New day, new state. I’m in Puebla now. And that’s the volcano the locals call “Popo”. The road is so steep around here so most tourists don’t venture into the local towns, but I sure did. Endless farms of limes, corn (elotes), peaches (duraznos) and avocados. The locals are eatings tons of elotes right now because of the harvest. And I had quite a few myself, like ten. The corn is really good roasted and topped with mayonnaise, chili powder, salt, lime and crumbled cheese. Also ate mole with chicken and lots of tortillas. I stopped in a small village at noon for some Doritos Incognita sabor and a soda. As usually, the locals hanging out outside the store drinking tequila ushered me over to relax and have a drink. I don’t drink liquor anymore lately cause I don’t wanna be drunk. But I drank a Negra Modelo and stayed the day. Found some good weed and got to see the farms. Everyone referred to me as “gringo” in this town, but most of them were drunk. I don’t mind people calling me gringo cause they say it jokingly. If people are being hospitable then I don’t take offense to jokes, especially if I can barely understand the language. I’ve met countless people on tour and the drunk ones are always hospitable but they get overwhelmed by my presence and want to show off. I have to remind myself that I am the only Americano bicycle tourist they have ever met and they are excited and curious. I also have to remind myself that my goal is to bicycle around the entire world and that I have more opportunities than most people I will meet. Opportunity that can be ruined by one stupid disrespectful act or one sentence. So I smile and laugh and get high on my weed so I don’t give a crap about anything but the scenic images in front of me and the amazing feeling of being on an adventure for a lifetime. The reality is, we are only in competition with ourselves. If you move everyday and strive to stay on the path you have chosen, then there is not much more you can do to please yourself. So celebrate with the food you want and smoke some weed so you don’t see things so serious. I’ve been in Mexico for over a month now and I love it. And I’ll be on the Gulf Coast in less then a week

Day 25:- My brakes are fixed! And I did it all by myself! On closer inspection, in the light of the morning, I realised the brake cables were fine, but the brake pads were worn. Luckily I brought spares with me so now I can cycle without the fear of death again! I spent the rest of my rest day checking out Würzburg and getting in a game of mini golf. I even managed to find vegan Schnitzel. Funny how I call them rest days but I always end up being quite active. Today I cycled about 30km! Anyway, back to sleep in this campsite full of rabbits. Here's hoping they don't eat my tent while I sleep! @ Würzburg. .
