Been a long, painful, emotional week for me. All that aside, anyone out there with this and degree of it. I am fused fully on right side and almost on left. I have felt like I have been breaking into. Chiropractor has helped to find it and adjusted differently which is helpful but I am still on mend and honestly, fearful of hurting myself again.
A week ago, I was vacuuming and when I pulled it back, bam. I felt like my back pulled and as always SI joint went stupid. I got worse as days went. By mid week, I had to have help getting up, clothes on, going to bathroom, could not bend or even roll over or get in and out of car without extreme pain.
Hips were nuts looking. Like a jacked up see saw!😦 left side looked like a hour glass, right side looked like a straight stick. Lol.
I am still stiff. Been on steroids as well due to inflammation was bad. It's just I cannot stretch ( so stiff) like I want to and it's the fear of doing something I shouldn't. So if anyone has insight on this I'd love to hear from you. I know I will have to make lifestyle changes. Out of all my injuries, this one hit me different. I don't want shots or even surgery. 😦😡
In August I was experiencing symptoms like lots of indigestion and bloating, increasing nausea and vomiting, severe back pain, and, most concerning, my legs felt like they wanted to give out walking even short distances. They continued to get worse, so I went to the ER to see what was going on. I never imagined it would end up being an ovarian cyst. Nevertheless, one that was about 1.4 feet long and weighed 82 pounds, especially since I didn’t have gynecological symptoms. I was in total shock when I saw this CT scan image that day in the ER. The gray part is the mass and as you can see it was even pushing up my organs, like my liver and stomach. Thus, all the indigestion and other symptoms. It was so big the doctors couldn’t be sure at the time where exactly the mass was coming from. Have you ever tried cupping?
My body is ‘falling apart’. I am forever at the physio/chiro/osteo/masseuse. I often have to ask for longer appointments as I have more than one body part that needs attention 🤣. Being anxious activates the body’s stress response. This causes the body’s muscles to tighten so that they are more resilient to damage when in real danger.
High anxiety and persistently elevated stress can cause muscles to become so tight that they experience chronic pain, stiffness, soreness, and immobility. So, as your anxious behaviors increase, so will your body’s stress and its effects, including causing severely tight muscles in the back that cause chronic back pain.
The vacuum formed by Cupping draws up the old non-circulating stagnant blood and sticky fluids from the area, bringing them up to the surface and away from the injury so that healthy free circulation can be restored to the affected area, thus creating space for oxygen, living cells and nutrients for faster recovery.
Where there is dead, static blood, lymph, cellular debris, pathogenic factors, and toxins present in the body, Cupping can leave marks which indicates that the stagnation or disease has been moved from the deeper tissue layers to the surface.
The color and pattern of the marks depend on the level of stagnation in the area, and range from a bright red to dark purple, usually lasting 3 days to a week. If there is no stagnation present, there will be only a pink marking which disappears in a few minutes to a couple of hours.
So I guess there was no suprise how dark my marks are. I’ll probably need more sessions to see some improvements. I’ll let you know.

If you are looking to decrease muscle tension, increase recovery time, range of motion, and flexibility in your back, a foam roller will be your new best friend!
In this video, we focus on 2 major muscles:
👉🏼 Your Lats are a sheet of muscles that cover basically your entire back - they can get tight and sore from doing too many back workouts, and weak and loose if you have poor posture.
👉🏼 Your Serratus Anterior is a muscle that wraps around the side of your ribcage (it looks like gills on people with lower body fat 🐠). This muscle helps stabilize the shoulder blade, and can be tight and underworked if not given attention.
So how do we help alleviate & fix these muscles?? 🧐🧐
*Grab a foam roller and start rolling!
• Place a foam roller just underneath the armpit
• Begin rolling the side of your ribs up and down the foam roller
• To target the lats, very slightly move your body so the foam roller hits your side/back
• Perform this motion for 30-60 seconds
👉🏼 To release the muscles, perform this exercise before a workout
👉🏼 To ease soreness/tenderness, foam roll post-workout 💪🏼

Why does lower back pain occur? In simple terms..When in a sitting position and your lower back is in a rounded position the ligaments of your spine will be in a lengthened position.(demonstrated by picture on the right) When lengthened for two long PAIN SIGNALS will begin to fire towards the brain 💭
There are two solutions:
1: make a permanent change and consciously be aware of maintaining the curvature of your low back by engaging your core. Conscious will lead to subconcious ✨
2. Roll a towel(1 or 2) and place it behind your back to maintain the curvature of your lower back.
