️ After it was delivered it was love at first sight! It ticks many of the boxes I wanted, & became the focal point of the room.
Have a good one! 😘
Something about travelling and seeing people in their environment, far away from mine, makes me feel so insignificant, so fleeting, that it makes all my problems go away. It’s freeing in a way to see that you don’t necessarily matter in the grand scheme of things. That you’re only here for a second, that worrying is overly pointless. Because you’re not here forever, so might as well let go. I’m still on my path to unlearn what I’ve always learned, to try and get rid of my crippling anxiety, and every time I travel it helps. Getting outside of my little bubble helps. I’m vouching to do it as often as I can 💛 #Repost @sookah
Just arrived in Byron Bay for a few days of r&r and checking out a few cool makers and workshops in the area. 😌
Can’t wait to share with you the places and people I’m meeting up here!
All my remaining stock can fit in one little box 🙉 it’s a bitter sweet reality. For those of you who have been sitting on the fence here’s a heads up from me 💛 Thank you so much to those of you who have got amongst the sale so far! It’s so nice knowing the pieces purchased will be enjoyed rather than stored. Means more than you know. Sale🎈ends 1/8/18 or while stocks last x

Happy Sunday all. I am loving watching the new wall colour in here change over the seasons with the different light shifts, I thought I may find the colour too warm in summer but it’s just the opposite, I find this shade so calming and quiet. We picked so many strawberries yesterday I think it will have to be strawberries for breakfast, then today I think we’re off to Lambeth Country Show xx
