Dexter dog here! You know, Moms Runs little buddy, the best #dog ever! That's what she tells me everyday, so it must be true. Anyway, mom comes home after running almost 3 1/2 miles with one of her old #runningfriends that was in town for a few days. Guess what? She tells me she needs a few more miles and I get to go! Woohoo! Mom almost never takes me on her runs. I heard her talk about my short little legs once......as if I could help it! Isn't that why she chose me anyway, cause I'm cute, short, and cuddly?
Anyway.....so, I'm all excited, while mom puts on my harness and leash because I know that means I get to go somewhere that isn't the back yard. It is just me and mom this time. All alone, me and mom, no Alfie! Remember Alfie? He always gets all the screen time because he loves to play fetch. Not Today! No.Sir. Not. Today!
So, anyway.....I think mom forgot my legs are all of maybe 2 inches long. I got tired fast and I think mom felt sorry for me so we got to stop and walk near the water. Guess what? I tried to make new friends with the ducks, but mom was trying to be all anti-social and kept pulling on my leash and wouldn't let me get close enough to bark with them. I did get to cool off in the squishy, nasty water! I wasn't brave enough to drink it though. I've watched enough episodes of Naked and Afraid with my mom to know that isn't the smartest idea.
#Mom made me start #running again! This time we didn't get to stop when I saw more friends, the neighborhood geese! Mom wouldn't let me get very close to them either. That's ok. They didn't seem to be very friendly anyway and they started hissing at us. I was like, what's with all the negativity feathered friends? We're living the #dogslife !
Two miles with my mommy..... Oh, I better get off here! It sounds like mom is coming up from the kitchen! She spends a lot of time in there eating ALL the food! Sometimes she shares with me and sometimes she doesn't. My favorite is carrots! Yummy, yummy carrots!
The look you give mother nature when she tried to scare you. 1 drop, 2 drops, dark clouds and thunder followed by heavy rain. A thunderstorm!
What a run. I set out for 6 easy feeling miles and to enjoy some good views of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline. Almost 3 miles in, it poured! The competitive side of me kicked in and completely threw out the recovery run and took off! What was supposed to be 6 miles turned into a total of 10.5 miles total and I feel like I barely did anything today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Side note--I wonder if anyone ever told mother that one of my very first runs took place in a thunderstorm. It's quite relaxing actually.
Now to enjoy a good rest day tomorrow!

In the middle of my 8 mile run at Runyon Canyon this weekend I decided to up the ante and throw in some Karate forms. I figure if I can do it after running 8miles up and down a mountain, I can do it perfectly when rested or when needed. .
As always one of my favorite quotes from @willsmith “If you stay ready you don’t have to get ready” 👊🏾👊🏾🥋🥋
Nice, easy, and relaxing 5 mile recovery run splashing in the rain. It kind of feels like I didn't just do 15 miles yesterday. Awesome!

Don’t think about yesterday. 🔙Think about today and getting better. 💯
6 early miles 🏃🏽 watching the sunrise. After two weeks of virtually no running (hamstring), felt good to pound the pavement and move the body!👊🏽#mondaymotivation
