Despite being extremely busy I FINALLY found the time to update my 2018/2019 summer/fall/winter class schedule. Figured I should probably get it publicly posted before heading out on my next 100 day teaching tour (this time focused on the Pacific Northwest & Rocky Mountain states). Many upcoming classes are already full...but there is still some room in a number of the fall/winter dates. Click on our bio link to learn more. -Tellur Fenner
COMPLEX || The human body is a complex, self regulating organism. Each and every cell has its own bodily intelligence and is working to maintain homeostasis. So why, with this incredibly resilient, resistant and intelligent hardware do we still get sick? We like to refer to it as mistake of intellect. The body wants balance but instead we lead counterintuitive lives, feeding it incorrect nourishment on all levels... food, lifestyle, emotions, environment, spirit... all healing modalities work towards restoring balance but for a truly holistic and long lasting result as individuals we must address all areas. One small step each day can lead to the life you’ve always dreamed of.
Intermittent fasting, nature, prayer/meditation, spice combinations, sugar as condiment, community —All these anti-inflammatory life extending measures were things we knew way back when but forgot 🧐🤨
When I was in med school I thought these things couldn’t be true! How could the best institutions in the world not mention the power of any of these actions. Things that my Indian ancient ancestors and probably yours (wherever they are from) did as a part of life were now shunned - New was better, modern was more elite.
But now we know the power of all these things.
Can you name some ancient truths That are now accepted?
Oh happy Father’s Day!!I love reading all the posts about superdads out there. I can’t say enough about my own husband, father, and father-in-law, granddad etc - they are real heroes 💪🏽🏆
Monterrey, Mexico Yoga Posse! Whatta joyful weekend of classes teaching to these amazing heart full of soul yoga teachers! Thank you Joel and @yolandaamadoryoga and Surya Yoga!
It is truly a blessing to be able bring over 21 years of my passion, teaching experience, and love for Prana Vinyasa to different places in the world, and I especially love teaching in Spanish!
Right now with everything going on in the world I am more passionate than ever and I find I get lost in love when I’m teaching and when I snap back into reality and see the beautiful faces looking at me with love eyes I’m like wow, they are feeling this, it’s coming through, and it’s such an amazing moment...
Probably the thing I am most passionate about is the power of daily practice, Sadhana, and that this is one of the most important aspects of becoming a phenomenal yoga teacher. I love to share tips on how to create a fulfilling and sustaining yoga practice, and how to put together all the elements of mantra, pranayama, Ayurveda, and asana for each individual person and the powerful effect it will have not only on your life but in your teaching.
Learning how to craft your own daily practice so that it becomes a sacred ritual you will fall in love with, is one of the special parts of my Yoga Teacher Mentorship Online Course for new teachers that begins in about a week! This six-month course is something I am very excited about to help teachers that are new to the path of teaching yoga, so see link in bio for complementary call with me if you’re interested!
FINAL WEEK OF SLOW MAMA SERIES!!
This week is all about turning regressive habits into progressive habits. Each of us have Samskaras - subtle impressions left in the mind after each action. Over time these build up to a point where we are perhaps reacting to life in a preconditioned reflexive manner rather than consciously and intentionally.
Our aim in Yoga is to move from negative samskara to positive samskara but then ultimately to a freedom from habit - even good habits can be seen as a limitation.
Freedom sees us able to act without colour or taint, without conditioning. We are not being self-consciously “good”, it is just our nature to be free from these limits - we make effective decisions without attachment to a future outcome. 💦
What progressive habit would you like to cultivate from today forth? Is there a regressive habit you could bring into awareness and work towards eliminating?
Remember what we create over time is removed over time - through intention and practice. 🙏🏻
