Everyone has a preference. Black, creamer, sugar, dare I say...spiked.
Coffee is the universal language not just for outdoorsmen and women but human beings.
It’s often overlooked and under-appreciated, but coffee is something (I believe) that can bring us all together.
Who do you want to share a cup of coffee with soon?
Not all roads lead you down the direction you thought you were headed. Or better yet, thought you should be headed. .
I’ve been blessed with circumstances that most would see as negative, but that’s not me. No, instead I see it as it was what was supposed to happen. .
So, instead of forcing it, I’m just going where the road takes me. And for the first time in a very long time, I’m coming to terms with that.
When it comes to shotguns, everyone has a preference. And with that comes preference of shot shells. Personally, I’ve been a big fan of shooting 20 gauges for majority if my time spent waterfowling. I’ve got and still do shoot my H&K SBE for nostalgia purposes but over the past few years my m2 20 gauge has been by my side when I hit the field. .
When it comes to shot shells, well... my opinion isn’t as strong. I’d like to say I only shoot “the best” but realistically I shoot whatever has the best rebate promotion going on during the off-season. If it goes “bang” when I squeeze the trigger and ducks are falling, I can’t really argue any shell is better or worse.
Studio work has become something I absolutely love to do.
When it comes to the outdoor industry, I feel like we have gone stale with our visuals.
I think it’s time our industry gets a refresher. It’s time to push the needle a bit. We should pull inspiration from outside our tiny community. We should be striving for originality and innovation.
We’ve seen a huge wave of new ways to photograph hunts. Now it’s time to implement that into studio work.
Anyways, here’s a picture of a @rigemright Mudslinger dressed up in @mossyoak Shadowgrass Blades.

Been thinking heavily about spending a spring guiding again. I miss it. It’s miserable. You don’t sleep. Barely eat. You are frustrated and at times question why you ever started hunting in the first place. But then it all comes together. Maybe just for one flock, and you know why you put yourself through it.
Expect great things to happen to you! Know you will reach the goals you set! Just keep taking action....do something everyday that moves you one step closer to your goals or anything you want to achieve! Eat something green every day (not green Jolly Rancher’s!), eliminate something unhealthy everyday, exercise a little + a little more everyday. Set your goals for your health, life + relationships and work toward them everyday!💥💥
This is one of my favorite sayings...and I look for it everywhere! .
I am always telling my boys these little sayings in hopes that hearing them all through their childhood will serve to guide them throughout their adult lives!
What are some of your favorite sayings that keep you inspired + motivated?! I cannot wait to hear!💥💟🌈
Thinking back on one of my favorite hunts I’ve been able to take part in. We found a great feed close to where we were staying. But the best part? Well that was a small “island” of trees in the field that birds didn’t seem to shy away from. So, we tucked our A-frames into the trees and wiped out one of the fastest 5-man limits I’ve ever experienced.
Not going to Canada at the end of the week with one of my favorite humans (@aaeberle) is a tough pill to swallow. This year has been a challenging one. Lots of change. Lots of growing. Lots of opportunity. Promise I’ll be up to eat Amish bakery pretzels and bitch about the increase of local goose hunters in your area very soon, buddy.
Early came and went.
Seems like hunting seasons have become longer for most, yet I always find myself wondering where the time goes. I’ve got some cool things planned this year. Even with a location change in the near future, my season is looking bright.
Here’s to another fall full of opportunities.
