So finding really good healthy options to eat out in London can be tough, but eating out and trying to eat clean in #crossfit Colombia is nigh on impossible. The options which try to be healthy tend to fall quite a way short, maybe it’s the quality of the oil, poor cuts of meet, or just not enough veg. So here are some tips to keep your nutrition on track when travelling through South America, or anywhere that you might encounter similar challenges.
️⃣ Get good at cooking. Sure it might be easier said than done, but it’s a lot easier to stay healthy went to know you can quickly cook up a meal that’s taster, healthier, cheaper, and bigger than what you can by in a restaurant.
️⃣ Knife skills - when you’re fast with your knife, it not only makes the process quicker, but it makes prepping veg fun.
️⃣ Stay longer in one spot, find accommodation (Airbnb is really good) where you can cook, and stock your cupboards. In countries like Colombia there are little shops selling fresh fruit and veg on every other corner, and for less common ingredients the larger supermarkets tend to have everything.
️⃣ Be ready to change your diet, to eat what is closet to nature for for your area of the world. RAW - (Recently Alive & Well) can be a helpful way to think about things. Check out ep275 of the @barbellshrugged podcast with @fatburningman
️⃣ This may mean considering changing up you macros. @mindpumpmedia talk about how through our evolution humans have had to change diets through the season, and this is probably a really good thing to do.
