We won’t see this view and trail for quite awhile as teams continue to work to revive the beloved Napali Coast trail, rebuild the roads past Hanalei, and help with the homes of so many who experienced loss or devastation to their structures and properties in the floods this past April on Kauai’s North Shore. I’m that much more grateful to have gotten in some time here with @sassaronie not long before the spring storms came. Looking forward to being able dip my toes in this river once more in time, when the land has healed, and the trails are safe for nature lovers to explore. There are so many tools and tips to help in your journey we call life. If unaware it’s okay. Follow your gut it will guild you to where you need to be or not be. .
The truth is inside you. .
What you focus on is what becomes becomes powerful. The message is real and comes fortified with some serious science. It’s called experience-dependent neuroplasticity. The research around it has caught fire and the findings are powerful. The implications for all of us are profound.
At the heart of the research is the finding that experience changes the brain. Just think about that for a minute: You have incredible capacity to change your brain through your experiences. Up until the last decade or so, it was thought that the brain stayed fairly much the same and wasn’t open to influence or change. We now know that just isn’t true.
Each of us has a brain that is designed to be malleable and plastic and open to our influence. It is constantly shaping itself to be the best one it can be for us. Our experiences are the fuel for this shaping and everything we see, feel, experience, sense and do is slowly but surely changing the architecture of our brains, sending gentle instruction on how they can build to best support us. .

Warm up for 5min on a low to moderate pace (no hands or open palm touch).
1min double step, 😓 30sec side cross over step (each side), 😓 front single step, increasing speed every 10seconds till you are at your highest speed. 😳 Decrease speed for 30sec recovery then back to your double step speed and repeat entire circuit 8-10x.
Here is an example of my speeds:

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY: I haven’t posted one of these in awhile. But it’s time. Yes I’ve lost weight. No it hasn’t been intentional. Y’all know I’m a huge proponent of spirit, mind, and body health. It’s my jam. In this season of my life, some life stressors have unfortunately affected my physical body - after wreaking havoc on my mind and spirit, it kind of just spilled right on over. I have had to be really mindful as I sort through well-meaning, contrasting comments like “You look so great girl” and “Are you ok? You look too thin.” These statements could easily become a trap for me if I weren’t being intentional with my self-care. So...this transformation Tuesday I choose to focus on how God is transforming my spirit and mind towards freedom. Peace. Safety. Love. And I’ll keep enjoying this season of eating more calorie dense foods than I normally would. Sometimes a healthy choice means increased veggie intake. Sometimes (yay for me) it means an increase of higher calorie foods to keep weight on. Oh heyyyyy donut fries with my handsome little man. And don’t get me started on the ACTUAL MOUNTAIN of tater tots I ate last night at @coppervault 🥔 Just remember, for everything there is a season! You do you. Make choices that are best for YOU. I have a tendency to make one meal (ex: avocado toast) and fall into the rut of eating it every single day. I know there are so many different flavors and foods out there that I have yet to explore, but sometimes the mere idea of branching out sends me into a spiral of wondering where exactly to start. This past week in Charleston has introduced me to new types of cuisine and flavor combinations, so my goal for this upcoming school year is to pack in more creativity on my plate. Any and all suggestions are always welcome.

An apple a day... Such a true proverb, advocating the benefits of eating nutritious food.
A lovely local man named Dan, whose knowledge of fruit trees is immense, very kindly came to meet me last summer and inspected my apple trees, telling me their ages, their health status and naming each variety. He also explained what pruning techniques were required for each tree in order to maximise fruit production.
Dan, you have tree magic running through your veins. Your advice was spot on. My apple trees look healthy and abundant this year, certainly enough for an apple a day and more throughout the season.
Apples are an incredibly nutritious food. They are highly antioxidant and
provide essential fibre, vitamin C and phytonutrients. The apple season is autumn (vata season), so they can increase vata even more at this time, due to their astringent taste and cooling quality.
If you are typically vata predominant, apples are best eaten stewed.
This autumn, when UK apples arrive in the shops, try stewing them with a little cinnamon, a sprinkling of jaggery, and baby dollop of ghee for breakfast. This is a fabulous energising and strengthening breakfast.
In Ayurveda,fruits eaten in season are considered to be the most health enhancing thing one can do, building Ojas (immunity).
Thanks to Dan’s knowledge and advice, my apple harvest looks all set to be amazing this year.

Today I didn’t claim the winning lottery ticket, I didn’t climb a treacherous mountain to behold a panoramic view at its peak, I didn’t collect an accolade for a worthy achievement, nor did I find a cure for cancer. Today I fed my children breakfast, made their lunches and dressed them for school. I listened to their sounds of laughter and banter this morning, without a care in the world. At work I served friendly customers ready to set foot on new travels, tales and adventures yet to be lived. There was a woman eagerly awaiting to attend her son’s lavish wedding overseas, as she beamed with excitement. Soon after, a doting mother walks in pushing a stroller where her healthy, plump baby is idly nestling. Molly was her name and she was a ray of sunshine on the sunniest of days, unapologetically cute. On my drive home I appreciated and thanked every sign and traffic light in my favour, I took notice of every smooth asphalt and bitumen covered road. I bought groceries in a supermarket that was big, tidy and beautiful, lined with fresh bouquets of flowers alluring me to stop and stare. I’m thankful for the shop owner who engaged in a conversation with my children and took an interest in their wellbeing. He was ever so kind to offer us free sushi and a bottle of water out of the goodness of his heart. Today may have been mired in quotidian details; however I lived it humanly, spiritually, wholesomely and gloriously.
