Happy birthday to the best boy a mama could ask for! This week has been chaos and today is something I've been so excited for, I love celebrating my babies. He may be tiny but he is mighty. He is close to 20lbs and we will find out definite stats next week. He started walking close to his actual birthday and grows more confident with each step. He loves his siblings and is constantly trying to help them with whatever they are doing. Despite them not really wanting his help. He has whole milk full time and loves it! He honestly loves anything he can put in his mouth. He eats just as much as the other kids do and sometimes more. He is only taking one nap a day, which I'm sad he cut his second nap out so soon. He is very stoic and we have to work for his grins and laughs. His siblings can get them from him so easily though. He loves books and playing with his toys. He is content playing for hours at a time. He is into absolutely everything and constantly on the move. He loves to steal the dogs toys and prefers them over his own half the time. He is quickly learning how to pull himself up onto things and I'm sure will climb out of his crib soon. He says dada all day long. Only has said mama a few times, but only when he his just waking up in the morning. Usually only after someone hasn't gone to get him quick enough. He loves when we sing the wheels on the bus and twinkle twinkle Little Star. He loves music and is just starting to dance to songs he may like. He is literally a ray of sunshine and the greatest blessing to our family! We couldn't have asked for a better caboose.

So much love in one little picture! ❤These girls are doing a great job adjusting to life under one roof. We are very proud of them ! Just missing little Presley this weekend
Happy Saturday!! Its just me and my little man this weekend and we've been having a blast! He was the perfect little angel while I shopped at @homesensecanada (ok ok...I gave him a TON of goldfish to eat😂). I picked up a ton of cute stuff for my step-daughters room. I'm trying to get it set up for her before shes back from camping. Time to go from a little girl room to teenage room! And I'm loving it...because if I didn't have to share my room with my hubby, it'd look similar to hers!! 😂😂 But man...that store gets me every time! So many cute things❤

Spent the day with my middle stepdaughter before she goes to college next week. It’s been bittersweet, the time has flown by. Just 4 years ago I was taking her to her freshman orientation. She is going to do great things, I’m so proud of her and can’t wait to see how she adapts to this new season.
Teenage years can be tough, but the quote “the days may be long but the years go fast,” is so true. When you hit tough times remember: kids are kids, they don’t always realize what we do for them in the moment. Do it anyway. They don’t always reciprocate. Do it anyway. There will be a payoff 💕🤗
You know what I’m thinking about? How we have become so accustomed to the finished product, that we neglect to appreciate the work that things take. This photo is of my spouse hard at work to make us some fresh pasta. I’ve always thought that it was TOO hard, and required tools that we didn’t posses— boy was I limiting the greatness that lied within us. •
So here we are, on a random day, my handsome decides to tackle one of his favorite meals, and make us some homemade pasta. Of course, my insides freak, but something about him being assured, calmed the worry in me. He did his research, and made this beautiful masterpiece. PASTA! •
Moral of the story: when we put in the work, we appreciate the reward. We can dictate all day long, but if you’ve never been through it, you won’t know what feelings you have coming out of it. And for the sake of this pasta, we were amazed, excited, proud, and ready to tackle more, TOGETHER 💋👌🏾❤️ to all my folks in relationships- build your foundation; set your walls firmly; and decorate your interior the way that you want it. Thanks for watching 🙂 #love#connection#blackmagic#blackfamily#pasta#homemade#work#effort#together#relationship#blendedfamily#mom#life#blackmom#brownskin#investment
Attending a Trauma Workshop this weekend and found this in my cup of tea while discussing the importance of gratitude in hard or painful situations. Stepmoms, I know there are days you wonder what the heck you’ve gotten yourself into and it’s so tempting to think about how much easier your life would be without the chaos of stepparenting, coparenting and the ex. But, this IS our life and the truth is, we have so much to be grateful for. So many people would kill for the life we have. No, it’s not perfect, but it’s YOURS and every single moment, even the hard one, is a precious gift. Don’t let anything or anyone steal YOUR joy. Now get out there and dance! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #stepmom#stepmomproblems#stepmomlife#stepmomma#blendedfamily#blendedandblessed#blended#blessed#grateful#perspective#dance#mom#lifeisgood#lifeissweet#godisgood#saturday
There they are. Both ready to start their new journeys. So proud. So excited. As a mom I don't know if I could be full of any more emotion than I am right now looking at these pictures of them.
Any tips as we navigate having two kids in college??!!
Tough loss. Definitely not the outcome we wanted, especially Mikey #LVAces#dadsofdivorce#dadsquad#dadlife#blendedfamily#interracialfamily#itsnotwhatyouthink#Letsgo#Repost @lvaces
Not the result we wanted but we left everything on the court in Dallas.

Hi everyone!! I’ve finally decided to dedicate an account to the honesty of my mom life. I don’t have a new home to show renovation pictures of so instead, I’ll share my before and after of the epic messes my children make. I will share my many moments of anxiety. I will share the daily struggle I feel about being a working mom. But I’ll also share my successes. Well, at least when I *feel* like a success. 😂. #momestylife#blendedfamily#momofthree#balance
This week has been amazing beach day, bug hunts, walks, pottery painting and a London trip not sure we could have fitted too much more in. I have LOVED having a solid block of time off work although I can already feel that Sunday sinking feeling looming but I’m suppressing that along with the chocolate craving for the packet of m&ms that I told little man he couldn’t eat because it was too late - will not be a hypocrite!! 🤦🏻♀️ #summerholidayfun#stepmumlife#stepson#sometimesitsthelittlethings
I am so incredibly thankful to have such an amazing husband. Things aren’t always sunshine and roses. We fight over stupid things occasionally, and we don’t always agree, but those times are few and far between. He works so hard for our family, and he supports ALL of our wild things, and he is so good at finding ways to connect with each of them, from playing candy land with our littlest to letting our oldest park my car and showing him how to change brake sensors (after fixing the brakes of course). #blendedfamily#happilymarried#woodfordswildthings#norwoodfordpartyof6#woodfordpartyof6

Thieves Toothpaste, Thieves Laundry Detergent and Thieves Dish soap (soap hack: keep the bottle 1/3 full and store the rest in a mason jar under your sink. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and top off with water. Lasts forever!)
Thieves Essential Oil: A MUST HAVE for Fall and Winter. I diffuse it all day and I swear it keeps us all healthy. It’s amazing!! We also take it in a capsule with lemon and oregano oils if we feel something coming on. •
Lavender, Peace and Calming, Cedarwood Essential Oil: The Magic combo I use every night in the kids diffusers and mine for sleep. Swear by it!!! •
These products never leave my online shopping cart and are delivered monthly to my doorstep rather than buying them at Target or Wegmans. In return I reach my $50 minimum monthly order requirement and get 20% back as well as free products!! It’s insane!!! I’m happily obsessed!
Lola's father has two kids from a previous relationship. Rodney and I dated for 6 months before I got to meet them. Two months later, we found out I was pregnant. We waited to tell them in fear of the reaction. At 4 months, we broke the news to them that they were going to have a little baby brother or sister. His youngest, Zackery, was thrilled. Started giving me boy names immediately. His oldest. Makayla, had a complete meltdown. She had said over and over again that she didn't want more siblings. It was hard to swallow. I was fortunate enough to have been able to build a relationship with his kids in a very short amount of time, and now everything was changing.
When Lola finally arrived into this world in April, everyone. Makayla included, were so in love with her. I am so grateful to have Zackery and Makayla in my life. They have taught me so much about love and patience. And I am very proud of my small, blended family.
Anniversary post #2 ... These kids! They were young, innocent and hurt through divorce. They grew up and Gods hand has led them , kept them and graced them with beautiful families of their own . They love Jesus. They know life isn’t perfect. But, they know redemption too. Roman’s 8:28 means so much to me because though divorce was not good, God in his great love worked all things together for our good and more importantly used the hard to teach us grace and forgiveness. I love these kids and their spouses...I could not be prouder than I am of each of them. We married on 8/18/90 but that day we also became a family. Today 8/18/18 is our 28th Anniversary 828! #blendedfamily#godwithus#grace
Maybe it’s too soon or maybe we don’t speak of it enough that it needs to be said. And it needs to be said more often. ....
We hide behind shame. We hide behind the no one will understand. But what if we all do. What if by breaking the shame we shed light on how messed up this world is. ....
You see this picture here....well it is not the whole picture. Yes, we are smiling. Yes, we seem happy to be with each other. But what you don’t see...
5 hours after this, we drove home in silence. We barely said goodnight to each other. I slept on the couch. Today came and we haven’t had pleasant conversation and I’ve cried more than I should. ....
And I want to delete this post. But I won’t. I won’t let the fear of what will they think, who will see it stop me anymore. ....
Satan is working hard at destroying families. He has infiltrated our homes with substances that are toxic. He has filled out homes with access to cruelty, inappropriateness and the list can go on and on. He has people believing and acting in ways they shouldn’t. ....
I know I have been through today before and I know I will venture out of it. I will continue to work on me. I love this man with all my heart and I know that Satan is strong. My God is pretty mighty and I know He will prevail. .....
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1John 8:3. I will do as my father in heaven instructed and I will destroy the works of Satan.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but the memories are priceless.
The pictures we choose to display on our feeds each hold a special memory for us. What would you do if you could have a book of all the pictures you post? My guess is that you would be just as thrilled as I am. The good news is that @tremo.baby.book does this for you and it only takes about 10 minutes! You simply log into your Instagram then choose the package just for you. The photos are clear, the cover is gorgeous and I am so impressed by the quality. It will definitely be treasured here for many years to come. Check out our stories to see a deeper look into the book and be sure to use STEPHEN10 so you can create your own book of memories.
So many hard questions lately... ..why can’t I have white skin?
...why doesn’t my older sister’s dad or my brothers’ mom live with us?
....why is my hair so curly?
...why don’t more kids look like me?
From the beginning I know being a blended, mixed race couple and family would have some struggles and questions but I know all families are faced with some type of questions.
But I didn’t necessarily think these questions would come from my toddlers.
I have always tried to point out their special differences but also their similarities. Unfortunately I suspect these questions will only get harder as they get older.
Please god grant me the ability to teach my kiddos tolerance, strength, perseverance, and self love. May our home be a place of comfort, love, and truth. May we as parents model behaviors of honesty, determination, and respect.
