Just a little reminder for the week.
Please take a moment during the week to stop and compliment someone, give someone a high five, congratulate someone, or just simply smile. Remember, one small act of kindness can change someone's entire day, and that someone could be you.

Beautiful corners of Tbilisi. 😍
Where have you met the nicest people ever? Have you ever been to a country where everyone is just extremely nice and hospitable? I have encountered that in many places, but here in Georgia, hospitality is on a whole new level. Within few days of arriving into the country I was already invited to a Georgian wedding. All of our drivers and hosts were just incredibly welcoming, they were always greeting us with presents and never expected anything in return. Our driver even refused to take a tip! When you order a glass of wine you get 10 more by default just cuz you have a nice smile, you are from a good country and many many other reasons. One of the days we booked a room for one night but decided to stay for two, our host said that the room is booked for the second night but he will do everything possible to find us a room in the neighbourhood and if that wasnt possible he would give us his room and he would sleep outside instead 😂
I am very lucky to meet a lot of nice people on my way and Georgia wasn't an exception.

"Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody." A couple of years ago, I became TED Talk obsessed and found a Ted Talk from 9 year old Charlie Cooper on "How Little People Can Make a Big Difference". I showed it to my students and we watched it several times and wrote down our reflections. Then we had a conversation about what we heard and saw. After feeling excluded and being bullied, Charlie read about a brilliant idea in the newspaper that he decided to try out in Australia. The idea behind “The Buddy Bench” is this: if you are feeling excluded or lonely and want a friend, sit on the bench. When other kids see you on this friendship bench, they can invite you to play. It promotes empathy, compassion, and true friendship. It also allows kids to take ownership of their emotions and actively practice vulnerability. Last year my school got a Buddy Bench, but the one you see in this picture is from East Goshen park in West Chester, PA. I was so excited to see this bench in a newly renovated park for all families to learn about and use. The link to Charlie's TED Talk is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7Z-Hq-xvxM

I get so hung up on wanting to be successful, making money, doing things as fast as I can that I rarely take the time to just ‘be’. I know people, especially influencers and coaches go on and on and on about this.
I just spent a week in Greece, swimming, exploring caves, jumping off cliffs, eating all sorts of saganaki, making friends with local shop owners and taking the time to unwind.
Sun, salt, nature and good people satisfy me more than anything else on this planet. Yes, I love to work, I love to achieve. But, my unique gift is my ability to get on a plane and feel at home anywhere in the world, to converse with all walks of life and understand the ‘our’ humanity.
What is your unique gift? Everyone has one, if not multiple.
#Balance is something that we all need, but don't always find. We can fall out of step with ourselves and the Universe when we aren't in balance. Sometimes it's a physical feeling that we have, as if we are missing a step or listing to the side. At other times it can be just emotional or a mental feeling and yet can leave us feeling as if we are not ourselves and swinging from one extreme to another.
For me I usually am acting slightly different than normal when I am not balanced. I find that I'll not smile as I pass others or just am quiet and pulled in on myself. I'll see myself doing this and realize that somehow I have gotten myself out of balance!
There are many things that one can do to find balance again once it's lost. I like to do a quick meditation, focusing on my body and mind to see if there is something that I have been upset about and hiding away. I'll take it out and look at it, just so I can acknowledge that it is there and that I will be coming back to it later. I find that it will allow me to find my balance again as I am not hiding anything away.
I also will use essential oils or crystals to help me find my balance while meditating. There are so many things that we can do and they all will work differently for each of us.
Find what works best for you!
Animal agriculture and eating #meat are the biggest causes of #globalwarming . The burning of #fossilfuels for energy and animal agriculture are 2 of the biggest contributors to global warming, along with #deforestation . Globally, fossil fuel-based energy is responsible for about 60% of human greenhouse gas emissions, with deforestation at about 18%, and animal agriculture between 14% -18%. #Animalagriculture is a significant source of other greenhouse gases. Ruminant animals like #cattle produce methane, which is a greenhouse gas about 20x's more potent than carbon dioxide. The livestock sector is responsible for about 37% of human-caused methane emissions, and about 65% of human nitrous oxide emissions (mainly from manure), globally.
#Beef is a bigger problem than other sources of #meat as it requires significantly more resources than other sources of meat. Beef requires 28x's more #land , 6x's more fertilizer and 11x's more water than producing #pork or #chicken . As a result, the study estimated that producing beef releases 4 times more greenhouse gases than a calorie-equivalent amount of pork, and 5 times as much as an equivalent amount of poultry.
Eating #vegetables produces lower greenhouse gas emissions, potatoes, rice, and broccoli produce approximately 3–5 times lower emissions than an equivalent mass of poultry and pork. The reason is simple – it's more efficient to grow a crop and eat it than to grow a crop, feed it to an animal as it builds up muscle mass, then eat the animal. (📸 @futuremylove)
This photo is about the t-shirt. More importantly the idea this t-shirt represents. An idea that has created change in a community, an idea that started because Erin Davis refused to the sit on the sidelines of life when she knew she could make a difference.
“The thought of doing something, rather than nothing is where this all started. As tension has been building in our country and divisiveness is pulling people apart, a simple idea of loving more was developed in hopes of bringing people together. Spreading love, not hate.” (Erin Davis)
A “simple idea” that has made a huge impact. One that will only continue to grow. A simple idea where an amazing woman took the skills she had and combined it with her passion to see change and has created a whole community of people who are ready to love this world more. An example of someone who changed the world around her using the talents she already possessed. What skills, talents,
and passions of yours are you using or can you use to change the world around you? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

❌Did you know that if we continue our current lifestyle, by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea⁉️🌊
I believe that it doesn’t have to be that way though. If we all try to cut out plastic by for example taking our own bags to the supermarket, prep food at home and package it in a jar, drink from the tap when possible, it would already make a tremendous difference.
Besides that, we can all help a bit by not leaving trash at the beach and parks and by cleaning other people's trash.
I formed a ‘mini habit’ of collecting at least 3 trash items when I am at the beach or park. Why only 3 things? Well, easy: a mini-habit motivates, doesn't overwhelm you, gets you started and often results in you doing more than actually planned. Are you joining this mini-habit? Swipe to the right to see why it is more than necessary to all help a bit. ➡️🌊🐠
Just finished read this book #wastenot .. a zero waste life guidebook beautifully written by @therogueginger 💚. A book rich of rational tips, explanations, and even case studies based on Erin true experiences in reducing trash on her everyday life with husband and son. #wastenot is a honest point of view that describe zero waste lifestyle as a very simple yet realistic things to do. And i couldn't agree more with the framework of this book, that emphasize zero waste is how we return to our local culture and practices. As Erin wrote in her book: "we all live in different locations in varying circumstances, make your own framework to suit your life. Find what works for you." Thank you Erin, you're such an inspiration. 💚 .
NB: ada sedikit tulisanku di dalamnya ikut nyempil 😁. Yang tertarik baca buku ini, bisa tanya lebih lanjut ke @therogueginger, atau bisa beli online dari lapak2 online luar negeri.

"Although the practice of yoga nidra has immediate relaxing and calming benefits it is the regular long term practice that has been part of the most profound change in my life. Routinely and actively cultivating a calm mind through yoga nidra has helped to reduce my experiences of anxiety and depression from a daily struggle to a rare event. I feel stronger and more capable in managing and promoting good mental health.
Yoga Nidra has also helped with my creative work, regularly visiting a calming mind space has become easier every week. The practice allows me to listen and feel confident in the creative ideas that present themselves. It helps me to visual the changes I want to make and then put them into action.
Yoga Nidra has now become an essential regular part of my health and wellbeing routine, and is as important as any physical exercise or healthy eating plan!"
