I went out with minimal makeup on 🤩and got hit on ALL NIGHT. Ladies dont forget your natural beauty and confidence! Being a vegan has it ups and downs, yes I have cheated on my lifestyle. It's going to be one of my greatest goals is to break a habit that has been instilled in me before birth.✌
As soon as I finished packing this delicious food, I organized a lunch for myself. The smells, the aesthetics, the nutritional benefits! Your LO is winning with this lunch.
Rainbow pasta salad, buttered baguette, an orange, and a kind mango & apple bar.
Tip: Soak your onion slices in cold water to soften and tame the strong onion scent.

Homemade burritos are so versatile and fun!
Black bean & brown rice burritos, sweet potato chips, and honeydew melon chunks.
Hint: If you have a picky eater that doesn’t care for veggies, homemade burritos are a fun way to sneak in vegetables; chop your veggies finely and wrap them up!
Rarely do my girls ask for a snack. In fact, snacking isn’t something in which we indulge. “How do your survive?” you might ask.
Well, my girls eat 2-3 solid meals a day, abundant in a variety of whole grains, fruits, and/or veggies.
My eldest daughter, V, recently began school. Since a portion of her daily school schedule is dedicated to snack time, we took a trip to our local grocery stores to stock up on some treats.
Here are some fun, tasty, and plant-based snacks V enjoys.
P.S-Most days, my daughters’ snack box returns half-full. 😉
Omg Blossom was amazing! The food pics don’t do it justice because we devoured the food before I remembered to take a pic. 😂I never had fine dining vegan 🌱 food! The cordon bleu, the blossom burger, the nachos and pizza were AMAZING !!! Highly recommend and yes I will be back. Thanks for the suggestion @travelingblackvegans #vegananniversary#blackandvegan#vegannyc

May 20th was my 1 year loc anniversary and I just can’t believe how time flies. The picture on the left was taken in August of last year so that shows you the progression! Crazy what a year can do.
One thing I didn’t see coming with this journey was judgement. I dealt with the hard-core stares, the over-questioning, and the awkward process of trying to respond to peoples curiosities without falling into the trap of over-explaining my decision to get locs.
When I first got my hair loc’d, people at work and around me would say things like “I could see you with some nice sister-locs🤨,” or “are those locs 🤔?” Or “Are you still happy that you got them done so big?🧐” I know some people don’t mean harm but other times it was clear that it was coming from a place of judgement. The answer to those questions are girl bye, yes and hell yes!
This has taught me so much about how people perceive us per our outer appearance especially as black women. And it has made it clear to me what the beauty standards are in this country. At some point you just have to drown all that noise out and do you — be shameless. If you live your life trying to please others by living up to their standards of beauty or living up to anyone else’s standard period, you will be miserable.
This journey has been so liberating and I can honestly say I enjoyed every bit of it. Never fear change because on the other side of fear is ultimate success.
