Last night I lead my first salsa song. I was terrified and in my head the whole time. If you have ever gone to one of my classes you would know that salsa is not in my wheelhouse. I messed up a bunch but I still did it. Then after class a gal came up and thanked me for doing that song because she just got back from Central America and it spoke to her.
We have a quote in our house and it goes like this "DO IT SCARED." Doing things scared is better then not doing it at all. That song wasn't for me, it was for the gal it spoke to. I get that you may not want to do the things that scare you, but just see what happens if you did. ✨✨✨

Bottom line, I'd be willing to try this again, but probably a different flavor profile. I'm curious if you've tried a detox tea that you'd recommend? -
Motivation can be sometimes hard to come by.
We are ALL human! Even those people that we look up to as our echelon of what we aspire to be…they don’t have the drive 24/7 either. I find that little things can help my motivation. Waking up and immediately working out, getting off work and changing out of my dress into workout clothes so I don’t sit for too long, prep lunches the day before…All of these things help, but I will tell you what can really help..my girls!!
Being apart of a team of amazing ladies is by far the most motivating thing for me. We support each other, we push each other, and our community just keeps getting stronger each day. We work out together and motivate one another every single day! When I feel like I can push my workout to tomorrow, they encourage me to get it done!
We are independently strong, but even stronger together! So if you sometimes lack motivation or drive, think about joining our little family! I promise you, you won’t regret it!

I came up with this phrase over 21 years ago. At that time, I faced a pretty dramatic personal upheaval and had to decide what course of action to take as a result. Thanks to divine intervention, good raising, and my independent streak, I chose to stand strong and take a giant leap into a new chapter of life. No settling. No compromising. No accepting less than the best for my life. Even while the drama was happening and I was emotionally broken, I knew in my core that all was well. To this very day, I’m thankful for the hard times. This topic hasn’t really been discussed about enough, so lets break it down piece by piece. You don’t need to be consuming copious amounts of protein in order to build muscle, now I know a lot of people would argue and say that it all comes down to how hard you’re training or how much muscle mass you already have, but I like to keep it real and support what science & research has to say. Several studies (which Ill post in the comment section below) have shown that there were no differences in muscle gains or strength between groups that consumed 0.6g/lb bodyweight versus those that consumed 1.19g/lb bodyweight, regardless of the lifting experience the groups had. The truth is that those bodybuilders that we see consuming crazy amounts of protein are using exogenous hormones/drugs which is why they get away with large amounts. Magazines and supplement industries promoting the consumption of proteins are not wrong in the sense that they’re just trying to make profits. They dont care if you put on muscle mass. Try to go for quality of the protein instead of quantity. Anyway, I hope you gained some insight and can make informed decisions in the future.

I can give you something for EACH of those EXCUSES (because that’s exactly what they are, an easy way out). They are an easy way to stay the same. But if you want change, if you want to build strength, if you want to lose fat, and feel more confident, then I have the external solution for you. But if you choose to hibernate with your excuses and not work on a better you, I can’t pull it out of you. You have to be willing. YOU have to show up for yourself. I can’t do it for you, and neither can anyone else. It’s your story.... write it.

I’m starting my morning with intention and gratitude. I’ve noticed that the days I do this first thing are the days that I can find joy amongst any situation. When I don’t start my morning with intention and gratitude, my day just randomly occurs around me and I find myself being less productive and less joyful. It’s important for us mommas to have this quiet time before we begin our day taking care of our littles. So much of our time revolves around caring for them that we have to intentionally make time for ourselves. Fill your cup first today momma , so you can pour out without tipping over.
Enjoying peace and stillness in the empty yoga studio. Thanks to my early riser daughter I’m starting to enjoy the mornings more than ever. Most days I tell her to go back to bed and that it’s not time to get up yet but the first word out of her mouth is eat. How can I tell her no? But those minutes of her eating, making coffee and enjoying the calmness of the morning has become one of my favorite times of day. It’s almost as if there’s no time passing. And since there’s no heat at home here I sit in the warm studio getting another chance to enjoy the calm stillness of the morning ☀️ Wishing you all a peaceful day! 💕🙏🏼
I’m learning that your body should feel warm and good after a workout. If you feel your anxiety is heightened, your heart won’t calm down, or you get snippy and impatient : you may not have may not be engaging in the right workout for you!

This is my form of self-care : stretching after an awesome @yogiapproved power yoga session with @jenniferpansa (when i would normally be tempted to jump to the next thing instead of pausing to savor the moment.) 😉
Planks can be effective in helping to gain core stability, but hanging out in one position for minutes at a time can get pretty boring. If you can hold a standard plank for 30-45 seconds, try some different plank variations to challenge yourself. Pammy is doing a variation called the Body Saw (top video) and the Lateral Body Saw (bottom video). We added 10lbs to her back because, well, she’s Pammy 💪💪💪🧡🧡🧡

Have you heard the saying can’t see the wood for the trees?
Let me explain sometimes when you are really focused on certain things it can be pretty easy to overlook things which are dangling right in front of your honker.
This is a random collection I know but essentially they have come from conversations I have had with people over they last few weeks.
Conversations where I have pointed out all of these things and it seemed be ping a light bulb on in their head as to why they seem to be struggling to make progress or maybe progress has stalled.
If you don’t make sleep a priority within your life you are basically fucking yourself over both from a physical and mental perspective.
To be clear this isn’t about being perfect this is about getting the most sleep that your true life allows basically not not screwing around doing pointless schniz when you could sleeping.
Your body sees stress as stress it doesn’t know how differentiate the response between stress you want and stress you don’t so you have to manage it you are a human not a robot so you can only take so much at a time before things unravel. Oh and guess what helps yep sleep!
If you want to lose fat it doesn’t matter the name of the diet your following if you aren’t in a deficit it will not work.
I feel like there is still some misconception that calories don’t matter so long as your saying the diet name loudly enough...They do and remember fat yields the highest calories per gram so you definitely need to pay attention. Maybe drink coffee black or with milk not butter!
If you first name is inconsistent and your last name is impatient then you need to rename yourself.
I'm not totally sure why you think that if it took you 10 years of consistently having bad habits to gain weight and get unfit why being inconsistent with new behaviours and having expectation of things changing in 6 weeks is actually realistic. It’s a hard pill to swallow you need to choke it down because it’s the truth.

Awww.. those words stung a little this morning 😞 if I’m being honest!
It’s HARD! Especially when the hurt runs deep. When you see and feel the pain it has caused.
I am reminded that forgiveness is not forgetting. ❤️ It is not always intended for the other person, but more for the one giving.

#MEDITATION is increasingly more relevant and important to our everyday health and wellness, both individually and collectively as a society. .
📰 A recent #Forbes article noted findings from several studies that showed key evidence of changes within the brain's structure and function after practicing different forms of meditation consistently over 2-3 months. .
📚 A new study by the Max Planck Institute used 3 types of meditation modules:
~ 1st "PRESENCE" to train awareness, focus and attention using the breath and internal body sensations. ~ 2nd "AFFECT" to enhance empathy and compassion. ~ 3rd "PERSPECTIVE" to train mindfulness and focus in observing ones own thoughts non-judgmentally to better understand the perspective of others.
🤓 After completing the total 9 month study (3 months per each module) using participants 20-55 years of age, they found enhanced thickness in both anterior prefrontal cortex (PFC) & anterior cingulate cortex (ACC); essentially improving brain function in these regions within all 3 test modules. It also improved participants' overall well-being, reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression.
💡 The significance of these findings not only further highlights the benefits of meditation to us individually, but more importantly, its global impact on our society.
🌎 Our modern digital world has made us more interconnected than ever before, yet our world appears more polarized and divided than ever. .
😑 Different forms of meditation have many proven benefits, both individually & globally. If we all did our part, collectively we have a greater chance to bridge cooperation and understanding; unifying to build than to divide.
