Feeling on top of the world! Spontaneous weekend getaways are the best. Spending a few days hiking and biking in the mountain air 🗻 amongst the pine🌲 and aspen trees has been so good for my soul. Thank you Mr. Schwindt for being my true love and walking by my side on this magical, beautiful planet! 💞
Not all of our days on the road are great, but yesterday was! We walked around the super cute town of Mt. Shasta, hiked Black Butte, and crossed into Oregon to spend the night in another cute town, Ashland. Unfortunately we woke up to a flat tire (originally thought it was slashed but maybe not according to Theo?), so most of today has gone to fixing that and other van mechanical work. Thank goodness @calderabrewing is just up the street from the tire store, so I shall chill here with beer and happily wait! 🤗🍺 #fulltimetraveller#blackbutte#hiking#exploremore
Hiking through the fog with a couple goofy hiking buddies. I told Parker that it is “cone” conditioning for Bachelor this year. Her goal is to boot pack the cone once a week throughout the winter. It took us an hour thirty to summit Black Butte which is pretty awesome!
Moose treks, Chapter 3: Hiking Black Butte, near Mount Shasta.
The scene on this mountain is like no other, filled with rocks of all sizes and a constant window to the world — be it a view of Mount Shasta that will make you believe you can climb it in no time, a bird’s eye view of the town of Weed, or a perspective on I-5 that makes big rigs look like they’re driving slower than our hiking pace. Thanks to @carrj49 for joining me and helping us find our way to the trailhead and through the rocks, all the way to the top!
For Oregon’s upcoming 160th Anniversary I designed The Oregon Flag Blanket with my good friend @_tom_baker and Pendleton Woolen Mills is producing it in their historic Pendleton, OR mill. It’s a new take on an old flag. The two sets of stripes represent Oregon Trail wagon wheel tracks. I’m running a Kickstarter next month to fund a production run of blankets. In the meantime, I have just one blanket right now available for a giveaway and not many people know about it. You can enter to win the first one ever made at the link in my bio.
This is for you, Oregon.

I feel loved and inspired by the quality time spent with family and friends over the past week. I’m an extrovert by nature, but with a full tank of socialization, I welcomed a solo run-hike up black butte tonight. This trail and the view have been actively used for over 100 years to spot forest fires🔥 #blackbutte#hikeoregon#fireoutlook#smokyviews#thankyoufirefighters
