In 2016 printmaker and installation artist Nic Annette Miller began to focus her attention on the movement of European starlings. More specifically, the way their dramatic flock formations called #murmurations reflected her internal state.
"While admiring murmurations, both the strangeness and beauty they project, I was overcome with this positive outlook towards my depression and working on ‘All I Can Do.’ This became my mantra," she wrote in an essay on @she_explores.
For the launch of her new European Starlings Tattly, she worked with photographer @catalinaphotog to continue her #murmurmotion study. Head over to their feeds to see the completed stop-motion video. (Still photo courtesy of @catalinaphotog)
