These are my all time favorite Christmas cookie: candy cane cookies. These are extremely buttery with a beautiful minty peppermint flavor and somehow even better FROZEN. They can be made into whatever color or shape that you please. One time my family was frustrated with the candy cane making process so we swirled colors into little balls and called them reindeer turds😂 these are a great way to be super creative with you holiday cookies.
1/2 cup room temp butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/2-1 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
2 1/2 cup flour
Whatever food coloring you want
Preheat oven to 375f. Cream butter sugar and shortening on medium high for about 5min. Add egg and extracts. Add flour and salt. Color the dough. You can shape it immediately but I prefer to refrigerate for 1hr or more. Cook for 8-14 min or until golden on the edges. Let cool on the tray to continue cooking
Practicing my food styling skills since tomorrow I’m back to the REAL WORLD 😳
These are @FoodNetwork’s cornbread-chestnut muffins - November Muffin of the Month.
They are almost like stuffing in a muffin. I’d say these would be great with creamy soups like ooh, corn chowder or clam chowder.
Food styling-wise, I think I like the first picture better. I like the concept of the stack, but I need a more interesting background.
Please tell me someone else's kid also chooses the baking homework EVERY week?! This weekend we have rainbow polar bear cupcakes thanks to the #rainbowbear reading topic 💕🤣 Not gonna lie there's food colouring EVERYWHERE!!! #bakingweekend#glitter#homework
It was @mermaid_shield_maiden's birthday yesterday, so I made her an apple crumble cake with a cream cheese and dulce de leche frosting. 🎂 Ps. @michaelsstores has cute cake boxes so my lame homemade cakes look cute. #makeitwithmichaels
