The Mercedes W123 is a range of executive cars produced by German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz between 1976 and 1985.

The W123 models surpassed their predecessor, the Mercedes-Benz W114 models, as the most successful Mercedes, selling 2.7 million cars before replacement by the Mercedes-Benz W124 after 1985. The additional range of smaller Mercedes-Benz W201 models were introduced in 1982.
As usual, model names were related to engine sizes, type of engine and chassis type:

C for Coupé
T for Tourismus und Transport (estate/station wagon)
The long-wheelbase model was simply called "Lang" (long)
D for Diesel
Turbo for Turbodiesel
E for Einspritzung (fuel injection)
As for the chassis codes, W123 is the regular sedan, S123 the estate, C123 the coupé, V123 the Lang, and F123 for the bare chassis as used for ambulances and other conversions.
Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 four-door versions on 29 January 1976. While there were some technical similarities to their predecessors, the new models were larger in wheelbase and exterior dimensions. The styling was also updated, although stylistic links with the W114 / W115 were maintained. Initially, all models except 280/280E featured quad unequal-size round headlights and the latter large rectangular units. When facelifted, these units became standard across the range. All W115 engines were carried over, with the 3-litre 5-cylinder diesel model being renamed from "240D 3.0" to "300D" (as it had already been called before in North American markets). The only new engine was the 250's 2,525 cc inline-six (Type M123, a short-stroke version of the 2.8-litre six Type M110) that replaced the old 2,496 cc Type M114 "six".

The S63-based Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe bolts to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and doesn't stop accelerating until the needle hits 217 mph (350 km/h).
Set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Brabus claims its 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe is the “fastest and most powerful all-wheel drive coupe on the globe.”
Brabus takes the stock 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 and punches it out to 5.9 liters. It also replaces the stock turbos with ones of its own design, and adds a new intake module and engine-control software.

The result is 838 horsepower and 1,069 pound-feet of torque, although Brabus says production cars will be limited to 848 pound-feet to preserve the drivetrain. It’s a powerful car indeed that has to be restrained from hurting itself.

Not surprisingly, the performance claims are pretty spectacular. Brabus says the 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe will do 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, and reach an (electronically limited) top speed of 217 mph, or about as fast as a LaFerrari.

The G-Wagen was facelifted in 1990. In 1989, for the 10th anniversary of the G Model, a new model variant with permanent 4-wheel drive, a wood-trimmed interior and optional Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) debuted at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. Production began the following April. For 1992, a new sub-series for professional users began production. The civilian model began to offer cruise control, a stainless-steel spare-tire cover, running boards and Burl Walnut wood interior trim. The same year, the 100,000th G Model was built in Graz. In 1994, the model line was officially renamed the G-Class. Ventilated front disc brakes and a driver’s air bag became standard. The SLC (C107) derivative was a 2-door hardtop coupe with normal rear seats. The SLC is commonly referred to as an 'SL coupe', and this was the first time that Mercedes-Benz had based a coupe on an SL roadster platform rather than on a saloon, replacing the former saloon-based 280/300 SE coupé in Mercedes lineup. The SLC was replaced earlier than the SL, with the model run ending in 1981, with a much larger model, the 380 SEC and 500SEC based on the new S class.

The thing with this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC AMG 6.0 DOCH Widenamebody is that it comes from an era when AMG wasn’t a fully integrated part of the brand with the star. It was a transitional time, as Mercedes-Benz was getting ready to acquire a controlling stake in AMG that year, before it became the sole owner of the tuning and racing outfit in 2005.

So, this isn’t a fully-fledged AMG model, but rather something like you’d get from Brabus today. Still, it’s a super rare find, with the seller stating that only 5 or 6 cars made in Germany came with the AMG-fettled 6.0-liter V8. This one was also fitted with AMG’s wide body kit featuring those muscular boxed fenders.

Geländewagen went on sale in 1979, after having debuted in February of that year. It was offered with two wheelbases, a short wheelbase (SWB) of 2,400 mm and a long one (LWB) of 2,850 mm. One could choose between three body styles: A two-door short wheelbase convertible, a two-door SWB wagon and a long wheelbase four-door wagon. The two wagon versions were also available as windowless two-door Vans (or Kastenwagen in German). While always assembled in Graz, the car was sold as the Puch G only in the Austrian, Swiss, and Eastern European markets.[8]

During the G-wagen's life span many a different body style was made for army and public-service clients, like the Popemobile, the pickup or the chassis/cab with a wheelbase of 2,850, 3,120 or 3,400 mm, the chassis/cab being the base vehicle for army-ambulances or communication vehicles. Because of the sheer variety of military versions, this article focuses on the more standardized civilian G-Wagen.

The 460 was popular with military and off-road enthusiasts, with more than 50,000 built in the first decade. Mercedes-Benz initially did not sell the model in the United States, but by means of "casual importation" grey-market in the mid-1980s, importers sold a number of G-Wagens which had been modified to meet the specifications by the US DOT, at about $135,000.

The 600 marked the last super-luxury model the brand produced in an unbroken line with its demise in 1981 since the model 60 hp Simplex from 1903. An extra shaft delivers power to the rearmost axle. The vehicle has five electronic differential locks, which can deliver 100% lockup of all six wheels, operated by three switches on the dashboard.

The G63 AMG 6×6 is 5875 mm in length, 2110 mm in width and 2210 mm in height, having ground clearance of 460 mm and fording depth at 1000 mm. It has arch axles, almost similar to those fitted on Unimog vehicles. The vehicle is installed with 18-inch beadlock wheels wrapped with gummy 37-inch tires, 4196-mm wheelbase (front axle to rearmost axle) has 4105 kg of curb weight. The G63 AMG 6×6 can deliver 0–60 MPH in 7.8 seconds with a top speed limited to 100 MPH.

Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² was an earlier concept vehicle bought into production in 2015. The vehicle was fitted with 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine delivering 416 bhp and 450 lb ft of torque. The model combines the body of a regular long-wheelbase Mercedes G-wagen with the portal gear axles of the much larger Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.This version also has a wider track compared to regular model.

G500 4×4² has three differentials and seven-speed automatic gear box with a ground clearance of 410mm. The car was launched at the Geneva motor show 2015 The name of the show car G 500 4×4² version was Extreme-G, and the positive response to this concept helped endorse the development of the production version. One reason the concept was developed was due to the high-demand for the G-Class, and in 2014 the G-Class sold over 14,000 units which is a lot for this type of vehicle.
