i can’t even! by the end of this engagement session my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard, and my heart was beaming. these two magical and wildly in love souls are getting MARRIED in just 66 days! crazy excited to document it all!
With summer quickly coming to an end, a lot of my focus has been on the Holiday mini sessions. The studio has been booked, decorations have been purchased, and pinterest boards have been made. Due to overwhelming requests for info, I will be releasing these dates earlier than planned. I will first open up the spots to the people on my email list. Any remaining spots will then be offered here on Instagram. If you wish to be on my email list, shoot me a DM with your email address.

Tip to all ladies: Always wear a flowy dress for your engagement session. Or, if you prefer pants (like me), wear your hair down for some added movement + drama.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m breaking up the baby feed to say this...Since Ryan joined our world everything feels like more. Like time matters more. Moments matter more. Photographs to capture these fleeting moments matter more but staying present matters more, too. It all matters more. While I haven’t spent any time working on photography yet, I feel a renewed sense of the importance of capturing moments of joy for people.

Months ago someone commented on this engagement photo by saying this beautiful couple looked sad all because they weren’t smiling. Since then, that comment stuck to me. And here’s the thing, this couple + dear friends of mine were then and are currently the happiest and most solid couple I know.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s another thing, you don’t have to smile in photos to show people you’re happy. The absence of smile can simply mean a couple is at peace with one another. Calm. No frills or need to show others how much they love one another because they know they feel secure. Also, some couples or people in general don’t like to smile, and that’s perfectly fine. No one likes a fake smile anyway, right?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I am trying to say is, when taking your engagement, wedding or whatever photos—be yourself. Because when people look back at photos of you, you want them to remember the real you.
For everything that comes between the carefree days of high school and the growing pains of becoming an adult, Minh and Sandy have walked through it together.
They’ve been there for the college dorm rooms and the first apartments… the job interviews and the job promotions… the mountaintop moments and the heartache.
And with every mile marker and transition along the way, Minh and Sandy continued to choose each other.
This couple is everything classic and heartfelt and kind, and Jeff and I had the best time with them at their engagement session at the Pichetti Ranch Preserve! All this gorgeousness is on the bloggy-blog today! (Link in bio!) -E
I shot my sister's engagement photos a coupple of weeks ago at UC Santa Cruz where her and her finace met their first year in college ☺️ Congrats Stefanie & Mike, may you have many years kissing each other but also kissing local Santa Cruz banana slugs, a local time honored tradition!
A little backstage photo from our most recent wedding gig. It was a HOT day in Redding, CA but the venue was GORGEOUS! Can’t wait to release the footage. All about that gimbal life. Thanks to @feiyutech 👌🏻
Heya! This is me with my husband Aris and my dog/best friend/main source of entertainment, Kira. Some of you already know this, buuuuttt for those who don’t...we’re expecting an addition to our family this fall!⠀
No, unfortunately it’s not a puppy! I’ve been growing a little human for the past 6 months, and let me tell you—it is exhausting!⠀
I know I’m supposed to say things like, “It’s such a miracle” and “I can’t wait to meet our baby girl” (yes, these things are true); but if I can just be completely honest here (gasp!), I really don’t like being pregnant.⠀
I miss my old life. I miss eating sushi and deli sandwiches. I miss having a glass of wine (or 2 🙄) after a long workday or savoring a Manhattan on the weekend. I miss feeling semi-fit and strong. I miss being able to roll around at night and sleep in whatever position I find comfortable (now there are none). I don’t feel like my body is mine anymore. I always feel left out when hanging out with friends. Pregnancy is lonely, and nobody talks about it and that’s dumb.⠀
So I’m just here to say: pregnant ladies, if you’re not loving life right now, I think that’s understandable, and know there’s at least one of us out here that feels the same. ⠀
Everyone keeps saying it will be worth it, and I’m sure they’re right. I just want to feel “normal” again. Nine months is such a long time!⠀
I will say it IS pretty cool to feel this child squirming around inside of me. And I AM excited to see Kira and this little girl interact. And to play dress-up. 🧚🏻♂️ Duh!
Buuuttt if anyone wants to get me a puppy...🐶 Jk, jk, I don’t think I could handle that right now!⠀

I know from experience how stressful portrait sessions can be. Taking the time to be a client myself reminded me of all the things I can/need to do to help out my clients and to make it a positive experience for them. So to receive an email like this, I couldn't be any happier:
• "I just wanted to say THANK YOU for such a wonderful experience this past Sunday! Jason & I had such an incredible time...You were such a huge help in making us feel comfortable, and what could've felt like a chore, ended up being a magical experience for us and we owe it all to you! "
As you can probably tell from my feed, I love photographing people in nature. But, we ventured to Downtown Palo Alto for a few shots, and I’m glad we did! (And, we still got some greenery in this photo! 😜)
