Just thinking about my recent experience at Park Hyatt Bangkok (@parkhyattbangkok), the hotel which had the highest room rates amongst the different properties I stayed at during my week in Bangkok. Park Hyatt Bangkok is widely hyped to be one of the city’s most luxurious hotels, and in my recent website post I summarised the stay experience as “Glacial Poshness of Art Gallery Living”. The hotel’s aesthetic is clean and understated, with a general colour palette which is soft and neutral, with cream shades, pale wood and sharp black accents.
The interior design and generally discreet (possibly bordering on aloof) sense of hospitality reminds me of Andaz Singapore (@andazsingapore), only with more overt artistic sensibilities - show pieces from both Western and Asian artists are incorporated within the hotel’s interior design. For instance, Hirotoshi Sawada (the artist behind @shangrilasg’s tree canopy art installation) created “Naga”, an installation comprising a dramatic swirling cascade of black batons suspended over the hotel’s The Living Room lounge.
More on Park Hyatt Bangkok on the website, link in bio etc.
P.S. On a side note, this @Hyatt stay exemplifies the wonders of loyalty programmes - I had booked an entry level room (THB8,400) and used 6,000 World of Hyatt points to upgrade my room to a standard suite (THB15,140), but despite being a mere basic Member, I was upgraded to a premium suite (THB20,140). The World of Hyatt can be quite the utopia.
Wooden Buddha Statue found after 2004 Tsunami which affected the southern coast of the country as well. This statue is believed to be sculped in Myanmar or Indonesia on its style.
This was spotted at Galle Marine Museaum.
Say YES if you would love to be there right now ❤️🇲🇽🌅

Visiting Valensole was like a dream, I wanted to go there so badly! The lavender and sunflower fields were just so pretty! 🌻
Do you plan to go there? If yes you need to come before August and you should come for the sunset! It was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen! But beware of the bees!🐝
