I compared measurements from January and this morning. I wish I’d measured around my butt earlier...better late than never! At least now I know. I’m gonna be throwing myself into glute development. (Swipe for numbers. Slide 2 is January, Slide 3 is now.) My legs got a lot slimmer in between these months, and then returned to their original circumference. I feel more muscular now though. I’m happiest about the fact my left and right sides are now symmetrical! Although the bicep growth doesn’t suck either! #fitfam#improvementseason#bikinicompetition
Left was in February 2017 when I first started with my coach @bradbjarn and @sikathleticus and right was in June 2018, 3 days out from the @canadianphysiquealliance #vandijklegacyclassic ! By hiring an educated, knowledgeable coach you are ensuring that you are not only receiving individualized nutrition and exercise plans but also setting yourself up with a support system for those days where you are struggling to stay on track with nutrition or get yourself to the gym! I would not be where I am today physically or mentally if I hadn’t decided to branch out and ask for help on working towards my aesthetic goals! Different type of transformation here... left, I was eating on an extremely strict diet, I thought competing was the only way to get the body I wanted, and my food was so plain at certain points that I just could not choke it down. I was under 97lbs when I stepped onto the stage. My exhaustion was unreal, I was grumpy, I wasn’t happy at all and I couldn’t figure out why. •
Competing wasn’t for me. Simply put. Some people thrive from competing and i think that is wonderful, but we all have to find our niche. However, I knew I wasn’t mentally strong enough to workout and eat correctly alone. A couple years later, on the right, I finally caved and joined a community of women. •
Fast forward to today- I have branded my own team, earned a beach retreat, began earning income, I’m healthier and happier than I’ve ever been, I have more friends than I’ve ever had, my moods are better, I get to eat my waffles, burritos, margaritas, etc., I don’t spend hours in the gym-I do my workout at home, I am extremely close to earning a trip to LA and there’s legit no end in sight. I’ve created a team based on women who have a good heart and wish the best for others. Because of this, I now have women and men coaching alongside me also earning these same benefits. Its crunch time! Only 4.5 weeks left until #UFEHalloweenMayhem and everything is all coming together!
I remember when I took the picture on the left and how shocked I was seeing the changes happening to my body. Now comparing to the picture I took today on the right, I can't help but feel so proud that I trusted the process enough to keep going! #TransformationTuesday
Being mentally focused has been the greatest challenge. To keep going when you're too tired or lazy or just don't feel like it is really hard to do. I am so grateful for the hard days that challenged my mind because I was able to overcome them and get to where I am now. I am so looking forward to what the next 4.5 weeks bring as the final countdown to the stage starts soon!

Please don’t get caught up in being obsessed with a specific number. Do I still track my weight? Absolutely I do but I take everything into consideration as well.⠀
I consider how my clothes fit, how much muscle do I have vs body fat, how do I feel on a daily basis and how much I weigh. It all goes together and it took a lot of patience and discipline to transform my body into one that Im proud of.⠀

Started my journey to my first bikini competition about a month ago.
In a month I’ve gained 4# of muscle and my booty grew 1/2 an inch🤯
To be honest: I’ve been having a difficult time
It’s not easy to build mass when I’ve been trying to lean out for so long — mentally speaking
But after meeting with my coach, I can see that I’m moving in the right direction.
I’m keeping my eye on that beautiful little bikini sparkling on stage ✨
&& I can reminding myself that I’m about to be in the best shape of my life in a short 26 weeks 💪🏼
Gym selfie 🤳🏼 I’ve learned so much about myself so far since starting #prep I have had many deep thoughts. Serious questioning. Mega highs and some lows. It’s not all glamorous! It’s not just eat right and go to the gym. It’s SO much more than that! So much behind the scenes that I’m quiet about. Each day is a new agenda. Food prep. A new lift. Another early fasted cardio, late night lift and then an additional cardio on top of that. Add in work, a home, FOUR KIDS, a husband, school, sports, a social life(what’s that?!) and you have a recipe for disaster! No! That’s not how I make it through the day. I make it through my day knowing I have responsibilities, ones that I have to crush and CHOOSE to do! I am NOT giving up. I am a fighter. I am in competition with ME! So if I let ONE of those things fall, I lost, it’s on ME. I am being pulled into so many directions all day. I wear many different hats-mom, wife, ME, stylist, friend, gym rat. I have to balance all of that. It’s unreal! No one else can do my cardio, eat my food intake for the day, push harder each lift. It may be messy, chaotic, and exhausting, but it’s all ME. Has it changed me? Absolutely! For the good, and a little I’m not liking, but I have to stay in control. “Trust the process” is something my coach has said from the beginning, I have, I just have the unfortunate habit of questioning things and trying to make everything perfect. I’m going to step on that stage in November with 100% confidence I did everything I was suppose to, gave it my all and had amazing people behind me every single step of the way to get me there! Trying to build your body is insane. It’s no joke. It’s NOT for everyone. It’s just as much mental as it’s physical. TRUST 👏🏻 ME 👏🏻! If that were the case, we’d all be doing it. I’m going to power through these next 6 weeks with grit, focus, and drive because I have it.
