The countdown is now on until the very final exam of my university degree...16 hours until it’s finished!
I needed to burn off the mixture of anxiety and excitement, and clear my head for a last ditch cramming of information. A run is good for that, but for some reason this was a bit hard and #slowaf . There was the usual dinosaur sunning itself, and a magpie swoop, both of which are part of springtime.
16 hours to go 😆 🥳 🎉🍻🥂👊

Leo and I have a lot in common. We both suffer from hayfever and are both doing Movember!! 👨🏼 Please donate to our campaign here. The link is in my bio, thank you! 👍🐶 #movember#menshealth#beyondblue#puppy#leo
Sadly I did not get to participate at @toughmudderaustralia because I am a broken human, so here is a pic of me spectating.
However, I took some good action shots of @thechildrenspreschool, @thepeopleschiro and @afnorthkellyville completing the challenge.
Thank you to everyone who donated to @beyondblueofficial which my amazing mum organised through her preschool currently raising $2198. It is not too late to donate if you wish at https://toughmudder-sydney-2018.everydayhero.com/au/the-children-s-preschool
Day 18 of Movember!
Please donate, link in my bio.
On average, one in eight men will experience depression and one in five men will experience anxiety at some stage of their lives! That’s about of our brothers, fathers, husbands, boyfriends, friends.
I’m raising money to help shine a light on this and get men the help they deserve and make our community a better place for everyone!
We had six or seven volunteers during the 2018 Commonwealth Games here at the Gold Coast: as drivers, visitor hosts, ushers, direction pointers you name it. Among them were (from left) Mick Gannaway, Merle Finney, Ian McDougall and George Karsai. Ian was also honoured as a Queen's Baton Relay Carrier for founding Bloke's Lounge, where older males can meet new people and make new mates. So we now know 80+ fellas we never knew before. Many have become mates and some are camerados (I love this term): somewhere between strangers and friends! Many of our men volunteer at various organisations across the Coast, giving back to their community even though for some it is their new community. But mainly we're about combating social isolation and loneliness by encouraging friendship through socialising and recreational activities. blokeslounge.org is the place to check us out.
I haven't posted in 3months.
Finding out that my partner was diagnosed with a rare, what we initially thought, terminal disease, is not something I have handled all that well.
I'd just started to feel like I was getting back on track with eating and excersise has turned into 3 months of focusing on helping my Superman in the battle for his life.
Amyloidosis- a rare blood disease/cancer that makes the natural proteins in the body clump together and suffocate/ eat away at organs. This also produces Myeloma, which is a cancer in the bone marrow.
I've had to endure some pretty fucked up shit in my life but having to watch my partner go through this has got to top the life pile of shit cake I have produced in my almost 30 years. Holding his hand while he tells our 3 kids that Dad might not be around much longer was the fucking Glassay Cherry.
But he fights and I fight with him.
Is it selfish of me to say that I have lost who I am in the process?!
Can I be candid and say that I have fallen apart?
I haven't been to the gym in months. When I get home I am so exausted I sleep. If I'm not sleeping, I drink or eat. People talk to me but I can't retain what has been said. My head is so thick and full I get dizzy and my muscles hurt for no reason.
I could lay in bed forever and not think twice about it.
I feel guilty that I am not doing enough to help him or help the family. I feel guilt about not being at the gym or not working hard enough.
My nervous system has gone into meltdown to the point that I myself had a trip to the emergency room.
Then I feel guilt that I am falling apart in a time when he needs me the most.
I am sad and I am angry every minute or everyday. ************************************* #amyloidosis#cancer#amyloidosisawareness#leukemia#leukemiaawareness#mentalhealth#life#gym#guilt#keepmovingforward#onedayatatime#minutebyminute#candidpost#candid#questions#answers#superman#mybestfriend#myworld#kids#kickcancersbutt#together#handinhand#workinghard#living#existing#beyondblue#love#soulmates

Life is full of decisions and the frightening unknown. The attempt to foresee your future based on difficult decisions you have to make currently results in insanity.
Mental health has been a huge focus for me this year. Conciously working towards a place where I can maintain a level of positive mental wellbeing has made an enormous difference on my life and access to services provided by mental health charities and providers has been all important for me to do that.
So if you’re free on Sunday there is a beautiful community event happening northside in one of the most beautiful private gardens I have ever seen. The lovely folks at Villa Verde are raising funds for Beyond Blue by opening up their garden to visitors and having a local fete. If you’re free please go - not only will you be raising money for an incredibly important mental health service - you’ll also be giving your own mental health a boost by breathing in the ridiculously beautiful gardens. x .
2nd year if Tough Mudder! This year was much harder. Recovering from a cold made the course very hard. But that’s life- sometimes it’s just very hard and you need to push yourself a lot. My team was amazing and I’m SO proud of our first year Mudders @deep_meethi & @mojoudidnt. Also special thanks @christopher.p.g who joined my the second time. We don’t complain, we contribute! #toughmudder2018#motivation#contribution#teambuilding#team#beyondblue

Do you know why I started Pilates HQ? It's really how our HQ values came to be!
So Here goes..😋
I've had anxiety & depression for a long time. And one day a few years ago I decided that I needed to look after me, and to do that I had to make a change.
For me this meant, taking more time out to recharge, doing work that I loved & surrounding myself with a good network of family & friends.
So I started teaching more Pilates, & cut back my work hours.
I noticed that when I was exercising & teaching Pilates I was at my best.
And so I decided that I wanted to use Pilates to help others do the same,
💗To take time out for themselves
💗To feel amazing physically & mentally
💗To become part of a supportive community.
💗 To be their happiest, healthiest & strongest version of themselves.
So to all of you who come to HQ you are supporting more than just a business but you are supporting me, my dream & my health so thank you.💗
