Oh YES... you will ♥️ LOVE ♥️ these dates... they’re wrapped in bacon!!! Bacon Wrapped Dates
• 12 slices of bacon
• 24 large Medjool dates
• 3 oz. Chevre (Goat’s milk) cheese
• 1 Tbsp. honey
• 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
• 24 wooden toothpicks
• 1/3 jar Peppadew Red Pepper Jelly
• ¼ cup soy sauce
Preheat oven to 375°F. Slit the dates lengthwise along one side using a sharp paring knife. Gently remove the pits and discard. Combine the cheese, chopped nuts and honey. Put 1 tsp. of filling into the cavity of each date.
Cut the bacon slices in half, crosswise. Place bacon on
two sheet pans and bake for about 5 minutes until the edges just begin to brown and the slices are about half done. Remove the bacon from the pan while still limp. Drain on paper towels. Wrap one slice around each date. Secure the bacon with a toothpick to keep it in place.
Place the wrapped dates on the rack of a broiling pan. Heat Peppadew Red Pepper Jelly to thin and combine with soy sauce. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the dates with Peppadew Red Pepper Jelly mixture.
Bake for about 10 minutes. Turn the appetizers and brush Peppadew Jelly mixture on the other side. Continue to bake until your bacon wrapped date appetizers are golden brown, about 10 minutes more.
Time to start Thanksgiving planning again! This year I am hosting at my house since my mom is going to my brother's house in Albuquerque. My sister in law is expecting boy #3 any day so my mom is going to help out! .
My signature dish is bacon wrapped Turkey! I use the recipe from the runaway spoon. It makes the Turkey super juicy and tender! Even the leftover breast meat is moist! Bonus bacon for leftover Turkey sandwiches! .
What is your best Thanksgiving dish? What is your favorite dish to eat?
This is a time to splurge. Trying something different this year! Love this holiday & a chance to challenge myself to new cooking recipes. I’ll attach the recipe here if anyone else is interested.
