One of the hardest things I've had to do is make bacon for you LOL said no one ever! Turkey bacon to the rescue. 🦃 My kiddos wanted a big breakfast but nobody wants to get on board with getting healthy with me. So I've taken small strides converting our kitchen over. I realize that since my cancer diagnosis I made radical lifestyle changes OVERNIGHT but my family wasnt on board. It's been a struggle on me to make two different meals everyday . So this is our "new norm". Nobody missed the pig candy, white enriched bread, hormone pumped milk & eggs or arsenic orange juice. I've replace them all with healthier food CHOICES. See we all have choices. I know it's a little bit more time & money. But if you eat cheap you are going to feel cheap bottom line! I'd rather save you now then later. If you just don't have it, budget it in somehow. Make a sacrifice, if you have to go without cigarettes, cable tv, Starbucks or the latest IPhone. There is a way to just save for what matters the most. Health is the ultimate wealth. Make the change, make better choices for you and your family. YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU! ✌🍏🥕🥑
I had a patient yesterday who's body was literally shutting down because of the damage high blood sugar. He is now in the #ICU and has to decide if he wants #dialysis , leg amputation and possible blindness or to continue on his current path and pass away.

Big catering for the Madrigal dinner. The event is old school, so we went old school. Roasted pork loin, simple salad, and rice pudding with salted walnut granola and orange apricot jam. I like how the rice pudding looks like an egg. And the whole night made me miss you @unapologeticallystyled
For an animal to go from farm to table as halal food, it must have lived a pure life from the very beginning, finishing a cycle of life that is permissible in accordance with Islamic standards. It must have eaten well, been treated well, and been sacrificed well. It may sound good in theory, but what does this all mean?
The kind of treatment and feed an animal receives during its life is important. It should be not be abused, mistreated or caused any pain. It should not be confined to an area where it cannot move or walk normally or get fresh air. It should be fed clean water and food that is appropriate and absolutely never fed another animal or products that contain the by-products of other animals.
As an animal should be treated well during its life, it should also be treated well at the time it is sacrificed for us. The slaughter should never be done in the presence of other animals and the animal should be made comfortable as it is positioned for the sacrifice. The act of the sacrifice should be done with a sharp object, so as to accelerate the process and reduce the pain suffered by the animal as much as possible.
An amazing result of cooking and consuming halal meat is a healthy meat in which the resulting texture is tender and the meat delicious. Some people say they can “taste the difference”.
