I have a temporary buddy! Meet Gracie the foster cat! Mom @abbysworldsastage took her in to make room for the pets coming in from the #woolseyfire This friendly chonky kitty is looking for a forever home. She loves cuddles and pets but has no problem keeping to herself. She gets along with other cats and could probably live with a dog, though she is not my biggest fan. As long as she has her space she is fine. No clue why her previous owner would surrender her. Such an angel. If you want to adopt her or meet her send a DM to me or my mom.
Moose is getting a Muffin's Halo in honor of our Ambassadog and ASPCA 2018 Dog Of The Year, Noah!Thank You, Angels! We couldn't do it without you! For those new to this Page. Note at the end of the posting all of the ways you can donate to Second Chances For Blind Dogs. 😇😇😇😇 Back Story: Moose is a 10 y.o. Mastiff/Boxer he was an abandoned baby at 5 weeks. My daughter brought him home and of course I couldn’t resist. He’s now 10 diabetic and totally blind. He’s a little unsure of himself and feels with his body for walls and furniture to guide him. His activity level is very low. His diabetes seems to have slowed him down and his uncertainty with walking makes our walks no more than 10-15 minutes usually in the backyard. I heard about Second Chances For Blind Dogs when I was invited to fill out an application on my FB Blind Dog Support Group. Thank You, Angels! ~

This is Andy!!!! He is a beagle who I am sponsoring through our local stray animal adoption program @saap_adoptastray He is a young beagle who had his eyes removed due to glaucoma we are trying to find the best home for him!!! He is thriving in his foster home. As I know a lot of my Instagram friends do not live in the Ohio Indiana Kentucky tri-state (where he can be adopted) area but let’s share his blog if you have a Facebook! I love this dog. ❤️🐶 I would take him and if I did not already have three... he needs a loving home!!! He has been through so much. He only has a Facebook blog. But his adoption bio by will be up soon @saap_adoptastray #rescuebeagle#beagle#beaglesofinstagram#rescuedogsofinstagram#strayanimaladoptionprogram#blinddogs#blinddogsrock @fortheloveofsmiley
Obviously I am insanely happy right now. I just picked up two double merle puppies! Both of these girls appear to be completely blind and deaf. Most people know that one of my passions is deaf/vision impaired dogs. While I absolutely adore them, the truth is they shouldn't exist. Education is the key to helping put an end to breeding two merles together. Every time I have come across double merle puppies in a litter I always hear "I had no idea". Most people have no clue that every one of their puppies in a litter of merle parents has a 25% chance of being born with vision and hearing difficulties! I don't hold any ill feelings towards their owners. They didn't intend to breed and now that they know the risks their dogs will be spayed/neutered to prevent this from happening again. They sought out help after they realized what had happened, and they even had the puppies vaccinated at the appropriate time frame by a licensed vet. Now that they know they will help to educate others on what happens and the risks of keeping unaltered dogs in the same household. These girls will be spayed, microchipped, and adopted out where they will live completely happy and fulfilled lives just like my Pyper Allyce. Thank you to Leslie for sending them my way. I'm glad I had a chance to meet with them and educate them further. And thank you to anyone who took the time to read this crazy long post!
Evie Roux sporting her new “Doggles” from @doggles_eyewear!
Step one... don the Doggles
Step two... PRAISE the HECK out her and feed her tons of her favorite treats!!
Step three... repeat until she loves them!!
Because she is blind now, poor girl is always running into stuff and banging her eyes so we decided to give these a shot...
So far so good!
