Here's my latest kit! It's now my new favorite. I love the colors, and I especially love the theme, "Packed Bags."
I was reminded of a message my pastor's wife shared at our women's retreat, inspired by a devotional by Max Lucado. God has given each of us the exact gifts and talents we need to accomplish the plans He has in mind for each of us! He has personally packed our bags! A link to the devotional will be in my profile if you want to read it.
Day 14. “Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.”
Philippians 4:5 HCSB
This bible is specifically for my 100 days. I wasn’t sure how much mixed media I wanted to do in it since I did so much in the book the first time around. But today, I was so inspired after my 10 minute exercise that I decided to just go for it. It’s what I love. I used pieces from my flow journal I bought from @southerngals_designs as well as color shift paint that she recommends. I love how it turned out. #biblejournaling#biblejournalingcommunity#bibleartjournaling#illustratedfaith#100daysofbiblepromises
"Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods..." ~ Joshua 24:14-28 ~
For HE is our God. When we think of "gods", most often we thing of grand idols like statues and fictional supreme beings... but, one of the definitions of "god" is: an adored or admired thing of supreme importance". How many things in our lives may be taking on the roll as a "god" in our life? We may not think of them as "gods", but... do they take more of our time than our one, true, living GOD does? Do they aquire more of our attention, more of our money, more of our hopes and dreams... our do we chase more of them than we do the presence of God? What can we do each day to CHOOSE to follow the ONE, TRUE, LIVING GOD? Comments welcome.

Most peeps on IG don’t know what it means to “prime a pump” haha. And even those who might know what I’m talking about probably have never had to actually prime a pump in their lifetime. So here’s the rundown... before running public water, people had “wells” on their property... not the “wishing well” kind of well but an actual cistern where the water was pumped from underground to get it flowing to the house, pipes, and outlets. The image seen here (from @apileofashes 💜💜💜) is an example of a “spigot” or outside faucet from which the water had to be pumped from the well. Aren’t you glad you tuned in for today’s lesson on “water spouts with KellyJean?!” 😂🤣hahaha!!! Listen y’all... some of you know i have felt a calling (for a very looooong time) to write a book. Many of you have encouraged me and even prayed for me (TYTYTY!!!) and i have finally not only had direct confirmation but complete understanding why it took so long for me to receive that direct confirmation... God was priming the pump of my heart... to know what kind of book would be my first... to eliminate strongholds that would hold me back... to give direct purpose for the proceeds of said book... and i could go on and on with so many revelations I’ve been given about how the “pump was being primed!” Oh, that’s what you call it when you need water from an old time well... you prime the pump, wait for the dirt to get out of the way, and then DRINK the freshest, coldest, best tasting water you’ve ever had in your entire life😊!!!
@projectmanana ...i will soon be in touch about the book we discussed 😉. This is YOUR’s and God’s story to share. I hope i honor your ministry well by being the messenger🙏🏼!!!

Lessons from the Sea (part 8)
Calms the Storm
Luke 8:22-25/Matthew 8:23-27
Today’s passage is one of my very favorite examples of the power of Jesus. Jesus had just been preaching, teaching, healing and was tired. So, while his friends sailed across the lake, he curled up in the boat and took a nap. Friends, Jesus was fully man. He got tired, hungry and worn down just like the rest of us, what a comfort! While they were sailing, even with Jesus in the boat, a storm came up. This must have been a pretty significant storm if it scared the fisherman, I always picture Peter and Andrew like the guys on “Deadliest Catch” big burly dudes that are used to hard work. This was no ordinary storm, because it rattled them to their core.
They woke up Jesus in a panic and told him they were going to die. Jesus rebuked the storm, this term “rebuke” is the same one that Jesus uses to cast out demons. I am going to go out on a limb, and say this storm was demonic. I can’t wait to get to heaven and watch the movie reel of this scene. Just a word from The Word and the storm was gone. Amazing.
In Matthews version, there is an important note. Before Jesus calmed the storm, Jesus asks this question: “Why are you afraid?” If Jesus is in your boat, what do you have to fear? No matter what comes against you, Jesus is there and able to calm the storm and bring you home safely. Spend some time journaling what it is that is causing you to fear and submit all your concerns to Jesus, who STILL has the power to calm the sea. (Thank you for joining me in the 8 part devotional that was first published as the June devotional content for @purposedrivenessentials #pdemini kit, a monthly subscription for #bibleartjournaling )

Connecting with heart.”
Day 20 of #taiwanteatravelartjournal
I’m so appreciative of having a daily practice that supports me in so many ways. I used to think it always had to stay the same but I’m learning slowly to trust in the ebbs and flows. If currently looks like breath meditation followed by Bible art journaling. Do you have a practice? I love leading #100daysofbuildingcreativity because it was what helped me to learn I can show up everyday and love knowing I can practice daily and love using the 100 days each year to strengthen or discover something new ... like with this year’s #100daysoflovewithspirit which is all about the heart love!
The woman at the well in the previous post, once she believed, received Christ as her salvation & her satisfaction & had all of her desires met in He, Himself! The word “satisfaction” is not often used to describe our Christian experience. When a person is satisfied, he feels he has what he wants & that he has no more desires.
God loves to have His desires met & to see His children satisfied, completely satisfied in whom He gave us: Christ! This brings Him much pleasure. In Christ everything for our spiritual life, growth & transformation are met! God lovingly & incredibly graciously gave us His very best- His beloved Son!
Salvation we have a handle on, but what about satisfaction?
Think about food & drink, satisfaction & pleasure come to mind. This is one of those areas less explored in our faith & has many layers. Eating & drinking of Christ ( outside of the context of the Lords Supper) is weird & peculiar & often avoided by many. However, we come face to face with it in God’s Word ( John 6&7 ) A truth like this is integral in growing, maturing & transforming as we live out of the Life of Christ. We need to eat & drink to live out of our own physical lives! Very simple really!
You might say well it’s metaphorical. It’s easy to pass over metaphors as they are considered not to be literally applicable & we can ignore them if we wish or take hold of the rich symbolism & treasures they contain & explore them further as they relate vividly to normal Christian life. So what of this truth and getting a handle on it? As the image here points out living water is available to us as is food IN Christ, how do we access & enjoy it’s transforming life-giving qualities...???
DELIVER FROM THE PIT
Job's friends got really good at putting words in his mouth ... But were they accurate? When they delivered these messages ... did they take the time to seek God's heart or did they speak words from their own understanding?
Job 33:24–25 (ESV): Deliver him from going down into the pit;
I have found a ransom; let his flesh become fresh with youth;
let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.
I think Job's friends meant well ... They wanted to figure things out for him ... They wanted to have him restored ... but at what cost? Would they still have a relationship at the end of this all?
Supporting Job through deep grief needed the guidance of God. God had a plan but everyone involved needed to let go of their stubbornness and embrace the brokeness.
Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and a concern and consideration for others. It is considered a virtue, and is recognized as a value in many cultures and religion. (Wikipedia) ⠀⠀
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)⠀⠀
A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself. (Proverbs 11:17)
I really enjoyed creating this digital Bible journaling spread. The Scripture is Psalm 139 in the Passion Translation, focusing on verses 13-16. The journaling reads: "God, thank you for packing my bags, for making me so mysteriously complex. You have great plans for me, plans you had in mind as you were knitting me together inside my mother's womb. And you equipped me with the gifts and talents then that I need now to do what you have called me to do. Wow, God! That's so amazing!"
Check back tomorrow to see the new kit I created and learn the inspiration behind it.
We are excited to announce our new design team, The Creative Faith Crew (CFC). They will help others by encouraging and inspiring others through Bible journaling! Each member of the CFC will receive free digital products from Bible Journaling Ministries to use in Bible journaling, discounts to share, and chances to win fun prizes. They’ll share their creations on social media and let others know about our ministry. Plus, it’s only a three (3) month commitment! We are accepting applications through the link in the bio. We plan on launching the team at the beginning of October, so we are accepting applications through 9/27!
Job 32:7–10 (ESV): I said, ‘Let days speak,
and many years teach wisdom.’ But it is the spirit in man,
the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. It is not the old who are wise,
nor the aged who understand what is right. .
It is interesting how these men identify themselves as wise but where does wisdom come from? We can have knowledge, experience and biblical understanding but does that make a person wise?
The Almighty = Understanding = Wisdom
Acrylic on my Bible... Journaled today on Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” It’s best to seek God first and always make Him first than seeking worldly treasures. ❤️
If you have trusted Jesus Christ, you are now located IN Him. In previous posts I’ve written much about this priceless location that the Apostle Paul speaks of that is so often passed over in the church today.
This pic is the woman at the well. Jesus approaches & offers her salvation & total satisfaction in the way of Living Water that will always fill her, quench her thirst & be totally sustainable for her. In other words He offers her Himself, 100% Himself, as the One who will revolutionize her life from this point on. Can you see the question mark upon her face. After her encounter with Him she has no more questions. She just can’t wait to tell the others in her locale...She could be a picture of humankind & she could be a picture of the church...
“But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV
I forgot to share this page that I did for @creativeretreat last week 🙈 This month’s devotional has been great for me in this season!
Check out my process video over on the Creative Retreat blog and YouTube channel to see how I made that fun crepe paper embellishment 😉
God brought me this devotional just minutes before I needed the encouragement from it. My husband told me yesterday morning that he wasn't going to church anymore. It wasn't a surprise to me as he has been present in body only for a long time. He has drifted away from God. But it still hurts. I'm so thankful that God knows the prayers that came out as tears yesterday.
How do you deal with stress & anxiety?
What are your daily practices?
For me the power of prayer & meditation have helped immensely. Being conscientious of my thoughts and limited beliefs has helped me live in the present moment.
However the biggest teachers of all have been my children.
With Stella almost ready to come home, I started to resort back to my “old” fearful self. I was in my head had 10,000 things on my to do list, and 20,000 thoughts 💭
She quickly reminded me that living day by day and in the present moment is what she came here to teach us, it’s what our family needs.
Let's chat about something for a minute. Do you see opportunity or obstacles?
Where are you in life lately? Living your dreams?
Or does there seem to be obstacles everywhere you turn?
We can make up a million excuses for those obstacles or we can make a choice. Take a risk and plunge into a new opportunity. .
Find the opportunities that present themselves. God may be giving you a HUGE sign and you might be missing it. .
