Such a mess 🤦🏽♀️😂 First pic is the standard ‘right move’ photo, the following pics are of what the bedroom looks like now! We are waiting on my brother to return from holiday to put in some plug sockets for us as this room has 2 and they’re in the most annoying places! Still to do- Opening the fireplace back up, steaming/ sanding the Artex off the ceiling and top of the walls and ripping up the horrid laminate flooring! I have so many great ideas for this bedroom so watch this space 😍😍
Evening ✨ if you have seen my stories you will have seen that the whole house doesn’t look like this room. I am currently battling a blow up bed 🙈. So I thought I would share this corner of the bedroom. The cushions are from @homesense_ukie the bed is from @dreams_beds unbelievably I managed to get these curtains in a local shop sale. For £42!!! I am over the moon with them they look so luxurious. My beautiful ivory effect magnifying glass (purely for show) is from @hunterandco.store and the cool looking coral was from @kellyhoppenhome sale! As is the vase with the flowers ☺️ #bedroomdetails#luxurybedroom#luxurydetails#homesense#tkmaxx#luxuryinteriordesign#bedroomrenovation#bedroominterior#romowallpaper#wayfairuk
• m o o d b o a r d • it’s evolved a bit from the post in March. We’ve gone for Matt black wall lights/sockets and switches. And re-painting the dressing table from a dusky pink, which is gorgeous but looking tired, plus it’s nice to have a change. I thinks it’s going to go F&B arsenic 💚! It will work well with the beautiful wallpaper and white walls and painted floor boards. We’re now just waiting for the plasterer to come! Then all systems go! #moodboard#bedroomdecor#bedroomideas#holdenwallpaper#farrowandballarsenic#renovation#bedroomrenovation
Our bedroom progression so far! It’s the first day the Decorator has been in and although it doesn’t look much so far, I’m so pleased! We’ve had the room skimmed by a plasterer, next is paint, then the carpet is getting fitted in a week’s time 🙌🏻 We’re having a dark blue wall behind our bed, which is pretty adventurous for us, we’ve normally just gone for neutral. #stiffkeyblue#homerenovation#bedroomrenovation#homeinspo#bedroominspo#darkbedroom
We chose the color Grey Brook for our Master Bedroom. These samples have been painted on our wall for so long I can’t remember which one it is. Lol! I know a few posts ago I swore next time I was calling our Painter yet here I am, furniture moved, paint brush in hand, about to tackle this room. This dirty yellow has just reached the pinnacle of my last nerve... Here’s to being done before school pick up! 🙌🏻
Good morning friends! I really believe in buying what you love and making it work. I purchased this bed frame about 20 years ago when I was a University student. I was in love with it when I first saw it and I still love it. .
There was a period of time when I wanted a tufted headboard and didn’t know if this bed suited my style anymore. There was pinky beige paint on the walls and a busy duvet cover that made the bed look dated. However, by making a few changes- adding the white shiplap and white bedding, painting the side tables white, and adding simple black and green accents, the bed was able to become a focal point that was no longer fighting with the decor. Sometimes decor isn’t about buying new things, it’s about using what you already have, especially if it’s pieces you love. This is the approach I take with my decor clients, unless of course they want to start a room from scratch! Please send me know if you are interested in my e-design or local (Ottawa) design services.
It’s Day 2 at our music institute and the boys’ regular schedule of classes begins. I hope they love it!
THE PLAN// on the other side of this wall is the main bathroom and again we have the same issue with size. Therefore we will create a new wall level with the door. ( a new entrance to the bedroom will come from taking out the airing cupboard) Eventually the wall will come out in the bathroom to extend out.
B e d r o o m 🌿 little before and after of the bedroom...all the feels for the moses basket in the before pic, though 🙊 The room feels more airy and spacey now; I love it 😍 my only wish is that I would have preferred to have my blanket box at the bottom of the bed instead of under the window, but the huge chest of drawers on the other wall means you wouldn’t be able to get past, so I had to move it! I don’t think you realise how big Ikea furniture is until you get it in your room; the chest of drawers is huge!
FRONT BEDROOM PROGRESS
All wallpaper stripped off proving all the black marks in the corner was only condensation where they had a wardrobe screwed to the wall.
Tried to remove all the artex but one patch just wouldn’t come off so I decided it would be best to pull the ceilings down.
Spare bedroom morning vibes........and then the reason why we are in the spare room! So lucky to have such a clever husband who is working so hard on this 💙 @ricalbery .
It is such a strange thing to feel so proud of how far we come while simultaneously being overwhelmed by how much there is left to do 😶
We don’t technically have a shower yet. We can’t use our AC yet. We aren’t able to keep food in our fridge yet. And the list goes on. 📝
Sooo this is my mantra for the weekend anddd the foreseeable future, ha
Happy Friday friends!
Everyone is gearing up for a new school year and we are over here still renovating, painting, sewing, and planning birthday parties 🙈
The girls have wanted to paint their bedroom for the longest time, so we finally decided to just go for it, there is no perfect time for everything! They spent lots of time picking out just the right color and did most of the painting themselves! Of course, a little paint leads to a whole host of other projects...if you give some girls some paint, they are going to want...to go with it.😉😀😍 I offered them my hope chest to store their American girl stuff inside, but they didn’t appreciate my taste way back when 😉😂🤣, so I told them we could redo it. Victoria found this beautiful leather fabric, we grabbed some chalk paint, and had ourselves a fun project! We had never used chalk paint or reupholstered anything before but it was definitely fun to try!
Victoria made lots of pillows with the extra fabric and has declared that everyone is receiving pillows for Christmas this year! 🎄🎁😉 Still a work in progress—there are pictures and a mirror left to hang, but they are loving their new space! The hope chest has worked amazingly well for all their doll stuff too, and it even caused them to pare down a little! Win-win! 😉
We’re thrilled to share with you our collaboration with @sophierobinsoninteriors, who has been designing a new master bedroom for her Mum’s annex - and how good does it look!
Our Holly bed is shown here with fabulous lamps from the lovely @annalysejacobs, and fresh new stripy bed linen in dazzling blue designed by Sophie for @secretlinenstore.
We caught up with Sophie and chatted to her about all things interior design, including creating a beautiful Innovation Home as part of the Ideal Home Show, her most challenging interior design projects and of course building her Mum a new annex. One over the stairs cupboard done ✅
We are really trying to do as much of this build ourselves as we can. Firstly it saves so much money, it may take longer, but you also know that the person carrying out the work puts a lot of love in to it. That’s because it’s you! We have had to get tradesmen in for a couple of things and every single time they have not cared for our house at all. It’s so sad to see and makes our life more difficult rectifying their mistakes/accidents along with still having to pay them £££ in the process. It’s left a sting in our tail for sure so to be able to say we built this cupboard ourselves means a lot to us. We don’t have to rely on these people that don’t care about our house 👍🏼
