I ate mangos on mangos. My sister said I had a permanent mango stain on the side of my face and I did... One of the boys gave me that flower and walked me allll the way to his home just to pick me cherries off of his families tree. I ate them happily. I love Haiti! 🌺🇭🇹🌺 #Haiti#haitianwomen#ayiti#kiraetienne#kira
Our ‘french breakfast’ radishes are sprouting in the seed garden! These are one of my favorites. They’re sweet and tender and perfect for dipping.
The ‘french breakfast’ radish is an heirloom introduced in 1879, it was the popular market radish of Paris, now more a type than a single variety. Not sure where the name came from as radishes arented usually eaten for breakfast but I would think it’s a great way to start the day since it’s a detoxifier and will promote better liver and gallbladder function from the start of your day. I would harvest a few to snack on during my morning inspections of the garden and I always felt great.
Si lè w te piti ou pat menm manke vale yon grenn kenèp, konnen y ap voye w tounen sou latè pou w fin fè rès misyon an. Si pandan w granmoun nan ou poko pran tranpe kenèp, banm al priye pou ou 😂😂 #Kenèp#Ayiti#Haiti#Summer
🕊Mambo Ezili Danto', a Lwa (spirit of Vodou) of the Petro rite, who plays an important part in many Vodouisants' lives.
Ezili Dantor (pronounced eh-zee-lee Dahn-tor) is by far one of the most popular female Petro Lwa. She can be a tough lady, a little wild, but before all she is a mother. She is the most perfect mother one could wish to have.
Dantor is a mother who watches and cares for her children very much. She can be a disciplinarian, as she does not and will not tolerate children behaving badly. She will defend her children and family until the very end. Dantor will also help a person for very little sacrifice on their part.
Dantor is served with the Image of Mater Salvatoris, sometimes also known as Santa Barbara Africana, which is the image you see on the top left hand corner of this page. She is also associated with other Madonnas who hold a child such as Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Czestochowa. Other images include Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Danto is also considered a protector of children. Naturally as a mother would protect her own, Mama Danto will always go to the extremes to ensure the safety of her children. She will stop everything she is in the process of doing in order to go to her child's aid. She will always be featured with her child in any image. The daughter most frequently seen in her arms is known as "Anais". Ti Jean Petwo is also Danto's son yet he is also her favorite lover.
Anais often serves as Ezili Danto's translator and interpreter. She relays messages sent to Danto, thus she is often addressed when speaking to Danto. Danto is also the mother of a few sets of the Marassa herself. Some will say that Mama Danto has seven children. 🕯

🗿This was my first trip to Haiti. It was the most beautiful land I have ever been to and alhamdulillah I am so blessed to experience and learn my roots this early in my life. During our trip we saw the 365 door palace and hiked up to the forts that the slaves had their masters build for them to fight the French. Everything about Haiti is strong and built to last. I am proud to be Haitian. Though I witnessed things I wish I didn't I saw many things I hope I will never forget. During our stay in Marchand Dessalines, which was the first capital of Haiti, where they gained their independence in 1804, we played with the children and swam at Borin beach. I also was granted the opportunity to shoot two music videos during my stay in Haiti. One at a resort on Cow Island and one in all the realness that is Haiti. I'm so grateful to Allah for the experiences and for the food that fed my soul. I can't wait to go back, I wish I never left. Mwen renmen Ayiti ❤️🇭🇹❤️#ayiti#haiti
