Today on this beautiful Monday, I scratched item #4 off my bucket list.
Being from Texas I’ve never even seen enough snowball to make a snowball. Now I’m riding down a mountain getting ready for the winter X games. 😂
Thanks to everyone I’ve met here that made all of this possible! I say this all the time and I mean it...IM LIVING A BLESSED LIFE MAN!! Next item...eat a scorpion 😨 #BucketList#Beijing
I will explain how this picture relate to this topic⏩ This is me in the summer of 2017 and I probably weigh around 7kg less than I do now.
I want to talk about NEAT = non exercise activity thermogenesis. It's so interesting how much this actually effects your weight. So NEAT is all kind of movement that burna calories excluding excersise. So it's anything from fidgeting to getting up to do dishes to walk to work. All these small things you do during the day adds up and burn quite a lot of calories. And mostly these are activities we don't even think about. I thought about this a lot since I noticed that I'm terrible at sitting still at the moment. I watch a movie, paus get up, do random things and then sit a bit and then 10 minutes later same again. And I can't explain why.
I have a theory that I sat so much this summer due to studies and recently due to my knee surgery that now when I finally feel better my body is so energetic I can't sit still! I just want to move!
To circle back to the picture, what did I do different back then. Why was I a lot smaller? The answer is NEAT. I went through a quite painful break-up in March that year and to decrease my anxiety, I walked, walked and I walked. Even during the hottest mist disgusting Beijing Summer I walked 2,5km every lunch break. I now have thought about why did I stop? I do believe there's probably various reasons but one is for sure my knee pain, I unconsciously stopped moving as much as I always felt uncomfortable. Also I wasn't very anxious this summer😋
Now when I feel like my enegy is back, I'm fideling, walking around, doing all kinds of weird stuff, I will try to use this and start walking during my lunch breaks again. If the air allows (aka low pollution ). Keep your fingers crossed my knee agrees💪 Small things matter, take an extra walk every day!
Note: I'm not trying to look like in the picture, that was a different time. My muscle mass is definitely greater now💪
