This is so important 💕

I've struggled with how I look since I was a teenager. 
I've lost so much weight that I was weak and cold all the time. I've gained weight and looked healthy but hated the way I looked and the number on the scales. Losing weight does not cure what is going on in your mind. You need to change your mindset. I'm still struggling with this every day. I still have confidence issues. I still worry over how much I eat or what clothes size I am or what the scales say no matter how much I try not to. This is an issue I'm working on but it is still an issue nearly 10 years later. I hope for a day where none of this will matter to me. That I will be happy and content with who I am. It's mentally exhausting hating yourself or questioning everything you do or eat.

The last week I've had home cooked meals for me everyday because I wasn't looking after myself and I feel better for it but the last few days I've really worried over the fact I've gained weight. The first day I saw it as an achievement, that I was making progress but the last few days I've been really worked up over it. This just shows that until you change what it is going on in your mind, weight loss or gain will always been a negative. You need to love and accept who you are as a person. It is difficult but I hope one day I will get there 🌼

1 cup Almond Milk or Any Seed Milk ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 tsp cacao powder⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 tsp honey or any sweetener you want ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3-4 marshmallows⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What would you say to them? Now say that to yourself. They won’t ever believe it if you don’t. This is the largest I’ve ever painted and I’m quite pleased with how it’s turned out. All my hard work really showed my art skills improvements, however I’m pretty bummed the Final critique where I’d get to show this installation off was canceled. I was pretty ready to show the class my nudes lol. Oh well, I have future plans to use this piece and explore the subjects of body and mind, body image, mental health, and personal reflection.

Someone told me yesterday that I have no place being a health coach because I'm not 135lbs...to which I laughed because I KNOW for a fact I can run faster, jump higher, do more pushups and strength exercises than most people who weigh less than I do. .

Our weight doesn't dictate how fit we are or how GOOD we feel about ourselves. Mmmmmkkkk??? Stop beating yourself up because you don't look like a fitness model. Some of us are not MEANT to look like that nor is it fun working towards something that doesn't really define you. I feel so fucking amazing and I weigh more now than two years ago but I also have an amazing butt (for the first time in my LIFE) and I'm stronger than ever mentally and physically. So own it. Rock it. Confidence is the best outfit!!!💓

When it comes to our bodies, our health and performance all have things we don’t like about ourselves, areas we can improve, things we can do better.
However we can turn these self-perceived flaws into assets. How?
- identify the cause, where are you currently at?
- Decide where you want to be, what are working toward?
- Create a plan
- And above all, get to work AND keep working

The only sure fire way not to get there is not to start. So if you’re really serious, start now. Why wait til next year, when you could already have a few weeks of progress under your belt and be a few weeks closer?

To be honest if you keep putting it off you’re never gonna there anyway.

This time of year always brings plenty of reflection. Looking back at all we did, and thinking about where we are headed next. This can also be a time where we get in our own heads BIG TIME.

We think about where we thought we would be by now, and wish we were further along. We think about the goals we set a year ago, and get frustrated that we don’t feel much closer to them. We look back at all the times we procrastinated, played small, and acted from a place of fear, and feel full of regret.
.
But here’s the thing: our failures get to be lessons. That feeling of shame or frustration gets to become an asset. We get to look at all the times we didn’t do what we said we would, or didn’t achieve what we know we are capable of, and find the lesson in those moments. Learn from them. Grow from them. Be proud of ourselves for moving forward from them. You’ve come so far, even if you don’t feel like it. You’ve grown so much, even if you aren’t where you thought you would be. You are always on the right path ♥️

When you take an inventory of your year, look for the lessons rather than dwell on them as failures. When you can learn the lesson you can move forward. When you learn the lesson you can let it all go. No matter what you accomplished this year you deserve to celebrate and feel proud of yourself, for both the wins and the lessons you’ve learned. So I never understood why does this LOOK SO EASY, WHY IS IT IT EASY FOR EVERY ONE BUT ME!!! WHY CAN'T  I DO IT!! IT'S FUCKING EMBARRASSING!!! I am determined to do it right..

MY CARDIO has been drastically reduced so therefore I work on STRETCHING OUT MY CALVES AND HAMSTRINGS which will help my Squat form.... according to @365fitnessfreak My form has been off for A very long time due to TIGHT CALVES which came from all the cardio CLASSES I once tought.

Although sometimes my “shape” seems to allow people to think it’s ok to tell me I do otherwise, and comment continuously on my eating and body - I EAT. Here’s to Mama making my day, telling me I’m getting a “bum” in this little gúna 🙋‍♀️😂❤️

I stopped sharing food diaries, calories, specific food aims, and tracking food on my Instagram as it was too much for me to take in terms of 1️⃣ Questions as to how I could eat this, why I eat that, where I put all my food. 2️⃣ Told me not to eat this, not to eat that, or otherwise not believing I eat what I share. 3️⃣ I realised that sharing food diaries put more worth to my day on a plate than it did ME 4️⃣ It fuelled disordered eating, fed into others disordered habits, and led me to over analysing what should not be so damn complicated.

Reminder that IN GENERAL, they say an average woman may need 2000 calories a day. If you exercise or just move your body a lot, you may need much more. If you have a higher muscle mass, you’ll need more again. If you want to gain weight, you need more again! ✅
.
DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING OVER/AFTER XMAS: .
1️⃣ Decide to eat 1000 calories a day, or drastically “fast” cause it’s “fitfam” lately.
2️⃣ Make a decision to count calories without doing PROPER research as to what YOU need. 
3️⃣ Copy that 1300 cal/day food diary because “she” has the figure you want - “She” probably didn’t eat that at all. 
4️⃣ Over analyse calories because food is about MORE THAN THIS. It’s what you absorb and assimilate. Not what you eat. 
5️⃣ A detox tea or liquid diet of any kind. 
6️⃣ Deprive yourself of food your body genuinely needs to function, or your soul needs to thrive. .
I tracked two days to see where I am at, and I am probably at around 2600/2700 most days💫 .
It’s a lifestyle, not a numbers game. They can be part of it, without governing it.

I’ve never naturally been the slimmest or leanest of girls. When I was competing in Athletics I used to force myself to keep my calories to an absolute minimum to make sure I lost weight so that I could look like the others girls did... I never did manage to look like they did.. and I’ve come to realise that’s because I’m not the same as those other girls. I was 15kg lighter as a Triple Jumper than I am now and I used to happily compete every weekend in shorts. Yet, ever since I started CrossFit, started to feed my body properly, my quads got a little bigger, back got a little wider, and I got a little (lot🙊) stronger I’ve never had the confidence to wear shorts incase people judged me for my legs jiggling when I walk. BUT, then I reminded myself that my body is my house and it allows me to do what I love. It allows me throw barbels around and continue to improve as a person and for that reason I’m promising myself to be more self confident and TO LOVE MY BODY.

Our school, and surely many others, has a serious stress culture problem. Students camp out over multiple nights in the library, overload on caffeine, stay up for days, the list goes on and on. All of this is a result of a pervasive message of perfectionism that the university, professors, and students all perpetuate. -

I encourage all students (and non students!) to take a break from their hard work and take some time to take care of YOU!  Over working yourself is not an accomplishment, nor are grades a competition. You as a person matter far more than any percentage or letter on a piece of paper. -

I am posting these because LIKE EVERYONE I am having some body doubts going into my vacation. Honestly, these feelings are inevitable and I’m not going to pretend that they don’t exist. ESPECIALLY after a long exam period of high stress, minimal exercise and not the best nutrition (I did my best! But I wasn’t perfect!)

HOWEVER, I just had a little pep talk with myself, put my head down and reflected on how much I’ve changed over the past 3 years. Not just how much my body has changed, but how much my life, my mind and my goals have changed!

It also hasn’t always been perfect - I have had my fair share of ups and downs FOR SURE! However, the common denominator is consistency and making it a lifestyle. What do you do most of the time? Don’t get hung up on the “some of the time”.

We ALL have a starting point and we all have our struggles - don’t compare yourself to one another and don’t assume that people are perfect and always have been. Because I’ll guarantee that’s not the case.

I’m on a new medication that is making me even more exhausted than usual (I didn’t even think that was possible). Once I take it, I fall asleep for a minimum of 12 hours and it’s impossible to get up before then. It’s really cutting into my finals study time, and feeling constantly fatigued makes it even harder. It’s so extremely frustrating and I feel lazy / like a bad student for spending most of my reading days sleeping :/ On top of that, i feel so incredibly guilty for taking a break to eat urgghhh -

I also spent some time today going through old photos from when I was sick, which was definitely not helpful. Going to try to stay focused and do as much work as I can today, and not beat myself up too much. -

Trying to smile through back and chest day but having real body image issues at the mo. My ideal diet is snacking with one or two healthy meals a day as i know il slim right down, so having to eat so much and be consistent with it in order to build muscle is making me feel miserable as I just don't feel im ever going to be thin enough. Diet is such an important factor in bikini competing and for me the hardest thing. 
I've always been 110% in my workouts and trying to stay positive about it all as I've come so far and I'm not the sort of person who gives up. 
Any tips for staying on track and not being tempted by naughty treats would be greatly received right now 💖

~today wasn't so bad. Actually no, I'm trying to be positive so instead I'll say today was kinda OK. I met with this school nurse person and she was rly lovely and understanding about my eating issues which was great. She understands I can't just eat and be fixed straight away, so I'm rly looking forward to seeing her again. However, the doctors called and said they need to test my blood and my blood pressure and my weight and stuff in order to refer me to a help place for eating disorders. This makes me feel like I have to prove I am troubled, which makes me not want to eat even more - just so I can show them that Im not eating. That's the opposite of help and I'm not sure what to do.💜
~today I ate alright, a tiny bit of cereal for breakfast and some nuts for lunch. I even managed a light hot chocolate but now I do t feel great about it. I had a couple slices of pizza for dinner so now I feel even worse. The worst thing is I've started to get stomach cramps and rly bad cravings. I don't know how long I can keep this going on for... 💜

I do however like these circus stars and that they have a pocket for phone or keys. i should get more colors this year so long as getting sweaty doesn’t make it look like i peed myself #leggings #bodyimage

While Living in the world of social media, the idea of "perfect" has been a subject of manipulation , a certain type of beautiful has sadly become "what is defined as beautiful". However, no one is actually born perfect, and no one will ever be perfect.
Think about all the people you've came across throughout your whole existence,  then you'll realise how imperfect is every single person. We rip out so much of ourselves to look a certain way, yet we forget that prettiness is relative. No matter how much we work to live up to "the ridiculous norms", we will fail because they simply don't exist. We were taught to hide our imperfections,  our flaws and our scars with a cover up,  to the point where we end up painting ourselves with pain. Some people cry themselves to sleep , call their bodies ugly, because of the amount of brutality and bullying they receive everyday from ignorant ones. How unfortunate is living day by day hating yourself. Being imperfect is simply being human. The word "perfection" is an illusion; a creation by humans; to make you think there is always someone better looking , more talented , smarter and richer than you. Be you , and let them be them.
