More info on the recording of Ouroboros Stirs: Part II - Bass
The main parts were tracked with a modded Ibanez ATK 305 or a Warwick Corvette FNA 5. These went into a BSS AR-133 and Avalon U-5 DI box.
The DI's were reamped through:
A dbx163X into Sansamp BDDI into a Markbass LM II into an Eden 4x10 for a cleanish sound
An Analogman DOD YJM308 into a Sansamp BDDI into a Peavey TB Raxx tube preamp into a dbx160XT for a more overdriven sound.
Finally a Mesa Boogie Studio preamp into the Calibre 50+ power amp into a guitar cabinet with V30s for gainier sound.
These three signals plus the DI from the U-5 were then mixed to taste to create the sound you hear on the record.
The Peavey TL-6 was used for the clean bass section in the middle of "Maze of Delusion" going from the dbx163X into the Calibre 50+ clean channel with a Boss BF-2 in the effects loop.
The P-bass was used on "With Spirits Adrift" going straight into the U-5 into the dbx160XT

Behemoth was phenomenal, probably my favorite performance out of the five bands that played but I'm probably bias since I prefer their style over thrash. Can't wait to be able to see them again!
It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since @monstermagnetofficial's hugely popular album Powertrip came out. Check out what our man Nicholas had to say about the album and it's impact on stoner rock. Spotify playlist included! Link in bio.
Maryland Deathfest purchase no.5
Watched these guys play on the big stage at MDF on Sunday. Then after my bus ride home thr next day I had the chance to see them again in Pittsburgh, but this time it was at a basement show for an intimate crowd. It may sound funny but it was really one of my favorite concert experiences. Getting to see a band one night at one of the biggest metal fests in the states, then the next night in a basement in Lawrenceville is really one of the things that I think is fun about the metal scene. Plus I met the dudes and they were super nice, humble guys. And they signed my record. Again, one of my favourite concert experiences. (Technically I bought this is at the #pgh show the next night, but I'm counting it as an MDF Purchase)
