Lagers & low strength, two things that rarely pass my lips these days but when it’s for a good cause like the @rnli I’ll take one for the team. I’m a generous guy like that😉 Lifeboat Lager from @padstowbrewingco
This is pale even by lager standards, a light straw yellow colour with a decent amount of head perched on top which gives some great lacing down the glass as you drink it.
Malt & buttered crumpets make up the aromas, it’s actually pleasantly surprising and inviting.
Crisp, light & infinity refreshing, the golden malts, freshly baked bread and a hint of florals coupled with the medium/thin body make this very quaffable.
If lagers all tasted like this I could be tempted back...maybe!
Here are a few photos that accompany an interview I did with @brian_casse of @idrinkgoodbeer. It’s one of the more personal features on BierWax and its founder/owner Chris Maestro (back to third person) 😜 Thanks, Brian, for the feature. It is always a pleasure to talk about hip hop and beer.

MY DAD’S BOAT — I wish I had a more in depth opinion, but this beer literally tastes like every other hazy double IPA by Alvarado. It’s a good beer, don’t get me wrong. I just wasn’t wowed this time around. And we all know they put out some fire! This 8.1% DIPA is everything you’d expect from their signature taste (how many more times am I gonna mention that? 😂) The smell is extremely faint. But the taste is a kicker! It has a sharp, yeasty dankness (not necessarily in a bad way 🧐) with citrusy undertones. Mild carbonation through and through. What did you guys think? Cheers! 🍻

The Experiment - In the hub of trendy east London, hackney central railway arches have now joined the party. @pressuredropbrw and @verdantbrew have come together and been absolute babe stations and opened up a tap room and it’s bloody great.
It’s Oktoberfest time folks and I will be celebrating it this weekend in Blue Mountain Village with all the sausage, lederhosen and @creemoresprings beer. They will even be serving a special beer for the event as well offering Beer 101 sessions. Get all you info by clicking the link in bio- Heather
La Quince paradise city WIPA
Strength: 6.3% Origin: 🇪🇸 They say: Take me down to the paradise city. Where the hop is fresh and the girls are pretty. Take me home (oh won’t you please take me home).Take me down to the paradise city !!! We say: it has a hazy golden colour with a strong sweet citrusy scent. A taste of zesty lemon comes through first and then turns quite bitter and leaves the mouth rather dry but is still refreshing and a great beer for a warm summers evening. (Also, love the name!) Score: 🍺🍺🍺🍺(/5)

🍺 BRENDA'S THOUGHTS 🍺
I really liked this beer. It’s light in body. It’s smoother than the sours that I’ve had. I wouldn’t even call it sour… it’s more tart to start and then finishes sweeter.
It is tangy and citrusy - the limón is definitely coming through.
It’s very drinkable. I think this would be cool to drink when you’re chilling with friends at a BBQ or something!
🍺 BROS OF BRENDA 🍺
**This week I did something a little different and I had my boys Juan and Dom try the beer too.**
J: Starts off watery and tart then I got notes of lemon. It smells hoppy but there isn’t a strong hop taste. This is like the Katy Perry of beers. One is great but anything more would be too much.
D: I’m not a fan of sour beers but I could drink this beer in a flight. It smelled exactly like an IPA.
🍺 PAIR WITH 🧀
Juan and I decided this beer would be perfect with a super cheesy dish. .

Simply put...beer is produced by fermenting the sugars of malted barley. By steeping malted barley in hot water, a sweet sugary solution commonly known as “wort” is produced. If we ferment the resulting sweet liquid with yeast, add a generous pour of hops for flavoring, you will have produce delicious beer. Now go forth and spread the news. #mayyourglassneverbeempty
