When you start off a new week with fresh Montreal bagels 👌
My parents occasionally bring me fresh bagels in a paper bag (kept and reused). I cut them all in half and store them in the freezer in a cotton bread bag. They keep nicely for about a week, but often get gobbled up way before then. The toasted sesame seeds from the paper bag and on the cutting board get stored in the fridge, which make a delicious addition to many dishes.
Although I don't buy all our bread package-free, I am actively trying to make better choices. Ideally I would get unpackaged bakery bread more often, but there are still many kinds we enjoy that are only accessible packaged in plastic bags.
To that I say: enjoy the bread, reuse the bags and remind yourself that small changes are better than none at all!
Livin the bagel life over the donut life lately. I love me a thiccc herb everything bagel with siracha and garlic cream cheese 😩💦
Finally got around to trying @levendbagelry in Boston Public Market. Their unique sourdough bagels have a nice tart flavor that really elevate the depth of flavor. One of the best in Boston with a variety of cream cheeses to choose from.

Took the 1 train down sixty blocks to the Upper West Side and arrived at Absolute Bagels to a line of dedicated fans that stretched down the block! Absolute had some delicious schmears, light and extremely flavorful, and the three we tried were all phenomenal. The bagels have an even distribution of toppings that complimented the cream cheese however, the everything bagel toppings could have used a bit more salt and garlic. The exteriors have a classic NYC crunch, especially the everything. The fresh out the oven bagels are warm and fluffy on the inside and definitely worth the wait.
Visited the Lansdowne Christmas Market today and then, after some serious power shopping, I popped over to Kettleman’s for some lunch AND THEY HAVE CHRISTMAS BAGELS! This was literally the highlight of my week. Thanks @bagelottawa !
