I’m so terribly excited I will mail my book exchange choice tomorrow! I‘m in love with this project and absolutely adore the idea I will be able to give a stranger one of greatest gifts I could possibly think of - the first copy I bought of my ever favorite book. The Picture of Dorian Gray completely changed my life as a fourteen years old already too passionate soul, I’m really hoping it will do the same for the person who is about to receive it from me, whoever she might be.
I wanted also to tell you I want my instagram to become more “writers-life related”, so I’ll try to show you all what is like to be one.
I’m also currently reading something that rested on my bookshelf for far too long, The Uncesored Picture of Dorian Gray, the actual unedited manuscript Oscar sent to his publisher - who changed and edited it a lot. A comple must-read. Perhaps I will talk more about it and its takes on homosexuality in a future post. xx
Good morning book lovers! It’s a beautiful day today here. The warm winter days are my favourite and I’m hoping it will get rid of my head cold. Hope your day/night are treating you all nicely. .
So, I had promised that I wouldn’t give myself a TBR this month, however looks like I’ve done just that by piling these four onto my bedside table. Guess I’ll have to see if I can actually get through them. This month I have chosen -
✖️ This Savage Song - V.E Schwab
✖️The Astonishing Colour of After - Emily X.R Pan ✖️The Knife of Never Letting Go - Patrick Ness
✖️The Price Guide To The Occult - Leslye Walton
I’m currently reading This Savage Song and I am loving it so far! Have you read any of these? What should I read next? .
QOTD - What bookish promise have you made yourself and couldn’t keep?

Have you recently had any story inspiration?
#storyinspiration has struck me again! After seemingly ages of not being inspired at all. And, of course, the said plot bunny has a magic system and fantasy people--something I've never done before. But I'm also super pumped about this story because it has #characters that I just absolutely love already! So here I am snatching any snippet of time I can find to #brainstorm this #story for hopefully a great #NaNoWriMo writing month.
“She reached for his hand. Curled her fingers around his. The sensation of his skin under hers was a feeling unlike anything she had dared to imagine. Alone in the library with only the ancient scrolls of old Nikan to bear witness, she pledged her allegiance.”
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 bloody fantastic stars to ‘The Poppy War’ by R.F. Kuang. If you follow me on Twitter then you already know how in LOVE I am with this story and these characters. I’m not even joking when I say I had tears rolling down my cheeks more than once while listening to the audio book. (Which I highly recommend, friends!)
It’s not a story for everyone. I encourage you to read Rebecca Kuang’s website for the full list of trigger warnings beforehand. The influence from the 1937 Rape of Nanjing and Unit 731 is strong in the second half of the story, and I won’t lie.. It’s hard to get through but so important. Like Rebecca says on her website, she wrote it “because silence hurts so much worse”. Thank you for your words. I can’t wait to get my heart destroyed in the next two books. ❤️📖
