With the forecast ranging from mid-40s to 60s for race day, I decided to try out a few gear options. The mid-40s are tricky for me because I can’t ever decide if I prefer tights or shorts. It also depends if it’s sunny out or cloudy! Oh decisions, decisions 🤣
My legs usually get chilly in shorts so I decided to try out wearing these @bracoousa compression sleeves with them to help keep my legs warm. I was actually really surprised with how much I did like them. I’ve tried calf sleeves previously and felt like they were too thick and constricting to wear when I run, but these were not as thick of a material so I felt like they stretched better. Definitely going to keep them as an option if I decide to go with shorts. I may also have to try out the socks to see if I prefer them over the sleeves!

One day left till #stwm !! 25 min shake-out run with the @runninjas this morning and carbo-loaded with a delicious breakfast 😄 It took great strength and effort during these past few months of training, but it was all worthwhile! 20 miles with 14 at marathon pace on deck for the day. Missed some of my paces for the last few miles but my legs feel like they are about to fall off so mission accomplished?Was too busy falling apart to capture a picture with @zaralukens but I loved having her company on this run!!!
16 miles 🙌🏼🏃🏼♀️🎉 Solid long run with miles 6/8/10/12 @ goal marathon pace (8:20) ((actual: 8:13, 8:01, 8:03, 8:02)). The last 3 miles were the hardest part of the run. My legs felt dead. I was cold & tired. I just wanted to be done. Right around this time I rounded a corner to see an older gentleman being taken out of his home on a stretcher and in to the back of an ambulance 😔 I said a prayer for him and will continue to do so. It was a reminder that any morning I can wake up and run 16 miles is an incredible blessing. One that I never, ever want to take for granted. No matter how fast, slow, easy, or hard the miles are - they are always something to be thankful for 🏃🏼♀️🙏🏻💕
Happy Saturday! 8 miles on the strand to kick off the weekend 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️ Longest run since the half 2 weeks ago! It felt good to get back out there and enjoy a quiet morning by the beach.
