I took the day off from work for a self-care day & Im feeling refreshed, at peace & recharged. After having a few mental & emotional days & my psoriasis flaring up from not doing the proper self-care I needed, it was much needed. Today I spent time outside with the boy soaking up some sun, worked on a few projects for my online coaching business & had my massage. I didn’t even hit 10,000 steps & I’m totally okay with that. 😍 -
I’m not one to rest well. I’ve never taken a day off, called in sick or use my vacation time from work. I just keep on going & tell myself - ❌ “Your doing fine, suck it up”
❌ “Just Keep Going”
❌ “I don’t need it” -
One of the days I was sick & still showed up at work, I heard my dad on the phone “yea she doesn’t feel good, but she’s a trooper” 😳 🤔 -
The truth is...you need to listen to your body & rest!! It’s okay to not feel “fine” all the time. If I had listened to my body when I got sick with a cold & rested, I wouldn’t be dealing with my psoriasis flare up now. I’m learning the hard way to balance & that it’s okay to REST & Slow down. It’s okay to take a day off to de-stress, to take a day for YOU. Don’t be afraid to show yourself some grace & self love. Take time to take care of your mind, body & soul. You kind of need it to survive. 💜 .
Don’t ignore the love you do have in your life by focusing on the love you don’t have
You can’t please everyone. Not every human is worth your time. Don’t stress about the people in your life who you want to please but just can’t no matter what you do. Those people have their own problems they need to work through. It’s not worth it to bring yourself down bc of someone else.
Instead spend time around people who make time for you. Those who enjoy having you in their life and who bring you positivity and joy. Find your family!
The people in ya life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are, love you no matter what, and do anything to see you smile. Family isn’t always blood. Just bc someone is related to you doesn’t mean they are good/healthy to have in your life. Family members sometimes create toxic relationships so learn to cut those people loose for your mental health and ability to grow. Do better without them.
I’m lucky to have a lot of family members that double as my support system like @bri.ren___ However, there’s still some toxic ones as well. Identify who is good for you and who is not bc being surrounded by negative, soul sucking people brings you down and keeps you from blooming into a beautiful soul. If that means keeping your circle small bc no one is good for you then do it🤷🏼♀️ work on yourself and uplifting/supportive people will enter your life.
Prove those who bring you down/tell you ‘you can’t do it’ that they are wrong. Prove em wrong!!! Don’t fill your circle with people who don’t want growth for you/themselves. It’s not worth the strife. Work harder and spread positivity and love and wait for like minded people to come along and join your posse. Love attracts love💗

Abundance can be cultivated in a lot of ways. @debtfreecharts
gave out the advice to the #dfcsavingschallenge group to look for money that was outside of our regular paychecks. Ways that we could find or make more money through sales, refunds, gifts, etc. Being able to see what we have that we take for granted and to make choices to change our circumstances can make all the difference.
I went through a kick a while back of trying to coupon to save us money, but I ended up buying a lot of things I didn't need. Now I'll look over the offers to see if there are any really good overlapping sales, and add offers to the apps, but I try to shop normally. I haven't pulled money out of any of them in years, and it was a nice surprise to see all the small numbers add up to something significant.
Right now I have accounts with @ibottaapp @ebatesshopping @checkout51 @savingstar @pampersus @kelloggsus @swagbucksofficial and @berry_cart What am I missing? Do you have a favorite that doesn't tempt you to spend just to earn?
It's easy for self talk or an internal dialogue to turn negative when we are experiencing pain, discomfort and anxiety, practicing positive self talk during pregnancy is good practice for birth!
Imagine how your prespective of yourself would change if you told yourself multiple times a day what a powerful women you are, how beautiful you are, how strong and safe you are, and what an amazing mother you will be!
Self talk is a powerful tool to use in labour, use it for good 😍

The kindest thing we can do for those around us is to really take the time to care for ourselves. Caring for ourselves is just as important as taking care of the ones we love most in our lives. I learned this very early on in life when my husband suffered a stroke, I quickly took on the title of not only wife, but caregiver. I was new to this & wanted to do the best I could, but I was running my body into the ground trying to care for my sweet husband without coming up for air. I began to neglect basic things I needed to keep myself healthy. Someone close to me gave me one of the greatest gifts ever. They told me that I must first nourish my body, mind & soul in order to nourish others. In order to do that I needed to take a break while someone else stepped in. It’s amazing what that break & letting go can accomplish & how much more we can truly give of ourselves. We can’t change what life will throw our way, but we can nourish ourselves in a way that will help us to spread the most love & kindness to those around us. I gave myself a break from social media & everyday life to refill my cup this past week. I found respite & a healing balm on the northern coast that is near & dear to us both. My husband & I were able to nourish ourselves before he takes on a health challenge that we will be facing together during the holiday. We appreciate all the love, thoughts, prayers & sweet messages you have sent. The outpouring of love from so many of you has touched our hearts. We both are hopeful for the future & we have faith that all will be well. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts🙏🏻

💕Wrote a new song today 💕
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we talk to ourselves.... good ol’ inner dialogue. It can be really easy to tell yourself that you can’t do something, that you’re not good enough, etc, and talk yourself out of trying. Sometimes when I’m being harsh in my mind I try to stop and question if I would say what I’m saying about myself to someone else. I usually wouldn’t 😉😳. This is a song about that.

I hate working out. Typically, it’s a fantastic way for me to feel awful about myself and ultimately GAIN weight with my gym membership from stress eating.
Y’all... I have worked out 10 of the last 11 days. Like, packed-a-gym-bag-went-to-class-straight-from-work worked out. Like, squeezed-in-a-class-on-my-lunch-break worked out.
There’s this beautiful place in Waco called @refitstudiowaco and I’m currently obsessed. I’ve felt bad about myself exactly zero times and my participation has caused zero stress eating. It feels more like a dance party with friends than a dreaded item on a to-do list and I seriously can’t get enough.
So, if you’re tired of being in the body that you’re in but want to cry at the very thought of trying to move it, don’t give up. Find what works for you. Take a walk around your neighborhood or try out a free class at a workout that fees intimidating. Check out some yoga videos on YouTube or find a trainer that respects you.
Whatever you do, let it be motivated by love for yourself, k? Move your body because you can. Because you’re happy to be alive. Because you love the soul residing under that skin enough to tend it kindly.
Once you master sleep, then you will be better able to determine what’s keeping you up at night. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
“This place makes me
the kind of exhausted that has
nothing to do with sleep
and everything to do with
the people around me.”
Next step? Doing something about it. I can help with that. Link in bio.
Are #fridayintroductions still a thing? Cause I’m doing my first one today ☺️
— I’m a clinical mental health therapist living in the Bay Area. Oakland to be specific. I’ve worked with all ages, but I have a soft spot for children + womxn. ⠀⠀
— Apparently I have a thing for touching my hair and tilting my head in photos. It’s fine. ⠀⠀
— I’m currently having a strong Nutella streak. Not stopping anytime soon. ⠀⠀
— I’m a big time introvert. While I am endlessly fascinated by people and enjoy conversation + socializing, I need lots of alone time to recharge. Which means I also tend towards being a homebody 🙃.
— I have a far-fetched dream to own a bed + breakfast. ⠀⠀
— I can’t choose between mountains or ocean. ⠀⠀
— I did cheerleading when I was in middle + high school. Most people who meet me now are shocked by that, but I did gymnastics before that so it was a natural progression. Kinda. ⠀⠀
— New Girl is perhaps my favorite light-hearted tv shows of all. It has its issues at times, to be sure. But I always come back to it for a good laugh. ⠀⠀
— I tried rock climbing last week and realized that heights are REALLY not my thing. Neither are small spaces. Or itchy clothes, while we’re on the subject.
— I love chocolate. And fruit snacks/gummies. And pajamas. ⠀⠀
— I’ve dreamt about creating this space and website for years, a way to bring together my passions for mental health, self care + growth, leaning into what we find restorative + meaningful + important, creativity + design + writing. All the things. ⠀⠀
Finally in late September took the plunge. No lie, it’s SUPER nerve-wracking to express myself in this way. I mostly have no idea what I’m doing, but am just really grateful and honored that you all choose to show up and read and share. xoxo ⠀⠀
Ok now I want to hear from youuuu! Something unexpected about you. What you’re weekend is looking like. Got a question? Anything. Take care 🖤
Don’t you dare ever let anyone ever talk you out of your dreams. Including yourself! We can be so hard on ourselves, so critical of each and every move we make. There’s enough criticism coming from outside noise, we can barely hear our inner dreamer cheering us on. It’s time to shut the window to the noise and keep pushing toward those dreams that set your soul on fire 🔥
Your mind is the most powerful tool you possess. You are what you put out; your thoughts become your reality.
Some say, it’s the law of attraction. Positivity attracts positivity and negativity festers more negativity. •
I’ve been really trying to practice this lately. Trying to attune my emotions through the power of positive thought.
When I recognize myself entering a negative mind set or thought process..... I try to do just that ...Recognize.
Then, allow. Allow these feelings to be present. It’s okay to feel these feelings.
But then, negotiate. Negotiate my way back to positivity and abundance.
But, making sure to always ask why. Why do I feel this way? What is it that brought me here? If at all possible, I then remove those influencers. Clearing out anything that does not serve my higher self, whether it be physical or emotional stressors.
And, it’s amazing to see the powers of positive thinking in action. •
Change your mind, change your world. What are you putting out into the world today?!
