This time last week I had just started my 3-month Powered by Me bikepacking journey. Now, I’ve covered over 500km across Holland and Germany. I had known for many months about my time off work, so in theory I had lots of time to plan! Alas I planned as much as I thought I needed to and tried to not get stressed out about the ‘what ifs?’ But - here’s just some of the things people asked me and raised as their concerns about my plans, as well as the thoughts that were in my head! * How would I wash?
* Where would I sleep?
* Will I be scared on my own, lonely?
* How will I stay safe?
* Will I enjoy it? Will I hate it?
* How will I navigate?
* What if my phone breaks? What if I get sick?
* What will I eat?
All these questions, going round and round my head. And you know what? I didn’t have all the answers and that’s ok. I needed to be as prepared for me to feel confident and comfortable that I was doing the right thing for me at this time in my life and that I have an amazing opportunity. So here’s to trying new things and testing myself and to putting those ‘what ifs’ out for good! At the end of the day it’s all practice and so long as you’re sensible you can figure most things out! If I don’t test myself and try these new things I’ll never know right? Watch this space for more details about week 1 on my blog tomorrow 🚴🏽♀️💨 🇳🇱🇩🇪 #cyclinglife#cyclingshots#cyclinglove#cyclingphotos#bicycletouring#bicycle#biketouring#biketour#adventurecycling#bike#adventure#cycling#bikepacking#Instabiclcye#cycletouring#womenscycling#womeninsport#girlsthatride#lifeontwowheels#cyclinglife#cyclistlife

Turkey has quite quickly over taken bulgaria and Serbia in becoming my favourite country. Last night this farmer/shepherd moved me from my camping spot in the woods to a place closer to his village. He spoke no English and the translator app wasn’t having much success. At the village he called over an English speaker who explained he was moving me because of bears, if only I had known I could have told him of my previous heroics. The day after this was filled with amazing views, the pictures just don’t do it justice, @photos_by_francis I need you. The people all beep, cheer me on and take photos as they pass. One guy offered to tow me on his scooter, I gave it a go but at risk of ending my trip through injury I had to stop and continue to cycle slowly up the hill. #travel#biketour#cycling#biketheworld
