So proud of my new lil AOA crew. We’re such a different team than played in LA in April. To combat the “who are we, and how do we play together?” that comes when you have a “new” team that is developing, we voiced that concern when we felt it happening. In those moments at practice or scrimmage when we couldn’t find each other, or didn’t know what to expect from one another we would take time to notice that we were a new unit, still learning each other and that was ok. It meant there was no time for worrying about stepping on someone’s leadership toes, if you saw something, you had to communicate it. We actively worked to scrimmage together outside of WOJ practice, and concentrated on running our plays so everyone could find where they play best in them. I can’t wait to keep learning and growing with this portion of our team! Catch us next weekend in Seattle playing the amazing B teams from @mnrg @azrollerderby and again the super fun @ratcityrollerderby ! So much fun!
