This is an interesting topic to me because I meet women that consider self care to be going to the spa, buying expensive clothing,  taking a little vacation after running themselves into the ground, eating at a nice restaurant or buying some fancy item. .

This is actually not self-care. It is mostly fulfilling your desires for material things and there’s nothing wrong with that. I like nice things too but I don’t call that self care. .

Self care is much deeper, from a place of self love where you truly value yourself and your wellbeing. Self care requires you to dig deep, put yourself first and take some serious action to get healthy and feel good in life. .

You must be empowered to make these kinds of choices for yourself. .

Do you really care for yourself? Or do you distract yourself with nice things to avoid doing what you really need to do?

This week is all about turning regressive habits into progressive habits. Each of us have Samskaras - subtle impressions left in the mind after each action. Over time these build up to a point where we are perhaps reacting to life in a preconditioned reflexive manner rather than consciously and intentionally.

Our aim in Yoga is to move from negative samskara to positive samskara but then ultimately to a freedom from habit - even good habits can be seen as a limitation.
💦
Freedom sees us able to act without colour or taint, without conditioning. We are not being self-consciously “good”, it is just our nature to be free from these limits - we make effective decisions without attachment to a future outcome. 💦
What progressive habit would you like to cultivate from today forth? Is there a regressive habit you could bring into awareness and work towards eliminating?
Remember what we create over time is removed over time - through intention and practice. 🙏🏻

Por eso un Pranayama ideal para Pitta es Sheetali:

Siénteta en una posición cómoda, con la espalda recta, los ojos cerrados.
Puedes cruzar las piernas y respirar profundamente por la naríz unas dos o tres veces para ir preparando los pulmones.

Enroscar la lengua doblando los lados hacia el centro formando un tubo. Saca la punta de la lengua hacia fuera. -Como alternativa para quienes no pueden hacerlo, poner la punta de la lengua contra el paladar con los dientes juntos-

Inhalar por la boca y exhalar por la naríz. Al inhalar por la boca, con los pulmones llenos, cerrar la boca, relajar la lengua y exhalar lentamente por la naríz. No retener la respiración. Repetir de cinco o diez veces, dependerá del ritmo natural de cada uno, 1 minuto, 2 minutos… Puede hacerse hasta 20 veces. Tener presente tomar más tiempo, el doble del tiempo para exhalar que para inhalar. No te preocupes por contar, dejar que fluya. Sentirás los efectos refrescantes de este tipo de respiración.  Ideal para el verano pudiendo practicarse tanto a la mañana como a la noche.

Sus beneficios son calmar la sed, bajar las temperaturas corporales altas, purificar la sangre, ayudar en procesos de acidez, fiebre, así como proporcionar alivio para pieles sensibles con erupciones…

No es recomendable su práctica en invierno, ni en casos de presión
