French dining at one star Michelin and whopping 4.42 rating at Tabelog, Lature where chef is an avid hunter who respects the game he hunts. The chef specialises in game meats cooked using French techniques. This is their second dish which is kinda like a terrine tart comprising of three game meats: deer, wild boar and bear! An interesting contrast of flavours and textures indeed!
Please tell me you don't spend $15 (YES I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES) on "healthy" granola from the supermarket. Please! And promise me that if you do, you'll try to make it at home instead...it is outrageously easy, legitimately healthy and honestly the best granola you'll ever eat!
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews)
1 cup other dry ingredients (e.g. dessicated coconut, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, raw quinoa, puffed rice, wheatgerm)
2 tsp spices (e.g. cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, all spice, nutmeg)
1/4 tsp salt
1/3-1/2 cup oil/melted butter (melted coconut oil, sunflower oil, rice bran oil) *see recipe note 1
1/3-1/2 cup sweetener (e.g. liquid honey, maple syrup, agave, rice malt syrup, brown sugar) *see recipe note 1
1 tsp flavour (vanilla or almond extract)
1/2 cup dried fruit/other add ins (Optional)
Pre-heat oven to 150°C/300°F
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Combine wet ingredients in a smaller bowl.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and combine well.
Spread mixture on a lined rimmed baking sheet (or roasting dish) and bake for 35-40 minutes. Check after the first 15 minutes and stir, then check every 10 minutes until starting to go golden brown and crisp.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the tray before adding mix ins (if using) and transferring to an airtight container and storing in the pantry for 2 weeks.
You can use anywhere from 2/3 cup -1 cup of liquid ingredients depending on your preference. More sweetener makes it sweeter and more clumpy, more oil also helps with the crispness of the granola. I typically use 1/3 of a cup of each but play around and see what you like!

Fear is a funny thing. I feel like we often go through life missing out on things because of fear. Fear of what people might think, fear of something going wrong, fear of going out of our comfort zone. I actually waited about 9 months before launching my account and blog because of fear! However, once I did take the plunge, stopped fearing judgement, failure, and being uncomfortable I realized there was nothing scary to begin with! 😁
