This roasted eggplant spread is a very popular Romanian. While Baba Ghanoush uses tahini and garlic, this Romanian spread is made with mayonnaise (ideally, homemade mayo) and raw onions. Cooking the eggplants over an open fire or even a grill gives them a nice smokey flavor. Or you can cook them in the oven, like I did because it was too late for grilling. I like to spread it on fresh bread and add tomatoes on top. Yummy!

Deets ➡️ quinoa salad ➡️ 1/2 cup cooked quinoa + Cherry tomato + Parsley + cucumber seasoned with salt, pepper , olive oil and lime juice .
Grilled shrimps ➡️ 2 cups of shrimps seasoned with 2 tbsp olive oil, salt , pepper , onion powder + cumin and paprika.
Extra ➡️➡️2 tbsp baba ganoush ( roasted eggplants with tahini chilli sauce).

طريقة الجمبري ⬅️⬅️ الكمية لفردين أو على مرتين.
نتبل ٢ كوب جمبري ( ٢٠ واحده ) بم.ص ملح + نص م.ص فلفل + م.ص بابريكا + نص م.ص كمون + م.ص مليانه ثوم بودرة + ٢ م.ك زيت زيتون.
نشويه على الجريل ٣ دقايق لكل جنب.
وانا زودت ٢ م.ك بابا غنوج بالزبادي 😅
وجبة خفيفة و صحية و مشبعة جدا.
KAFTA LAQMI WITH BABA GHANOUJ
Sometimes I cook Lebanese food because I don’t live near my family anymore so most of the time nobody can make it for me. My mum did make the baba ghanouj - I just had to pull it out of my freezer so I won’t put a recipe here. The main thing I actually made was the kafta - the rest was just assembly.
500g lamb mince (substitute lean beef mince and extra virgin olive oil)
An onion, grated or very finely diced
A bunch of finely chopped parsley
At least 2tsp baharat (Lebanese seven spice) (substitute cinnamon)
Salt and pepper
Combine the ingredients in a large bowl. Kneed the mixture until you can shape it into patties and have them hold their shapes. Take a small amount of mixture, smaller than the palm of your hand, and roll it into a small, fat sausage shape. Kafta works best on the barbecue, or you can fry it in olive oil until it’s cooked through.
Fresh lebanese bread
Hommus or baba ghanouj
Chopped fresh veggies and herbs (tomatoes, cucumber, spinach, radish and parsley were used here)
Optional - lebanese pickled turnips
Put some of each ingredient down the middle of the Lebanese bread loaf. Fold the bottom up, and then fold one side over the filling. Roll into a wrap. .

Dinner @masrawy_kitchen where the wait is long but the food is well worth the wait.
Unfortunately the Umm Ali was not available today. I’m hoping it will be next time we’re there.
Food: 5/5: We ordered the Stuffed Vine Leaves (Wara2 Enab), Baba Ghanoush, Balady Bread, Macarona Bechamel, Koshary, Hawaoshi (Beef Arayes), Chicken Masrawy Fusion with Rice, and Kofta with Salad and French Fries. Everything was delicious! The mains portions are very generous and can easily be shared between 2 people. The stuffed vine leaves are always my favorite but I’ve never tried them with a dipping sauce so that was very interesting. I tried Koshary for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. The Hawaoshi is a plumper, beef version of Arayes. The macarona would probably be better off with smaller macaroni pasta instead of the penne they’ve used.
Service: 3/5: the restaurant is super busy. The wait time was 40 mins, after which the food took at least 20–30 mins to start arriving. The macarona bechamel took the longest time; almost 40 mins, and is the only dish, in my opinion, that is not worth the long wait. The wait staff is not very attentive and seem quite overwhelmed with the crowd. In any case we intend to return for their breakfast and umm ali.
Ambiance: 3/5: It’s a small place and tends to get over crowded and very loud.
F O O D & F R I E N D S | I love the @castlehillharvestmarket and I love entertaining family & friends. The markets have become my families Saturday morning ritual every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. We stock up on fresh eggs, bacon, fruit & veg, and much more! Picked up some fresh produce yesterday for morning tea with friends today.
Big shout out to @sksecondbreakfast stall. I baked muffins (pictured) using their Belgian Chocolate & Chia Muffin mix, a fresh wholesome snack low in sugar, so delicious! Can't wait to grab myself another mix.

존맛ㅠ 난 쫀득쫀득하고 가니쉬 고소하고 새콤하고 암튼 맛남ㅜ 그리고 대망의 고기... 위에 소금 뿌려놔서 걷어내고 먹었는 데 소스 단짠단짠, 고기 존맛존맛ㅜㅜ
