‘Twas an honor and a pleasure to participate in @sheliftsofffilms #boundless trailer shoot. I’m grateful to have such incredible women in my life who work hard, inspire me daily, and prove that when we work together, we can accomplish anything. Always a joy to work with this tribe. @julia.vally @russellsams @superstablein @joeypollari @mandamurhead @devonweigel @cafsocal @julia_cavanaugh @acefillmore #sheliftsofffilms
I love this nomadic invader from Monster Hunter World, the size, the explosive power....and the roar! You hear that and you know you're gonna have a great time ( laughs maniacally ). Anyway I decided to draw the big ol' bagel goose as a woman, one who has been through war and loves explosives so much that grenades barely hurt her!
@charge_seven Ian called for #twoplanessunday at #dailythemetag so here's a pair of big bombers as a contrast of technologies and combat environments. This was a shot taken last summer at EAA AirVenture.
Target of opportunity: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base - The Boneyard. I have shot this site several times - once on the ground back in the eighties while on a Nat Geo assignment and while shooting aerials in Tucson for clients. The “Boneyard” holds decommissioned US and Canadian Forces aircraft. Image shot from a Bell Long Ranger helicopter. #boneyard#aircraft#b52bomber#aerial#aerialphotography#tucson
This American bomber was shot down on 27 December 1972, killing the navigator. The rest of the crew were taken to Hoa La Prison (Hanoi Hilton) where they remained until the treaty in 1973. The remains of the bomber was left in the lake as a sort of symbol of the Vietnamese people’s ‘triumph’ over the dreaded B52’s. This campaign was known as the ‘Christmas Campaign’, and dropped over 20000 tonnes of bombs and killed around 1600 civilians over the 11 days it lasted.
Grandpa piloted BIG planes when he was in the Air Force. I love going to air shows and seeing some of the types he flew. This B-52s paint job was very appropriate for the day. I may or may not have wiped away tears remembering him. I miss you grandpa but it’ll be neat to bring your great-grand-baby to see your planes next year and many years to come. #b52bomber#unforgotten#legacy
Went on a Scotney Tour this morning inspired by @jenscotney run around Bleaklow yesterday visiting the airplane crash sites. We headed up to the Super Fortress crash site and then onto the Wains Stone and Bleaklow. It was a glorious hot sunny morning and @sherlockthebeagle1 looked very impressed with our walk 😂
LONDON: A rebalancing of world power is underway, and global and regional organizations are in need of reform. China and Russia challenge the post–World War II international order developed by the United States and its allies. China’s swift economic growth and Russia’s military interventions have caught the West off guard, explains journalist and author Humphrey Hawksley: "China... is stepping into an array of vacuums created by economic crises, weak governance and unpredictable populism, yet nether Beijing nor Moscow has the wherewithal to build rival institutions of the strength that has allowed the West to hold sway in the world order for centuries." International organizations designed to promote cooperation have not kept pace with social and economic changes since 1945. Groups like the United Nations, the European Union and the International Monetary Fund must take voices of rising powers into account or risk losing credibility and influence. Hawksley concludes, “The West’s failure to act on modernizing the world order is becoming as much a threat to the West’s rules-based system as is Russia and China’s attempt to challenge it.” – YaleGlobal // Visit yaleglobal.yale.edu for the full story by Humphrey Hawksley, an author and Asia specialist, and follow @yaleglobal for more
