During summertime are you a shade seeker or a sun worshiper? I am like a 🦎 on a rock. I love feeling the warmth of the sun. It's comforting and relaxing. Sun exposure can be tricky for some and being sun smart is a priority for me. But slathering myself in just any old sunscreen is not a good idea.
Too many sunscreens out there have disgusting harsh chemicals and nanoparticals in them that are negatively affecting the health of ourselves and families. It's the buildup of these toxins that are leading to an overload on our bodies. Yeah, no thanks.
We try so hard to cut out all the junk. We've spent so many years simply using whatever because we never thought brands would care so little about us and use cheap, toxic ingredients. But they have and we're paying for it with our health.
It's a relief to have a mineral sunscreen available that I can trust AND works so great! I use the spf 10, but there's also a 50 which is recommended for daily use as directed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. And BONUS... it's #reefsafe !
I stumbled across this four years ago when I was in the midst of huge changes, loss, and feeling unraveled and heartbroken. I have had it saved on my phone since then as a reminder that from that point on, my choice was to live for myself and not for others. Some might see that as selfish, but we each walk our own path and that’s ok. I have done a lot of spiritual work, past life work, astrological work, and meditating to understand that this is indeed what my soul needs and is meant for in this lifetime (I’m a super old soul by the way 😁🧙🏻♀️). You can still love and be loved, and be kind to others while putting yourself first. From a young age I used to let people walk all over me - my mom even used to say so. I would attract those same type of needy people, the energy vampires, had no boundaries... until I woke up and took back my power. So to any of you out there who struggle with fitting in for fear of being ridiculed, wanting everyone to like you so you’re nice and a say yes to everything, not saying or doing what you truly feel. Drop that right now. You’re allowing others to walk all over you. You don’t need to suffer at the expense of making others happy. When you focus on you, you leave the freedom for others to focus on themselves. There’s a difference between kindness and generosity, and sacrificing your own soul and spirit for another. It’s not your job to constantly worry about or fix another’s problems. Four weeks shadowing/research with neurology was absolutely amazing. I’m so grateful to the doctors (Sydney😍 ily) for answering my questions and passing along knowledge and advice. Sure I practiced exam skills and obviously learned a lot about neurology and stroke but my favorite takeaway from the experience is that the patients family members are patients too in a sense. Even if there is nothing you can do especially after certain functions are lost after a stroke, a little compassion, a smile in the hallway to a visitor goes a long way. @jwise_woman @jwise_woman •
