아주아주 어릴때나 가지고 놀던 저 고무공 하나가 추가되었을뿐인데 운동하는내내 몸이 부들부들 떨린다😂
그래도 처음보다는 확실히 나아지고 있는게(조금은? 아마도? 기분탓은 아니겠지🤔) 느껴지니까 그리고 운동후에 너무나 개운하고 시원하니까 
다른 회원들보다 자세가 엉성해도
그 엉성한 자세조차 힘들어도
계속 꾸준히 운동하게 된다.
오늘 선생님이 문득 이야기 하셨다.
주5일 2~3개월 바짝 하는것보다
그걸 나눠서 주2회씩 1년 하는게 효과가 좋다고 하시니까
아직 엉성한 몸이지만
10번,20번,30번,...
1개월,2개월,3개월,...
앞으로 꾸준히 더더 좋아질테니까!

Corinna is a one of our many resident medical professionals that we are fortunate enough to call an athlete and a friend. She saves lives on the daily, has an incredibly supportive family, and kicks serious butt at I/O in her spare time. 
She came to I/O almost 2 years ago with an optimistic view and an open mind. She was curious and cautious in her approach, but came in and got right to work. 
This girl is so open to coaching and advice, and is one of the most generous people we know of. She never missed an opportunity to volunteer for our relocation preparations, with hammer and paint brush in hand and oftentimes the last to leave. 
She constantly works hard to build and refine her form and has shown incredible will power to grind through some of our toughest WOD’s. 
Corinna’s consistency and her dedication to her form, coupled with the sheer beautiful soul she has within makes her one of our most beloved athletes we've ever had the privilege to coach. Her friendly spirit is such an inspiration to our community. But her positive attitude and commitment to her physical fitness and to her fellow athletes is what makes her extra special. 
Corinna instantly clicked with the I/O community and within weeks of joining, it felt like she had always been a part of our family. She pushes each of her comrades to be better. She is everyone’s biggest cheerleader and a great leader and support system. We feel very fortunate to have Corinna as part of the I/O Family!

Work the job that isn’t right, learn about your passions, try new things, don’t put automatic pressure on yourself once you find a new hobby.

Not everything has to be a giant accomplishment, sometimes learning about it for yourself is the gain you desire.

Pressure shouldn’t come into play so that you keep doing something you hate, it’s should arise to make you shine.

Talking about being #BetterThanYesterday sounds great, but honestly, what does that look like in the real world?

Contrary to what you might think, it doesn't look like bases-loaded home runs, 99-yard touchdown runs, or "overnight" success.

In reality, it looks like small steps forward, every day.

Just 1% progress made.

Newspaper headlines won't scream "1% BETTER" but if you're serious about getting better, that's how you do it.

Because 1% today starts, and then you add 1% tomorrow, and the next day, and next....

You aren't 365% better in a year either.
You're actually exponentially better (thank you compounding interest!)

What does 1% better look like then?

👉 Create the 5 minutes to journal that you skipped yesterday (write 3 things you're thankful, 3 targets for the day, or 3 lessons)

👉 Push yourself harder in a workout than you did last time (you told that voice to shut up when it said slow down you're almost done and instead sprinted to the end).
.
👉 Prepare for that presentation just a little bit more than you did before. (When is your next meeting at work or socially? Can you review your notes more thoroughly instead of 'winging it' this time?)
.
👉 Practice more patience in a (work, social, love) relationship. Bite your tongue when you want to give advice. Take a deep breath when you want to fight.
.
👉 Read 1 chapter of a book that's collecting dust just sitting on your shelf not being read.
.
Whatever it looks like, pick one thing and do it just a little bit better than you did today.
.
We all have the ability to be 1% better every day.

Most people fail to take advantage of the day (i.e. opportunity) they're given.

Ho appreso di aver mutato, col tempo, il mio rapporto con l’alimentazione: mi piace ciò che mangio, mi piace questa flessibilità (mentale) che ho raggiunto.
Ho obiettivi fisici concreti? 
Si e non solo: ipertrofia e forza andranno a braccetto d’ora in poi.
Iniziamo questa lenta salita spingendo al massimo e, questa volta, non voglio fermarmi a riflettere.

Starting when I was 19, I went many, many months w/out consuming any fat. I was on a world renowned dance team & was told I needed to lose weight. I was not overweight, but I’m almost 5’8”, & I was told I had to lose about 10 lbs bc it was determined that I was a small frame (even though one of my best friends was allowed to weigh 125 bc she was the same height but was a medium frame). I was required to go to “fat girls” for an hour of cardio before spending hours dancing. I went to a team doctor who told me that I needed to cut back on fat, that I don’t need it & that there was a man in China who lived for 4 yrs w/out eating fat. He said I should do the same. So the accounting for every gram of fat and every calorie & severe restricting ensued. He put me on fen phen (yep, still have to do echocardiograms for that!). That was the beginning of what would become a very serious bout w anorexia for the next few yrs (down to 80 lbs!). Controlling my food became religion. There were a confluence of factors that led me down that path - not only the dance situation - but that started it all.

So I’m sharing my lunch yesterday bc 1) it’s beautiful, 2) it was delicious, & 3) to show you how happy it makes me to eat AVOCADO🥑 (my soulmate😂), copious amounts of roasted pumpkin seeds, & the most amazing creamy garlic dressing that’s mostly extra virgin olive oil. These are foods I was TERRIFIED to eat for yrs. I learned that eating foods rich in monounsaturated fatty acids improves blood cholesterol levels, which can decrease your risk of heart disease, it may benefit insulin levels and control blood sugar. We NEED fat to help us absorb certain nutrients, like fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, K) & antioxidants (like lycopene & beta-carotene). And it’s important for optimum nerve, brain & heart function. Moreover, it’s GOOD😉!

So thankful for what I went through, as difficult as it was, because God has used the experience in my life to help others going through it, and He’s grown me so much in the process. Christian counselors who helped me understand God’s will & grace & faith set me on a different path. Food is no longer scary. Recovery is possible.

You are looking at the joyful, sweaty and proud face of someone who just completed cardio core at 4:30 am. 
I am sharing this because exercise is more about your mental strength and emotional strength most days. This morning I felt well rested, strong, capable and fierce. I was prepared mentally to challenge myself and push through those walls. Other days I just want to stay in bed and not get up at 4am but I have the choice to let my emotions control me or not. 
Emotions and thoughts are like clouds they come and they go. Remember our mental ability to push through and be resilient are a stronger predictor of our workouts and physical ability than our fitness ability. 
Always remember if we think we can or we think we can't then we are right. 
Some days you'll have great workouts and others you'll barely make it through but choosing to pursue the best version of you is something to be grateful for 💕

#tbt on the left was about 6 years ago in my 2nd competition. My 1st competition had a clean / double under ladder. I was strong enough to get through the cleans but avoided double unders for years so I failed bad. Which lead me to practicing for 2 weeks straight until I finally got the rhythm. Now as a coach, I know athletes look at me and think I just picked up a jump rope and got it my first time. Not true. I used to suck before I became average! 
On the right was yesterday where I’m much more efficient with an upright torso. Best advice I had from coach @brooksboyett was to jump like you’re in a tribe - straight up and down. Thank you @crossfit806 for helping me become #betterthanyesterday #imisstexas #alwaysstrivingtoimprove #crossfit806

Constant state of change. That's how I think of my body. It's in a continuous state of change, and every year, it is different.

Naturally from aging. But also from my lifestyle. Inside and out, it's always changing in some way, or shape.

I've always had a body neutral outlook on it, I think in part because of the household I grew up in. We didn't weigh ourselves. We didn't talk about weight. And food was just... food. It all mattered, because the dialog was never about how we looked. It wasn't until my teen years, when friends started talking weight, or zeroed in on what they felt were flaws, picking themselves apart, that I realized not all households were like mine. And it hurt.

I've seen a lot of posts from women, talking about how either having a baby has changed their view of their body, or how getting older has, that workouts are not longer punishment because they hate their body, or something about their body. Workouts are no longer a chore. They're moving towards self-love, and body confidence and neutrality.

These messages that they're spreading, we NEED that. Why? Because not every household is like the one I was lucky enough to grow up in. Not every little girl, growing up, is going to NOT hear about her weight, what she eats, how she looks. We are working to change how society views women and their bodies - but we have a long way to go. That's why, it's important for us to do the work. Leave weight, those numbers out of it. Focus on food as fuel, and enjoyment. Movement should be fun, pleasuring, leave you feeling GOOD.

Just remember this: It all starts at home. How you talk to yourself. How you talk to your children. Your actions toward yourself, and towards them.
