If I was going to use one word to describe this book, it would be intriguing. I finished it not really knowing how I felt. Short chapters and first person perspectives made this dark and disturbing tale a book you just cannot put down.
It's a crazy ride filled with jealousy, lies, violence, greed and suspense that shows you that what you see on the outside isn't always the truth.
Well, it’s official. I have a cold. 🤧 Hoping I can kick this thing before all the Thanksgiving festivities next week! Doing my best to rest today and nourish my body with good food, including my new favorite beverage.
Golden Latte Recipe 🌻
> Small nub of turmeric
> Small nub of ginger
> 1 Tbsp Coconut Butter
> Sprinkle of black pepper (activates the turmeric)
> Local honey (nature’s cough medicine ☺️)
> Hot water
Add all to a blender for 1 minute and enjoy!

4 days into a new rotation and you can officially classify me as a neuro nerd 🧠🤓
I am LOVING my rotation in the neuro ICU and I gush about it every day (just ask the other interns I eat lunch with 😂). The brain has always fascinated me (neuro and cardiac are my two favourite areas), but what’s been even more amazing is witnessing the brains ability to heal. It’s so humbling. I’m ready for a weekend to recharge, but I’m also counting down the hours until Monday 🤓
Pretending like I have the confidence to pull off this hat. 👒
Cheers to the weekend! I've been making an effort to plan LESS and it's actually been kind of amazing. Alex and I have had so much more time to relax, decompress, chill, and get things done around the house. (We finally removed 3 radiators from upstairs & repaired the walls!)
I constantly struggle with the feeling that I need to be DOING something. I feed off of productivity and I can have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with needing to accomplish things. Over the past 6 months I've tried to carve out time for doing nothing. It's actually a little harder than I thought it would be but I'm learning!

I woke up feeling like I swallowed razor blades in my sleep (not a nocturnal activity I’d recommend, by the way) so breakfast looks like this.
Gluten free oats made with banana, hemp seeds and @InsideOutNG unsweetened almond milk, topped with more hemp seeds, almond butter and blueberries and honey and lemon tea, all devoured whilst snuggled on my reading chair with a book and my @fordignityau blanket (featured in my Christmas Gift Guide earlier this week!).

Pictured here (and recipe below) is a *healthier* version of our pal Mashed Taters: Roasted Garlic Cauliflower Mash. BUT before I share the recipe, I also want to share that I will DEFINITELY be enjoying real deal mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is 1 day of 354 others in the year, so I plan to eat intuitively and fill my plate with the things that make my heart happy next Thursday. Mood plays such a huge role in overall health and I know that depriving myself of a lil extra sweet potato casserole is gonna make me sad, so BRING ON THE SIDES BAYBEE!
Phew, now that that’s out of the way, here’s the quick and dirty (and EASY— 4 ingredients y’all) recipe for this BEYOND cauli mash (for me, for the other 364 days of the year):
1 head garlic
1 head cauliflower
2 Tbsp olive oil + dash for garlic
1/2 tsp salt
Chop garlic in half and smother in olive oil, wrap in foil and roast for 1 hr at 400. Chop cauliflower into florets. Steam or boil until soft. Add garlic, salt, olive oil, and cauliflower to a high speed blender or food processor and run on high until silky smooth consistency is achieved. Serve and enjoy! #fresherica
