Barn amazing!😍 this cool barn belongs to @blessedmommatobabygirls Patsy and her family! This is a coordinated painting with her home that I posted earlier this week. It was so much fun to paint!
I am taking one week away from Instagram, for some family time before starting school. Feel free to message me...I will get back with you Monday, August 27th. Have a great weekend!
We made it! Almost one year after getting our building permit we got occupancy on our house! I’m so grateful and relieved to be in before school starts. The kids are in their own beds and we’re slowly moving things in. It’s actually been nice for me to move, cook, clean, decorate, putter, and then repeat 🤣. A lot of our stuff from the rental was in the garage or crawl space so I try to tackle some each day. I feel so blessed and grateful to live here! Happy Saturday friends!
Built a bench for the awkward space at the end of the hallway to display a couple of my plants ✨🌵🌿✨ I got to play with a lathe + practice a wedge technique with this one 🤘🏼😸 I feel so good when woodworking and got some smaller projects to add onto the website in the near future. In the meantime, give me a holler if there are smallish wood project items you’d like to see on the site 🙌🏼💛
This is your friendly reminder that social media is a HIGHLIGHT REEL! ✋
It’s so easy to get caught up in the comparison game based off what you see in the feed. And ya know what? You’re probably not getting the whole story on there.
If you’re feeling that tug of “I’m not where I should be,” or “I’m not good enough at this,”, whatever it may be, I just wanna say:
- You’re exactly where you need to be.
- You’re exactly as you should be.
- Attach to the process. Learn new things. Work hard. Be good to people. Everything’s gonna work out better than you could ever imagine!
Wherever you’re at in life or business, we are rooting you along and wishing great things for you!
Is it okay that sometimes I still abide by the rule: “when baby naps, you nap” even though my babies are 2 & 3?? 😇😴🤫
Most Saturdays, if I’m not napping with them 🤗, I’m doing all the laundry.
Here’s some pics of the roughed-in plumbing showing off more of our home’s “guts.” •
The laundry was a space I feel like we hassled over the most. We really couldn’t designate the BEST area to place our laundry room, but the basement was NOT an option... 🙅♀️
1- We considered the upper floor, many’s pros overriding cons... but it would have been a small stackable space & we needed more room with all the loads of wash we do day to day.
2- Cutting up part of the addition was our other option, but when it came down to it, we realized how much of our window views this would take away from.
3- Thus, we concluded to create a small area, between our front living room and our guest room. •
I’m also posting some video of the laundry space in our stories & to our demo/reno highlights. 💦👚👕
We are only 4 weeks away from our parade of homes! We still need to add the final touches to this exterior, which are custom wooden shutters and iron window boxes with coconut liners on the white stucco sections, paint the front door black and of course, the landscaping. This home has already sold, so you will only be able to visit this home during the parade of Homes. In another week, I will be busy decorating this home! For those of you who haven’t followed along on this Homes process, this is a home I designed from a vision in my head, like every Parade Model, and then I do all of the selections and decorating. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without my husband @jcrislawrence who helps me throughout this process since he is a home builder with @josephscotthomes
I’m excited to share the interior once it’s all decorated, Bc I am not decorating safely! I’m going out of the comfort zone but I’m sure all of you will appreciate seeing something new!
@plantedandblooming_girl ditched the faded fabric on her porch furniture and recovered all of her cushions the no-sew route - she used a hot glue gun! Her hard work totally paid off 💪 We wish we were spending our afternoon here! What DIYs have you taken on to amp up your porch this summer? Show us using #bhghome !
Finally found the right chair for this space. I was surprised to find myself gravitating to this piece, as I had been looking for something more modern. My style is always evolving, and I love how its curves add just a little bit of “traditional” to our modern space. It even got the “Ty approval” which means it’s meets his ‘comfy’ standards 👌🏼
I’ve recently been working on designing multiple units in a beautiful property in Venice for the talented @franklyhouses. Here’s a peek at one of the bedrooms. Still not finished with this one, but happy with the progress so far 💫🌾
Definitely not a picture you’d see in home decor magazines but this is what Saturday looks like 🤷🏼♀️😄 We are currently waist deep in geography puzzles and on deck are some board games. Oh and I’m laying halfway in a fort. We originally had different plans for this afternoon but the kids have demanded “chill and swim time”. Guess we are more tired from the first week of school than I thought we would be! 😂😴 Hope you all are having a relaxing weekend! ❤️
How chic are these bohemian throw pillows !?!! @alexandmike got them from @target ❤️ (less than $22 each)
If you’ve ever shopped for pillows, you know they ARE NOT CHEAP!! It’s great to know places like @target have great quality + decently priced pillows!
Happy weekend, everyone! This week #ontheblog I chatted all about our favorite homekeeping tips and tricks, which give us more free time for fun on Saturdays (and offer bits of sanity during busy weeks). ☀️ Are you team make your bed everyday? What is the strangest thing you have washed in your dishwasher? Do you clean the shower while taking a shower? #toopersonal ? 🙋🏼♀️ Would love to know what little things you do during the week to keep up on the #home front.
My sister knew I’d been eyeing this @ikeausa hanging lamp for a while but couldn’t decide if it would work in this space. She found it on @offerup (brand new!) for 1/2 the price!! That was a no-brainer for me & now it’s hanging pretty above our table. Some things are meant to be 🎶 I guess :)
Sleeping in late on the weekend basically ceases to exist after you have children. 😅 My body has now adjusted to waking up at 6:30 am everyday no matter what. My oldest is an early bird and wakes up when the sun does. Will he ever sleep in?! Doubt it. Oh well! 🤔😌 Happy Weekend everyone!! 💛
Finally home —
Throughout all of our construction, the one thing I was a bit more particular about was the purchase of our dining room table. —
I didn't just want any table. It had to have character, it couldn't be too dark, or too light. I wanted rustic, but not too rustic and it had to compliment our 100 year old light hardwood floors. So when we walked into @28furnitureco and saw this, it was mean't to be. —
We're so looking forward to making memories around this beautiful table for years to come.
Black and white —
When it came to picking tile for our downstairs bathroom we had initially envisioned something a bit more trendy. But as the pieces were coming together we wanted to opt for something a bit more classic. —

Out with the old in with the new
We finally replaced the giant Ikea drum chandelier over the dining room table
Now just waiting on our new table to arrive. Then who wants to come over for dinner? 🙋🏼♀️
Mini spa retreat. 🌿
When I moved in with Andy one of the first projects we wanted to tackle was our bathrooms.
They are incredibly small, but as to be expected for a 100 year old home. While we teetered with the idea of knocking down walls to make them larger, it just wasn’t in the budget.
So we did our best to make them light, bright and airy and feel bigger then they are.
Our upstairs is my fav, I love the hexagon marble, white subway, and simplicity that is the small white vanity with marble top.
Before clients or friends come over I always find myself lighting a candle an hour before they come over so the house smells warm and inviting. .
What is one thing you do before guests arrive to make your house feel ready? .
@antiquecandleworks is one of my favs. Hand poured and they smell amazing!
