The end of the nectar flow triggers the slowing of brood production in our colonies. This slow down becomes especially noticeable as the weather cools and the leaves begin changing color. At this time the queen is laying the eggs that will become the overwintering bees, and perhaps she knows that she is about to have a much deserved break from a busy season of laying!
You can help your colony during this transitional period by making sure they have adequate nutrition to raise their winter bees, ensuring their hive is dry and free of gaps or drafts, and reducing the entrance so they can better protect themselves.

Did you know that the honeybees see in the ultraviolet spectrum, making them more attracted to blue, purple and violet blooms over others? Check out these Chinese Forget-Me-Nots in our garden, they are buzzing!
How would you treat a person walking behind you all day following you around telling you you look fat, ugly, and stupid?
Doesn’t it make you really mad I mean who does this person think they are talking to me like that...A few other slang words come to mind...
Why sisters do we tolerate talk from ourselves that we would never tolerate from another person in real life?
next time you recognize a awful thought you have about yourself think about this...would this be something you’d say to your grandmother?
Would you ever call your grandmother a fat pig for having another slice of pizza?
Its HARDDDD to retrain our brain to be compassionate reasonable and loving after a lifetime of beating ourselves down from so much of the media and social pressures in our days on how we feel we ‘should’ look. .
Instead of the path of self-doubt, envision taking a different path.
Stepping away from some of the stories our mind tells us is hard, but we can create a new pathway just like training our muscles at the gym, teaching a child to walk, learning to drive a car or ride a bike. .
You can do ANYTHING you make up your mind to do. You get to decide because you have the wheel on your life. You can choose which direction to go and what thoughts you allow in. We all have that free will .
what will you choose starting today? I choose to love myself even when the little gremlin in my head comes knocking. .
Will you take this path with me sister?
