Work clean for clean results!
When I’m applying bleach roots, especially long roots like these, I section off each quadrant of the hair with foil. This allows me to apply my bleach cleanly, without any overlapping as I work through the sections.
Saturation is key for an even, clean lift.
Anyone who has ever worked with me will know I am the messiest colourist to ever wield a brush, but I keep my mess on my workstation and never the hair!
In my whole career tackling bleach and tones has been one of my biggest challenge and I love a challenge!
I wanna talk about the technique I used to touch up this bright platinum while maintaining the integrity of her hair.
To start part the hair in four quadrants, always start at the back of the head because hair is more resistant back there, slice thin sections and apply @redken flash lift with 20 volume only on the regrow, trying to stay away from any of the previously colored blonde.
Then apply a piece of cotton right in between the line of regrowth and the old blonde. The reason why I like to use cotton is because once the bleach oxidizes it expands and causes overlapping which creates breakage.
After applications is finalized put a regular shower cap on and put under heat, alternate 10 minutes under heat and then 10 minutes without heat and so on until the first quadrant on the back is ready, then rinse the first quadrant and apply @olaplex No 2, after 10 minutes rinse the next quadrant and apply olaplex, continue this until the entire head is finished.
To refine tones I used @redken #shadeseqgloss 9v, 9B, 9v equal parts with clear.
Bleach and tones can be scary but if we take as many persuasions as we can and use quality products it will help you provide your clients with quality results
Hair color and cut for @milayahanson
Another snap of the extra extra gold on the gorgeous @shaunajmarie from the weekend.
A lot of blondes think of golden as just meaning "brassy" - but this is red carpet ready, glossy and most importantly amazing for my clients eyes and skin tone.
Who doesn't want that?!
@kelly_.marie was ready to go lighter and brighter!! We love this gorgeous blond color! .………………………………………
What did it take to get this blonde!? This Is the outcome of a carefully processed bleach & tone service!
Step 1- lighten the mid strands, which had some older color on them.
Step 2- go back through and lighten the roots.
**olaplex in every step**
Step 3- tone Hair to counter unwanted warmth and to give an ashy finish!
Step 4- Apply #olaplexstep2 , rinse , cut + style = finished !!
- I didn’t need to touch the ends with bleach because they were light enough to begin with! .……………………………………
What do you think of this full head blonde!!?? 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
